Absolutely disgusting! We arrived to a freshly painted room which still smelt like paint fumes and on the ceiling was spots of green mould. We asked for a refund so we could go elsewhere however that was denied so we where moved to another room which was slightly better. The showers and toilets smell like dirty feet all day every day. One shower block had mould growing around the silicone joints on the floor. Beds are like rocks, if your over 6 foot you wont fit in the beds. All the carpets throughout are badly stained and have a distinct smell to them. Seems like no rules here, people yelling at all hours of the night. If you are a clean backpacker with a sense of pride then this place is not for you. Prison would be cleaner and more peaceful.

If you want to stay in the centre of Sydney then this is the place. Stayed for 3 nights in a single room. While the bedding and towels were fresh and clean the place could do with new carpets and a paint job to tidy it up. Hot water every time I used the showers and even through it seemed busy I had no issue getting a shower. Looked to be lots of activities being organised and I was asked if I wanted to attend a tour the following day. Free pancakes on Sunday morning and burgers on Tuesday evening. Check for other social events. Huge kitchen and lots of food storage. 1 minute walk to a large supermarket and being on Pitt Street you are in the heart of the city. Reception staff were really helpful. I left my luggage when I first arrived as I couldn't check in early as the place had been full the night before. Second floor room was quiet. This place is a backpackers, it's not the Hilton so don't expect that. Mix of ages 18+ backpackers, locals and even a few like me 50+

The room was quite cram with shared 4 person, the ventilation wasn't that great especially when sleeping on the top bunk with only 1 small windows. No place to sit / no lounge and have to check in the room by 11 pm, cannot hang around the lounge areas. On the positive side, the staff member were quite helpful. it was OK stayed but not enjoying the environments. Jail house rock - it's a bit like that. Thanks

Pros: Near the Central Station, George St & Chinatown where you find everything! Good sized and affordable single room Comfortable Bed Adequate shower facilities Con: No heater in the room - very cold!

Clean, great people, good staff, perfect location, couple of minutes by walk to the central station. The booking value is ok, a lot of free activities and party. The hostel is very international and it feels like a big family

Big place with clean facilities, the rooms are a bit cold in winter but the welcoming is great and employes do everything to make you feel on board. Free meals, free help, free activities, the coordination is great.

Booked here for a night on the 7th June for my last night in Sydney. The hostel is in a great location to explore the whole city with everything in good walking distance. The rooms are simple and just what you need plus the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable so just what you need when visiting Sydney for a few days!..

This is one of the best places we found in Sydney for your money. It's probably the cheapest hostel in sydney! They have lots of fun activities including free food nights, and had a 2 person dorm which was perfect for us. The place is huge and fairly well maintained, the kitchen clean and well-equipped with enough space to accommodate large amounts of people. They limit how long you can stay for too so you don't get all the long-termers who tend to be quite messy!

I been staying regularly in Sydney for work since Nov 2015 and have always returned to Henry and his team at Maze. I have never any trouble checking in and enjoyed interacting with the staff there they all are very nice and friendly (especially the beautiful girls they have at reception). The bed linen is always clean and the showers always have hot water no matter what time of the day! Great location near Chinatown and close to Central Station. Did I forget to mention the free burgers on tuesday nights???

We came here after trying anotherr hostel and we find here a really good place where to stay Cheaper than others, even if you stay in a private room, people cleanning every minute, silent, with clear rules. We haven't suffer any party or being with noise people. The people from the reception is super nice and always smiles, and Maze also has "nights or free food for everyone" Hamburguers, rice with chicken... It doesn't matters where you come from, you will feel in home here.
