La Quinta Inn Tampa-Near Busch Gardens

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I would only recommend this hotel because I was going to Bush Gardens the next day and staying over 2 nights total. This hotel is a 5 min car ride from the Bush Gardens entrance and is close to some restaurants.

Ok to stay for night not in a good part of town. Good if going to Busch gardens

The inside of the rooms were clean but nothing was done to keep outside clean. One family had a dog who pooped outside along the walkway to our room. It should have been cleaned up and sprayed down but we walked by the remnants of it for 3 days. The room was a double and advertised to hold our family of 5 but it was very cramped. Best feature was the free WiFi, decent basic breakfast, and proximity to Busch Gardens.

Very convient location for various College visits.Affordable and clean.

overall our stay was pleasant. but the the evening receptionist was VERY UNACCOMODATING, Unprofessionally rude crude leaving me with a bad image of La Quinta. I have stayed at La Quinta on various occasions in the past, but would consider staying at a La Quinta in the future ONLY if there were NO OTHER OPTION

Our room was your average hotel room. Nothing spectacular but had everything one needs. My only complaint had to do with the key cards. We had to have ours reprogrammed three times in a 24 hour period. it had nothing to do with how we were handling it. It wasn't near a cell phone or other cards to deactivate it. It just sucked. After the third time of them reprogramming the card they finally got us new cards. After that, no issues.

There may be 2 beds but the room is way to small for 2 adults and a child. No privacy in the sink area, bathroom is too small, it’s old and we saw roaches. It’s close to Moffitt which is why we were there.

I will never stay there again... yes cheap but you get what you pay for..

We had two bus drivers stay overnight at this hotel and they said it was below standard so we will not book this hotel again

The staff was wonderful, very helpful. Hotel was clean, somewhat dated but not terrible. Close to dining, airport, Busch Gardens. My bed wasn't super comfortable, but we all slept and the A/C worked, which was key!

Kicked me out for having sex in the parking lot !

You were gated in and security guards were on the premises. The rooms were alright and the morning after breakfast area was really nice.

ROOM IS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. STAFF IS VERY NICE. CHECK IN FAST. BREAKFAST ROOM WAS OPEN EARLY. CLEAN AND BREAKFAST WAS NICE. I PERSONALLY RECOMMENDED. WALKING DISTANCE TO BUSH GARDENS.

Beds have holes. Bathroom smell like roaches and room smells really humid.

Room was clean but needs remodeling. Bathroom very old. They have new bathtub with very old tile. Could use new flooring. Overall, room was acceptable. Would consider staying again if I cannot find newer hotel for similar price.

Close to Busch Gardens and restaurants are walking distance

We chose ths hotel bc it was really close to Busch Gardens. Do not let the convenience fool you. The hotel was in a crappy area. The hotel itself was very outdated, and gross. The room looked clean at first glance, however, there was hair on the bathroom floor and the beds had dips in the middle, so you would roll to center. I wanted to move to a different hotel, but my husband convinced me to just stay bc "we are only sleeping here". The breakfast was a joke. They had stale cereal (daughters words), prepackaged muffins and yogurt. I have stayed at hotels similar quality to LaQuinta, that had really nice continental breakfasts. We ended up eating out.

The hotel was convenient to Busch gardens, however it was not in a nice neighborhood. The rooms were old and outdated. And there was hair on our bathroom floor. The bed was so old that they rolled you toward the center. "Free breakfast" was a joke. Stale cereal and bread to toast. They had some yogurt but that's it. Will not be staying there again.

The staff there were great. But This hotel is in the middle of the ghetto. Our room door wouldn't close on its own, we had to pull it to ensure it was closed properly. The three days we were there, our room was cleaned once.

Hotel name is misleading... Don't let it fool you. Overall, what can you REALLY expect for $89 a night? In the end, it didn't kill us. ☺️
