We stayed in this grand hotel in July this year, at the end of a month travelling. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge before returning home. The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building which has been magnificently and sensitively renovated, keeping the medieval history of the building to the fore. As soon as you walk inside the front doors, you are struck by the friendly attentiveness of the staff. From the free drinks on arrival, to the helpful advice on getting around town, they were a cut above anything we had experienced before in Tallinn - and this was our fifth trip to this beautiful city. True, there is no lift - but with room service to take your bags up and down, this is hardly a problem. Our room itself was spacious and well appointed, with a window seat overlooking the beautiful courtyard below. From a casual drink in the courtyard, to the free sauna, to excellent breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the restaurant, we found every experience a delight. We hope to return soon. Highly recommended.
Very small rooms had to change room due to the shower flooding classic room has no furniture such as a small table or sideboard to place personal items finally........... 'free breakfast' is actually continental breakfast + eggs, you will be given a menu to order a 'cooked breakfast' such as bacon , sausages and you WILL be charged for this , around 8 euro, Whilst I do not have a problem with this I would like to be informed at check in and more importantly on a booking website, this is not even stated on there own website !
Except for a bit to weak breakfast we had a wonderfull stay in this historical old town hotel. Service is delicat, friendly and promt (except breakfast where one girl had to do ala cart, bring coffee and keep service table full) The location is perfect in the very hart of old town. Rooms are very cozy. We got an upgrade which allways are a nice surprise..
It's a beautiful hotel and I fell in love with it the second I walked in. I was offered a cup of hot chocolate when I set foot in the hotel by a super helpful and friendly hotel staff. The lobby is beautifully designed and an amazing fireplace makes it look so homey and warm. I stayed at a junior suite and it's spacious and very lovely. The buffet breakfast is nice since it's my first time having a candle light breakfast which is quite romantic! You can always order something else other than what's available on the buffet table, for example an omelette, some pancakes. The service of the female waitress is top notch too! The quality is good and I was told that in summer time you can enjoy the breakfast in the count yard instead. Location wise it's just 3 minute walk from the center of old town. If I revisit Tallinn, I will return to this hotel in a heartbeat!
A short stroll to the Town Square this Leading Hotel of the World earns its reputation. I recommended this hotel to my daughter who earlier visited in March and celebrated her wedding there with friends and family a couple of months later. The service, accommodation and food is what one expects of a Leading Hotel and the staff accommodated all guests needs. We booked three rooms and each room had its individuality. History surrounds this building. Stayed for three days and enjoyed every minute.
Spent a week here in the summer of 2016 with my wife—June—and we had a lovely time at Schlossle. It was the perfect place to have a quiet, sealed experience in Tallinn's Old Town—you feel perfectly comfortable, but also a *part* of the place, rather than just a traveller or interloper. Estonia's a great little country, and Tallinn's a wonderful town, right on the Baltic Sea. Good food, wonderful walking, extraordinary history. And Schlossle (where we slept and ate, once) was how it all came together!
We were greeted by friendly and efficient staff providing us with a welcoming drink and a cool face towel. The hotel is unique. Three hundred years old and a couple of minutes walk to the main square. We were upgraded to a suite which was extremely comfortable. There was no lift but the staff carried our luggage to our room. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We would have loved to stay longer. Tallinn itself is a magical city.
Excellent service and a beautifully designed and decorated hotel. We were upgraded into a gorgeous garden room. The only small drawback was that entry into the room was outside so when it rained you could get wet. But the size of the room, the comfort, the furnishings and the large spa like bathroom made up for it. Breakfast was served downstairs. Although dark, it was charming showing the old foundations of the building. A hot, made to order breakfast is available either with the room rate or as an extra. The old town and central square are within walking distance as are several cafes and restaurants. Sadly, we had planned only one day there and would have liked to have spent longer.
This is a beautiful property in a historic building about a 3 minute walk from the central market of Old Town. The rooms are decorated in style and have excellent amenities. The restaurant is delicious with creative dishes and a cozy exposed rock setting. Very romantic at dinner time. The less than 5 star rating is because there is no elevator. Of course the staff help with luggage but... Another detraction is the poorly designed tub/shower. Its a high step in and out and narrow. Not much force to the shower as well. The staff are lovely and we enjoyed the proximity to multiple shops, restaurants and historic buildings.
Hotel Schlossle is near the heart of the old town. It's in a very old building, with exposed stone brick, uneven angled walls, and low ceilings in the lobby. We were lead to our room by the exceedingly hospitable staff, including friendly and knowledgeable Roman. Our room had high ceilings, attractive furnishing, and three large windows, two of which had quaint cushioned window seats overlooking a pleasant back courtyard. In the afternoon, after lots of walking and sightseeing, we took advantage of the hotel's lovely sauna facility that can be reserved by individual parties. So far, so good. Unfortunately, when we returned to the room after dinner we found that the air conditioning did not work and the bathroom floor heater could not be shut off. The room was hot and stuffy and impossible to sleep in. Worse, the night staff was sweet but useless -- she kept telling us the AC was working when it clearly was not -- no air was coming out of the vents (let alone cool air) and the room remained hot. Since the hotel could not fin a solution, we made the best of it -- we threw open the windows and got a fan. But that didn't solve the problem because it was a warm night, and it created new problems because the open windows meant the room was bright and noisy, not great for sleeping. To add insult to injury, the rollaway bed for my son kept collapsing in the middle -- he essentially slept in a v-shaped bed. . Unfortunately, despite its charms, a luxury hotel is not a luxury hotel if it can't provide a good night's sleep.
