I have to say I have never been in a more comfortable bed in my life. The room was small, clean and cozy. The breakfast was amazing and had a wide selection of healthy food. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Lovely hotel.
Overall, the hotel is pretty good. We stayed twice, at the beginning and end of a trip around Northern Europe. Our first room, on the 5th floor, was cosy and comfortable. The room was very warm though which meant we had to open the window. The downside was that our room faced out on to the external courtyard and there was ridiculous amounts of noise every morning starting at about 4am. This is not an exaggeration; there were laundry deliveries/collections and bin collections every single morning at this hour, even on Sunday. Our second room, on the 4th floor; was slightly smaller, scruffier, and located by the lift. We had returned to the hotel after a very long train journey from Russia and really needed a few hours’ sleep in the afternoon. This was impossible due to the location of our room as so many people walked up and down the corridor and the cleaners were also fairly noisy when communicating with each other. Breakfast was okay, but unspectacular. We had some very nice food from the restaurant though which we ordered up to our room. The area which the hotel is severely underperforming in is its customer service. The receptionists were so miserable and a couple of them which were actually plain unpleasant. This is not what you want to deal with when you are on holiday. If you can get a room which does not face on to the courtyard, or is not located next to a lift, then I recommend this hotel - just don’t expect warm hospitality.
Choose the hotel for one night stay with my family, mainly due to good reviews. However, was slightly disappointed. Upon arrival the receptionist was more interested that she gets all the signatures on hotel forms rather than welcoming us to the hotel. Was charged upfront even without asking for my consent for this. The room is small and as it usually is the internet photos are far nicer than the reality. The room facing the street is extremely noisy, even during the night. The breakfast is mediocre. All in all - ok for a night’s stay, but there are better choices in Tallinn within this price range.
Nothing to complain. Got a good night’s sleep, which is most important. Nice clean and warm room, not a big one but enough. Good view to park (ask upper floors looking to the street). Parking costs but is convenient. Good breakfast. Location ok with a 10min walk to old town.
I stayed in this hotel for two nights in September. It was perfectly adequate, but not brilliant - nothing very wrong with it, but I didn't think it was especially good value, and if I went to Tallinn again I'd try elsewhere. It seemed to attract a lot of coach parties, so doesn't seem to put a lot of effort into encouraging people to return. It had the usual facilities, and room was a decent size, though bathroom was quite dated. Breakfast had a reasonable selection, and was not bad, but a lot of the food was more cheap, mass-catering style - I'd have expected better from this level and cost of hotel. Overall, nothing wrong with it, but I think I could have done better for the same cost. The location is quite good - not directly in the old town, but within reasonable walk of it - but again I expect there are hotels in Tallinn in better locations.
I stayed at this hotel with my son for 4 nights, while se were exploring Tallinn. It was a very pleasant stay. Nice room and very nice breakfast. We did not try the restaurant at other times but in the morning. They gave us a breafast packet since we left very early in the morning. Thank you for a very nice stay in your nice city!
I had a nice stay thanks to the night receptionist called "Annelly". The room was clean and nice but cold for me. The heating was not working on this new side of the building (room 603), and she brought me a electric heating for me, and put some paper in order to cover the cold ventilation. Some staff members from the breakfast seemed to be really new, because they were a bit messy and many tables were dirty and not cleaned in order to be used. That's why I had to clean one table myself.
I really looked forward to this hotel, but it was disappointing. The rooms are very clean and a good size, beds are comfortable, but it is very hot, too hot to sleep in these rooms. The air conditioning/climate control is not working, I did enquire about this and was told it is an old hotel and you can't change temperature. If you open a window the noise from traffic is very bad. The breakfast was okay but not special in any way. I did not sleep well here at all so would not come and stay again.
Most wonderful place in Tallinn, no doubt. The atmosphere, staff, and downstair restaurant is just a treat. Suggsest it for everyone without hesitation. Hope that everyone else have that same experience as i did - an amazing one.
We stayed 3 nights at L'Ermitage and were really pleased we had chosen to visit this lovely town. This hotel was clean, comfortable and really convenient for exploring the old town. Staff were all friendly and breakfast was simple and plentiful. Having two restaurants made it easy to find a quiet table. We enjoyed having a drink in the old town at Von Krahli bar and would also recommend finding your way to F-hoone restaurant for good food and atmosphere- it's not too far from the hotel on the other side of the railway. Also make sure you visit the Kumu museum- it's quite a spectacular building.
