L'Ermitage Hotel

I stayed in a business room with a sauna in March 2018. The service was more than friendly, a cosy almost boutique hotel, with modern nicely decorated rooms, a coffee machine, and a very large bathroom (in this case, with private sauna). The breakfast had a small range but of good quality, and I'd be happy to stay here again - I definitely recommend l'Ermitage!

We stayed here for two nights. The room was booked by our tour operator. My room 604 was pretty small with two big angled pillars facing the upper town. There us free WiFi, a safe and paid mini bar. A kettle to boil water was provided upon request. Free breakfast was served. Overall no complaints. Clean and comfortable room and bedding. Room could have been slightly bigger or without obstacles.

I stay there for 3 nights on a business trip and what a great place. Neat clean and great service. The hotel is at the foot of the mountain with quite some great views of the mountain. The food was great and I you can see it was done by people passionate about their job.

Nice hotel at a 10 minute walk from the old town. Well equipped and spacious rooms which are a bit noisy during night. Breakfast is very good with a large choice of dishes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Because of an early departure the hotel prepared a breakfast bag. It looked as it was quickly thrown together, a pity.

There's really nothing wrong about the hotel. The reception staff was welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was ok, the room was clean. Location is very convenient quite close to old Town, to railway station and to Kalamaja district. The only thing that's bothering me - I had it all and even better for comparable prices in *** hotels in Tallinn. How come this one positions itself as four stars? Example - a three star hotels usually don't offer any bathroom amenities except liquid soap in dispensers. In four stars you're expecting a shampoo/conditioner/body lotion. Room size - not too spacious. Again, not an issue, but a discrepancy with the hotel's image.

I had booked a room where there should have been a bottle of sparkling wine, rose and some chocolate waiting for us - a romantic room, however, there were not. Oh, what a disappointment. After informing it to the receptionist, it was fixed and they were brought in our room later on, however, the 'moment' had gone then already. But, we enjoyed them later on and tried to put back the first disappointment. The room was elegant with black and white colors, bathroom just like new and bed really comfortable. Very clean room. We had a view to the Hirvepark (Deer Park) and also saw one old castle. Nice. The room was on the third floor and it was quiet. The location is good - only about 10-minute walk away from the old town and f.ex. the Presidential Palace Breakfast was good - not fabulous but there were fruits, berries, vegetables, scrambled & boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, bread etc. so we were satisfied with that. We have visited in various hotels in Tallinn and this certainly was one of the best.

First impressions of a hotel is check in...... we were told we had a standard room booked but should upgrade to an executive room with private sauna or a standard executive room as our room was at the front of the hotel and was very noisy so we wouldn't sleep well, also the heating didn't work properly, the room was either too hot or freezing!!! I've been offered upgrades for an extra cost before but never like that. We opted to keep to our rebooked room. It was quite adequate and clean room 408 , you could hear a littl traffic but it wasn't bad and I don't think the thermostat worked but the temperature was fine. Breakfast was satisfactory but nothing more. The staff were not particularly friendly , just a smile goes a long way. The hotel location was perfect , only 10mins max to the old town.

Small, modern, clean, comfortable & friendly hotel with easy walking to the old town. Breakfast was of limited choice, but sufficient and good quality. Could not fault the place, especially at the price.

For city centre access and good admission standards, you can't go wrong with this hotel. Good choice but not cheap. Stayed here while on business in Tallinn and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very easy to get astound from the Hotel. Restaurant was good but it lacks a proper bar.

Situated on the south side of the old town of Tallinn, L'Ermitage is a modern looking hotel with nice rooms and common areas. Not quite the advertised 4 star feeling, but close. It's a shame then that the service in the hotel was a major letdown for us that nearly ruined our vacation in Tallinn. Service was inattentive and even after clear mistakes there were no apologies, no sympathy for the customer. We gave up trying and were happy that it was just for one night - a night we spent hungry because after waiting 1,5 hours for our room service order, we called to find out that it was cancelled without any reason given, and without any notification to us - the worst example of the service level we received. Again, no apology from the staff. Afterwards, we complained to the hotel about the issues, and got prompt apologies (though no explanations for the room service case) - but that doesn't change the fact we checked out feeling relieved that it was over.
