Swissotel Tallinn5.0 out of 5.0

Spend 2 days at the Swissotel. 15 Minutes walk from the Old town. A modern and high building from which you have a wonderful view on Tallinn and the sea. If you do not get a room at the higher levels, try the bar or restaurant on the 30'th floor. Rooms are very well equiped, modern and the service is good and friendly. The breakfast buffet is very good and also here service rapid and good. I enjoyed the Swissotel very much and will return with pleasure.
The hotel has very classy rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for money in my opinion. Bar on the 30th floor has great, but great, harbour views. Good range of bottled beers and cocktails. I'm not a fan of bottled beers usually, but the local beers are very good. We took a punt on the restaurant- it has great views of the city and sunset, but don't be fooled by the menu. It looks a little straightforward, but it is truly exceptional. The prices are on the higher side, but I don't regret a euro. I had an asparagus starter and a turbot main course that will remain with me as benchmarks for a long time. The chef is top drawer, five years in Wicklow, and knows his trade. Great stay, and I'd come back no problem.
Spent three nights here in rainy September. The trip in from the airport was remarkably quick and easy, getting to checkin less that half an hour after hitting the ground, and checkin wasn't too painful either, although there was a good wait to get to the desk. The lobby area is very attractive and comfortable, and the room was the same, spacious, clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. Despite being on the 25th floor (sadly with views away from the old town), getting in and out was quick thanks to plentiful and efficient lifts. The bar on the top floor was comfy and well-stocked too, with a handy (and pleasingly peaceful) cigar/smoking room off to one side. Conference facilities were decent, although as I understood it not where we had expected to be thanks to a meeting of EU types usurping our earlier reservation. The location is pretty OK too, an easy ten-minute walk to the main sights of Tallinn. So far so good, but it wasn't all great. Aircon in the room seemed to be both noisy and entirely ineffectual, keeping the room at a steady (and uncomfortable) 24C the whole time. Buffet lunches for business meetings are always a bit of a disappointment, and here at least they managed to make things look stylish and provided easy access to food without a gridlock of queuing around the plates. The food however was on the dull side even for a buffet, with a selection which made it almost impossible to construct a normal meal. Meat tended to be chewy, vegetables mushy and tasteless. The same went for snack during meeting breaks, which were plentiful but less than a joy to eat. We also found the bar staff rather unwelcoming, perhaps taking offense at our lack of proper cocktail wear, and service up there could be very slow indeed (to be fair, it was generally pretty full of suits for most of our stay). If I come back to Tallinn, I'd much rather stay somewhere a bit more human and closer to the centre, like the excellent Merchant's House.
Short walk to old town, nice upscale property. Large rooms and bathrooms with nice amenities. Quiet rooms with nice lighting. Great breakfast choices with omelet station. Good WiFi connection and speed (free). Accommodating, friendly staff.
Hotel met our request for putting all 4 rooms in one floor and on a higher level. Check in for 9 people was nice and smooth thank you Erik. Great spa; pool & gym facilities. Twin rooms were spacious. Loved the coffee machine! Great view of the city from the 30th floor bar.
Very friendly staff, good food, excellent pool and saunas, impressive building with beautiful views (at least harbour view rooms). I have been twice this year and will stay here next time as well. I recommend
The hotel has a very modern architecture and is also the tallest tower in town. I enjoyed the spa, the indoor pool but much less breakfast. The staff is pretty friendly. The quality/price ratio is satisfactory.
Very nice hotel with great amenities and good location near the old city center. Breakfast buffet selection is very good with a wide selection of foods. The spa is very tastefully decorated with a decent sized pool. The staff in particular are very friendly and helpful!
Fast check In very late at night. very pleasant staff. Comfortable room. Would be helpful if they lit up hotel name on top of the building. We needed Radisson Blu to guide us Recommended Breakfast was excellent
Fab view from 21st floor. Enjoyable swim in pool - design flaw in showers though - I flooded the whole area with a simple shower and was glad the changing rooms were empty otherwise I'd have felt terribly guilty. Great breakfast choice, but very very busy -perhaps if it opened earlier the business and leisure crowds would be more spread out.
