Swissotel Tallinn5.0 out of 5.0

We picked this hotel for a very short overnight trip to Tallinn. When I saw our room, I immediately wished we could extend our stay so I could enjoy the room longer. We had a king size bed and a nice view, and the bathroom was just amazing, with a large bathtub as well as a separate shower. Service was great at both check-in and the breakfast room. Nice breakfast buffet as well. We'll be back!
The rooms are huge and very comfortable. From the high floors there are fabulous views (the nicest I think are out towards the port). Not much to do in the immediate area though. Shopping just next door which could be handy. Beautiful spa with 20m pool (but it is narrow) Restaurant on top floor was closed (apparently it has fabulous views) Restaurant on 8th floor was nice for breakfast and I also had an excellent dinner there (fabulous fresh tastes, but not much atmosphere in the restaurant as it was very empty when I was there)
Stayed here for one night. Rooms are huge and the bed is super comfy. Bathrooms are decorate well, with both shower and bathtub. Nice pool area, with steam room and sauna. Drinks at the bar super tasty also. Will stay again, on my yearly trip to home!
I've stayed here on several occasions from the time it first opened. I like the ambience and the staff are always helpful. The bar on the top floor is chic with a full array of drinks. The rooms are quiet which is important for me. Even when it's full you can't hear any obtrusive sounds especially if you stay on the higher floors.
Very good hotell. Everything here worked well. Rooms are large, clean and view from our room was excellent. Staff was very professional and breakfast one of the best ever. Location is good, you can walk to the old town and to the port. So, simply excellent
Once again a great hotel experience. Big and luxurious rooms and even more luxurious bathrooms with rain shower and bath tub. Spectacular view from the 23th floor. The room was clean and was also cleaned well when staying more than one night. The bed, pillows and plankets were great. Breakfast was topnotch with so many variety of food and drinks (fresh juices). Service is friendly, professional and attentive, which was especially noticeable during the breakfast. Chek-in and out is also easy and pleasant. When I am in Tallinn, wouldn't stay any other place than Swissotel that's for sure.
Unlike many hotels that have been opened a decade, this Swissotel does not need a refresh. The lobby, hallways, and rooms are still of a high quality. Less than a ten minute taxi ride from the airport and, more importantly, a ten minute walk from the Old Town, this hotel is conveniently located.
Location is quite central, next to Stockmann store house. Front desk service was extremely nice and fluent. It's a high building so when I was asked for room preferences I asked to get a room as high up as possible. 20th floor views were superb. The room was very spacious, king size bed felt very comfortable. TV was big and had hotel info channel (use it to find out where and when breakfast is served!). Bathroom was huge, the shower booth one of the best I've ever had (rain shower). The room had slippers, bathgown, ironing equipment, safety box (easy to use). I only spent one night and did not have time to explore the hotel any further but I trust I visit there again. Breakfast was very good (8th floor views), nice variety and food was displayed beautifully. Coffee was served on the table. Basic Wi-Fi worked perfectly (but it is "open" so use your own VPN) and there is an option to upgrade it to "premium" for faster connection.
I booked this weekend break through Accor and didn't notice that although under the Accor brand now they do not afford any Accor Platinum benefits. My own fault, I should have noticed. They did grant me an upgrade to a harbour view room which was nice. I prepaid this stay a month prior to arrival but was annoyed at check-in when the woman asked to see the card I booked with. I have a few cards and don't carry them all with me when I travel so she insisted she credit my original amount to my card and re-charge to the card I was carrying. Very annoying, I really don't understand why they do this. They had my money a month before I arrived, I showed my passport, isn't that enough? The room was really nice, although the fridge being in a large free-standing cabinet was a tad strange, the bathroom in particular being quite stunning! The bed was huge and very comfortable and yes, the harbour view was great. I used the bar on floor 30 each night - despite the price of drinks being really expensive for a place like Tallinn where they do not have Scandinavian type pricing. My first gin was 12 Euros plus tonic so I soon downgraded to a cheaper gin, still 7 Euros. It was a pleasant 15 minute stroll into the Old Town which really is a charming place to spend a few days. So many great bars and restaurants. I also ate in the newly refurbished restaurant on the 8th floor one night and can honestly say that the food was fabulous. I never have high hopes for hotel food, but couldn't be bothered going out one night and made a great decision to eat there. They do have a more expensive restaurant up on floor 30, but never made it there yet. I'm sure it would be great too. The views from the 30th floor are stunning. I went to the spa one afternoon and was charged 10 euros for the pleasure. It was ok, nice pool, sauna, steam room and was really peaceful. The coffee shop on the ground floor served excellent coffee and cakes too. All in all I really enjoyed this hotel and will return one day - I just wish they would ditch that stupid policy of showing your original credit card on arrival.
very comfortable hotel just at the edge of the old town. only 10 minutes to the airport. the taxi costs around 8 euros. staff is very helpful. rooms are comfortable as expected from the swissotel quality all over the world.
