Hotel’s location is perfect -5 minutes by walk to the port and 10 minutes to the old town.Rooms are quite nice but without minibar ,fridge and tea set. Also there is no air conditioner and safe box. Reception’s staff is helpful, varied delicious breakfast .
Oh no, there was a great benefit this hotel before, free parking but it doesn`t exsist anymore. Parking lot has been lost and it is under construction. Closest parking is 350 meters away, very uncomfortable after long drive from Latvija. Finally we were allowed leave the car front of the hotel extrance opposite to taxi stop. This hotel does not fit any longer to customers with a vechiles. Breakfast, those meatballs, sausages and limited selection of veggies, should be replaced already to more tasty ones, so many years so many breakfasts, it has always been the simple same. Small freezer besides the reception, drinks for sale late night but forexample Saku 0,33 liter beer what costs 50 cents in the Alko shops will be sold 4,5 Euros in the reception, it is unbelivable greediness,..lol
I arrived in the evening and was given a room with a construction hole and wall view. The next morning (9 am) I woke up because my bed was shaking and there was a terrible noise from drilling on this construction. I went to the reception and asked for another room. They offered me another room on the opposite sidee with a close view on the neighbour hotel (I could see people doing their things, so I had to keep curtains closed all the time). The bedlinen was worn out with holes in the bedsheet. Beds are too narrow. We stayed from 28. December until 1.January and the cleaning wasn't made even once. I didn't have breakfast, but my friend did and she told me that it was really poor. Wifi connection is rather poor, too. Forget about watching videos, you will be lucky if you can browse your Facebook page without problems. I had birthday during my stay and I got fruit plate as a gift from hotel (one apple, one orange, one banana, one strawberry and a small bunch of grapes), which was unexpected, but pleasant. I also have a students card and I know that they have a tiny discount if you are a student, but it only works if you book on their site. I booked via ****ing and I couldn't apply my card. When I arrived and asked about my discount they told me that they cannot help me with it. So be careful and book on their site if you are a student and want to get your discount. + friendly staff; birthday fruit; close to the city centre and 10 minutes walk to the supermarket. - poor Wifi; bad bedlinen; unsufficient breakfast and terrible coffee; no fridge or tea kettle in the room; not soundproof - you can hear people walking in the corridor and noise from neighbour rooms; too expensive for what they offer.
Had a room facing the street & had to check 3 times if the window was open/broken, as it was so noisy that it felt as if we were sleeping on the street. Didn't get much sleep at all. Only got a "I'm sorry" the next day we told them about the problem.
The room was pretty small but it was clean. Location was nice to get to old town. It was weird that there was no air conditioner ’cause there was very hot at night. Breakfast was standart, but we were dissapointed that there was no beacon and the warm food was cold (potatoes, sausages etc.) altought we were eating at 09.00 am. Just okay to stay one night.
+ very kind and helpful staff at reception + great location + good pricing +/- decent breakfast - it is not possible to change the temperature in the room - in November it was too cold for me. - old-fashioned amenities I can surely recommend this hotel for rather short-term, low-cost staying. Not if you can spend more money or wish to spend more than 3 nights in Tallin.
The hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance to the historic city centre. The rooms are basic but clean. The breakfast includes a good variety of food. The only down side is that there are few restaurants in the area around the hotel.
I chose Tallink Express Hotel mainly because of its proximity to the passenger terminal. After my stay in Tallinn, I went on to Helsinki by ferry. As I had booked a passage early in the morning, proximity to the passenger terminal was vital. I really liked the color of my hotel room (green is my favorite color anyway). The room was clean and big enough for me. Same goes for the bathroom. Tallinn old town is just a 10 minutes' walk away, as is the new business district (Viru keskus, Roterman quarter). I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet as it offered some local food too (Latvian dark bread, salted herring, etc).
I have never stayed overnight so "far away" from Viru centre which I regard as the center of the town. This time we were travelling with the whole faminy (4 persons) and the car, arrived by the Tallink shuttle. Parking was good and easy, just leave your car there and tell the licence number at the check-in. The room itself was clean and okey, maybe a little bit too small for 4 persons to stay, but it was our choice. Still I would not call it "family room". I disliked the wall-to-wall carpet. The shower room was nice and modern. We stayed over 3 nights and every morning the breakfast was the same. No bacon, no toaster, otherwise okey. The hotel next door has a good a la carte restaurant and a small spa. We enjoyed them. They are easy to access, just take the passageway inside. We also used taxi services, which are available at the front door. I would recommend this to those travelling with own car. Or those who do not want to pay much for the room, but want some luxury available from the hotel next door.
10 minute walk from Tallink Terminal and on edge of old / new town. Plenty of public transport around and near to tour bus routes. Hotel staff in all areas were polite / friendly / helpful and the hotel throughout was clean and well appointed. The more upmarket hotel is connected and its facilities can be used if required.Breakfast was good choice / quality. Would certainly return.
