ibis Sydney World Square

Recent guest reviews

Easy to get to from the rail system, and conveniently located near fun stuff: shopping, dining, malls, museums.

Great, central location. Small room, but that is what I expected. Food is overpriced so we never ate there. No free wifi....it is $22 a day.

Location very good, close to shops and Chinatown, next door to World Square complex. Staff helpful enough, but centrally controlled air con was annoying. Room was very small!

Centrally located hotel. In few minutes on foot, you can be in Chinese district, Hyde park, Darling Harbour, Sydney tower eye, museums, bus stops, shopping malls...etc. In return you pay very less...

Really nice location, must admit that. But on average very small rooms, no WI-FI, expensive breakfast...

Not clean, Not friendly staff, Not a good value. I would not recommend.

chose location to be near train and downtown, was great for this. bed was very comfortable, room very small for two with luggage, only one chair and a poor one at that and poor lighting to read. price was great for this location.

The staff at the hotel were great! The room on the other hand was older. The air conditioner barely worked and the beds were like concrete. I ended up going to a different hotel on the fourth day of being there just to get a pleasant, good nights rest.

The room was small, but it was only there as a place to sleep. In-room internet was pricey, but the breakfast buffet was ridiculous at $20! I've had better included for free in hotel rooms at 2/3 the price. The A/C unit had an oscillating fan, which stopped oscillating halfway through my stay. One of the two lights built-in to the headboard did not work. The hotel included a card in my check-in package saying they would automatically charge me $1/day for a charity unless I opted out. I called the front desk to ask about the charity, Mission Australia. I asked if it was religious and was told "No, it's not. All the money goes to the children." (Apparently the two are mutually exclusive in Australia.) :-) I then double-checked on the web and sure enough, the gentleman at the front desk was wrong. The charity's purpose is to bring glory to the Christian god. I made sure I opted-out. So, an opt-out plan and staff that doesn't know about the charity they're collecting for.

Ibis Hotel is ideally located. Walking distance to China town and the city center and George St. We were really happy we picked this hotel in Sydney. Although the rooms were not that big, it was very clean. Shower area was a bit cramp though.

Generally good, but even when I hung a tag, staff entered my room and cleaned.

Moderately priced and excellent location. Everything is an extra charge however and did not provide luggage storage that was expected for repeat stays. Very friendly staff

The hotel was in a good location, and the staff were efficient, but the room itself had many broken or decrepit features. Also, there was a huge red stain on the floor - it just looked nasty. Finally, I felt like the staff responded to my comments with the attitude of so, what? rather than I am sorry the room has some problems; we apologize that it didn't meet your expectations. To be honest, the location was good enough, and the bed comfortable enough, that I don't want to complain too much, but I must say, I have stayed in Ibis hotels in other countries where the facility itself was in MUCH better condition. Maybe this Ibis hotel was a fluke.
