Very spacious three bed apartment with all facilities you'd expect including laundry. Decor a little dated but that doesn't impinge on your stay. Small pool and gym on site. No restaurant. Located close to Harbour Bridge and tours will pick you up from outside. Close to metro
Older style apartments don't worry me but for the first time in many many years of staying at The York and no where else in Sydney this loyal customer isn't happy because standard of cleanliness has slipped! For a price of $351 per night it just isn't good enough. It's downright shabby. Even a hole in the curtain?
Room was big but it is obviously a few years old. I didn't mind, great location, Right across the road from Wynyard Station. Fast and free Wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful, check in and out was easy and quick.
Invited 2 colleagues to share with me, I was embarrassed the moment I opened the door.. huge stains on the carpet, I understood it wasn't refurbished but wasn't prepared for the state of disrepair ! Requested extra blanket and it arrived filthy , couldn't sleep with it. Doona without a cover sheet... lounge torn, door patched up, one shocked nurse!
Plus: Location- walking distance to circular quay / the rocks/ opera house/ Harbour bridge/ darling Harbour Good size and well stocked kitchenette Minus: Patchy wifi Dated look Limited options to eat out during the weekends
Got the train from the airport, apartments are very close to Wynyard station. Tip: take the Clarence St exit as there are no stairs to climb, turn right and the York is about 100m up the road. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and were very impressed with the size and layout. The apartment had a hallway, really good size kitchen and living/dining area, bedroom down the hallway with a full size bathroom that had a bath and a separate shower. There was a second bathroom and a separate laundry with washer and dryer. The lounge area had two sofas which were very comfortable. TV had free to air and pay tv channels. The kitchen was well appointed with dishwasher and a coffee machine. The bedroom was a good size with plenty of wardrobe space and a chest of drawers, and a very comfy bed. Location is really good, a short walk to The Rocks and Circular Quay one way and a very easy walk to Darling Harbour the other. Easy walk to the shops and stores on George St also. We were there for 5 nights to take in The Vivid festival and found it to be a perfect location to do this.
From the moment we arrived early nothing was too much trouble. The bags were held for the morning and we arrived we found a fantastic one bedroom exec apartment. Huge space with a massive lounge, 2 bathrooms, spacious bedroom and 2 couches with a great book selection. The room was modern, clean and well kept. This was a fantastic hotel in a perfect location in the heart of Sydney 2 mins walk to the train station. We definitely would visit again.
Would have to be the most uncomfortable sleep I have had in my life. The beds felt like the springs were going to pop through the mattress at any time, noisy as all hell whenever you moved. Mould in the shower, the sofas terribly uncomfortable and in desperate need of replacement due to wear. The whole apartment needed a good clean, paint job and rejuvenation. Won't be staying here again.
This was a great find! We had a family trip to Sydney and stayed here in a 2 bedroom apartment. Great location. Huge rooms with great kitchen and living area. Bathrooms were clean and well fitted out. The balconies are tired. But the internal decor is pretty good. I'd definitely stay here again.
Our apartment was quite large, with a balcony and was well equipped, located on the 10th floor. The kitchen, lounge and bedroom area of the studio apartment were well appointed and in good repair. The bathroom was clean although noticeably old. It had a full bath and separate shower, as well as equipped with a dryer and washing machine. The onlyl problem I had with the room highlighted the age of the bathroom facilities. The shower door got stuck.. really stuck, quite unable to open... stuck! . A little maintenance or a complete bathroom renovation will help enormously. Overall, a pleasant stay, Coles is close by, the Wynyard train station is also within 2 minutes walk. It also isn't too far a walk to Circular Quay, Barangaroo and to the main shopping area.
