North Sydney Harbourview Hotel

Enjoyed our one night stay so much during the Vivid Festival, we recently returned for a two-night stay. Check-in/out is fast and efficient, the staff understand the value of customer service and the room (at least the harbour view rooms we've had each time) are excellent. Hotel restaurant has a fairly extensive and reasonably-priced dinner menu. However there are also many nearby restaurant options, especially in Blues Point Road. The hotel is well-situated for public transport into the city or North Shore region. If looking to stay for leisure (as opposed to business), I'd recommend regularly checking the hotel website as there are some good deals to be had, some including breakfast (of the as-much-as-you-can-eat variety).

its ideally located if you need to do business in north sydney. its practically on top of the North Sydney rail station, which it makes it quite convenient. the rooms are clean, but pretty small, including a small bathroom. the work desk is tiny, so if you need to do work from it... its pretty hard. the wifi is ok, but the daily password thing, which you need to ask the reception for a new password everyday is pretty antiquated these days... but it works. as I had to do most of my work in North sydney it was quite a convenient location... but pretty average otherwise.... no gym onsite either... you an buy a pass to the nearby fitness first... but nothing onsite...

First time on the north shore and we were very impressed. The area was clean and quiet and the train station was a 2 minute walk away and only another stop before going over the Harbour Bridge which was great views as a bonus. 5 minutes and you were back in the centre of Sydney. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Ask for a harbour view room on a high floor - views outstanding back across the bridge and Sydney.

We have stayed here often & we will stay again soon. Best views-best staff-best weekend deal. North Sydney Harbourview is the best place to stay... *awesome views from our room. *easy 10 min down hill (lol) walk to luna park to jump on a ferry to circular quay or darling harbour. *when you have had enough of the city jump in a taxi (about $15 from circular quay) head over the sydney harbour bridge back to your photos below are taken from inside our room.

Four of us stayed this past Saturday night on the Romancing with a view package. Check in was fast and efficient . The welcome back from the Receptionist was well received as was the card in the room noting our 5th visit. The car parking spaces down the ramp I found very tight even though I was only driving a small car. The room was clean with plenty of supplied amenities and the bottle of bubbly , with chocolates , ready for our arrival. Dinner was superb with excellent attentive service from Emily. The bar was busy but friendly . Buffet breakfast was well stocked but the offered coffee is awful , we should have ordered proper coffee , at an extra cost. Check out was equally fast and efficient. We really did not have an issue with the train noise , just a rumbling in the distance. A great stay , thank you.

Stayed in room 1205 for a 1 night stay pre cruise. When we opened up the front door we were totally blown away by the view over lavender bay and the Sydney harbour. The following morning we watched the cruise ship coming up the harbour and dock at the quay. The room had plenty of room and was extremely clean and well maintained. Had buffet breakfast which was first class prior to leaving for the overseas terminal with a transfer from the hotel which was all inclusive in the package price. Most definitely would recommend this hotel. Fantastic location.

Charged for breakfast after being repeatedly told that breakfast was not required. Staff extremely argumentative refused to call management and threatened Police involvement and would not accept any payment that did not include the breakfast add on.

We stayed at the Harbourview for a week which included New Years Eve. We enjoyed the gala dinner even though the outside location was under threat from rain - false alarm! We had a fabulous view of the Harbour Bridge from our room and we went up to the 13th floor to take our photos at midnight and were not disappointed. The rest of the stay was good as the hotel is very near to North Sydney Station and the ferries at McMahon Point. Bar food was more than adequate at the end of busy days.

This hotel has been around for a while as we remembered it as the old Travelodge from the 1970's. The rooms themselves are a good size but the bathrooms are annoyingly small. The sink (small) is very low and you need to bend right over to use it. However, the hotel has been well maintained and is on top of the railway station. The trains can be heard/felt as they pass along but it does not take long to forget that. Trains into the CBD and Circular Quay were not a problem. We had a room over the Australia Day weekend and had a great view of the festivities (especially the fireworks at night). We did not use the bar or restaurant and preferred to use facilities outside the hotel of which there are plenty. Would recommend this hotel.

The North Sydney Harborview hotel provides superb views of the Bridge and Lavender bay. Not a new hotel, but well maintained and staff are really friendly. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, but be sure t ask for a room on the harbor side - there are rooms on the back side of the hotel and while a little cheaper, they have a boring outlook. One other minor thing to be aware of is that the hotel is located above the train tracks and so lower floor rooms can hear them and occasionally feel the vibrations also... not a big deal, but would recommend asking for a room above the 6th floor (where the views are better also).
