Maze Backpackers

One star is too generous for this dive. The rooms are dirty and come with their own family of cockroaches. The bathrooms are decorated with mould and rust. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everyone and everything including hoovering late at night and other "late night activities" that aren't covered up by the music they attempt to disguise it. There's no free wifi which makes finding ulterior accommodation difficult. I wouldn't eat from the kitchen if I was dying from starvation since it seemed to breed its own brand of dirt and unique smell. Avoid this place like the plague unless you enjoy sleepless nights in a room smaller than a prison cell.

Cheep and central to Sydney CBD, big kitchen. BUT VERY VERY hot in rooms as the bedrooms don't have AIRCON. I would stay again just not in Summer or during walm spring weather. Plenty of drinking spots , good cheep eating places and a supermarket across the road.

Maze Backpackers was an awesome place to stay. The front desk staff were really helpful and held my luggage for me when I showed up earlier than checkout time. I got a lot for my money, free food and nights out on town were the cherry on top!

Stayed here for a few days and had a great time. Everyone is really nice, things are neat and it's in a great location. Plus there's free food and free drink tickets, which is always a bonus! All in all I would definitely recommend staying here.

Always have an amazing time at Maze! Super cheap, really friendly and accommodating staff and right smack bang in the middle of the city. Walking distance from 3 major stations means I can go anywhere in the city I like so easy! Will definitely be back soon!

Everyone was super friendly, the rooms were nice and the staff were great! The location is super convenient and easy to find, I highly recommend this place, I know ill definitely be staying there again. 😊

I'm not a huge fan of hostels but I've been staying in maze now for a few weeks and love it! From the second i arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. You never pass reception without a friendly welcome. I forgot to renew my stay 2 days ago and Nick done me a huge favour by moving things around so i could stay with my friends, he didn't have to but he went out of his way to help me out... Much appreciated! Thanks guys! 😁

This hostel is by far the best I've been in since my stay in and around Australia. The bathrooms are clean and tidy and you feel more than comfortable using them (unlike some gross hostels). The beddings are crisp white sheets with no stains which seems to be hard to find on a budget and quilts, QUILTS! After travelling around and being knackered this is a perfect place to come!!! so happy with our choice of hostel. Also, Tuesdays is free burger night and they are delicious! :) Recommend this place 100%.

Very basic hostel - absolutely massive; not called ‘the maze’ for nothing! Rooms a bit like a prison cell, but definitely does the job for somewhere cheapish to stay. An amazing location and very near the station! Showers could have been cleaner but a very well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed my stay here and the location made it for me.

Very basic confort, including taking a double room (One bed with a fan between four white walls). Shared showers and toilets were dirty with some broken windows. Window of the room also did not close well... and since room was just equipped with a fan (not conditionned air neither "calefaccion"), I spent one winter night there freezing cold. Also noisy between people playing in the corridors and noise coming from the street. I finally finished my stay in the morning as the night started... freezing in the showers. Place to avoid :-(
