My daughter and I were traveling after she had studied in Perth for a few months. It was my first time backpacking and staying in a hostel. We had a clean room, accommodated for after hours check in and early check out. Also very accommodating to us when we missed our flight and needed internet.
Just a 5 minute walk from Central Station and a 10-15 minute walk from Town Hall. Very easy to catch the Airport train, just takes 15 mins. Best part were the free Pancakes at the weekend and Pizza night - a lot of people come together, have some drinks in the TV room. Perfect place for international backpackers and travelers!
I get you get what you pay for, and for Sydney, this place is cheap. But it's almost overpriced for what you get. Location wise, it's ok. Right next to Central station so if you have to get an early train, it's ideal. In terms of nightlife, for a backpacker, there's not a lot in the area, so you have to venture out. The area the hostel is in, isn't the safest at night, especially as a solo female. After chatting to another girl in the hostel, she'd had similar experiences when walking back late at night. Room is cramped. It would have been cramped with 2 people, never mind 4, plus luggage. They were also moldy. The place needs a massive revamp. Beds have no sides on them, so if you're in top bunk, just hope you don't fall out at night. You only get given a thin sheet, no duvet. And it gets freezing at night. And there was no air con, just a moldy old fan in the corner, that whenever you switched it on, balls of fluff flew out of it. The kitchen was small, but ok. A lot of people staying in this hostel are long term. Not very sociable. Toilets and showers were pretty grim. On the other hand, the lovely female member of staff that worked there was very helpful. Wouldn't stay again, or recommend.
The room was not what was expected. The place was not in very good order. The shower hadn't been cleaned, there were footmarks in it and generally was dirty. There were cockroaches having a parade. The bed was pretty lousy too. You get what you pay for.
Was here for a short nap before I catch some event early morning. very close to the Sydney Central Station. Did not expect much but the bed was rocking heavily from any movement. I got the top bunk and I was worried whenever I climbed I will topple the bed. They should use sturdier bed frame or clamp the bed frame to something so it wont move. Shower was good enough. Internet although free, was not acceptable as I cant connect it and use social media with out some lags. Didnt expect it much anyway. BTW if you're coming late after 8pm, you need to call to enter. Without booking there is no way you can get in after 8pm.
The placed was not too bad to stayed. It was very convinient cause it really closed to the central train station and close to city centre too with just some short walked. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. The room was quite clean and quite wide. Toilet was ok and so was the kitchen as well. Ovarall, ok stayed.
Stayed in a 4 bed dorm, two night stay over. Second visit to Home and always been a good stay. For the price it's clean, lockers in the rooms, security front door, close to central and restaurants, friendly staff and free WiFi.
The staff here are really helpful and friendly, great location and not a party hostel! The rooms are clean and the general vibe is really good! Highly recommend! Will defiantly be staying again in the near future!
Although in a great location this was honestly the worst hostel/hotel I have ever stepped foot in, can't say stayed as I checked into a hostel down the road at 11pm shortly after arriving. I have stayed in 3rd world countries on numerous occasions all with better cleanliness. We had booked 2 rooms, one for 4 of us which was disgusting and another for 1. Our friend was given our linen and key earlier in the day as we were arriving late. Although the linen was clean nothing else was. Pillows yellow from sweat. Mattress protector filthy and had bodily fluids including blood on it. Cockroaches throughout the room. We had previous spent 6 days in the centre of Cyclone Debbie in a flooded apartment with no water, electric or sanitation. Sleeping on mattresses on a floor covered in water, so for me to refuse to stay here shows how bad it was. The photos we saw when booking are in no way representable to the room we were given. Another member of our party spoke to management and we were given a refund for our second night however not the first. They did try to say we were refunded two our of three nights however the third we had actually cancelled immediately after booking due to flights. Do not book into this hostel, the Big Hostel just down the road is the place to book!
My boyfriend and I stayed here and we loved it, the staff were really friendly and we met loads of nice people as well. Its really close to everything only like a 10 min walk away from CBD. The central station is only up the road which was really convenient for us. The hostel was cleaned every morning and night i noticed which was good. Just want to say thank you to the Manager and the Staff for everything, you guys were so helpful. See you again when we are back in Sydney x
