Stayed here as an overnight getaway and thought Cronulla would be nice, which it is. Rooms were nice, sryled nicely, a very beachy feel. Bed was queen which I am sure it said upon booking but small compared to what is on offer at other hotels. Was a bit pricey but I suppose that comes down to location. I thought for the price windows would have been double glazed but just standard window/sliding door, could hear cars beeping their horns quite clearly from the 10th floor. Bathroom was updated. Was disappointed with the TV, it had a white light that shone brightly when the tv was turned off, attempted to try and fix but was too tired. I know i could habe turned it off at the powerpoont but when you are half asleep you generally dont think logically. The block out curtains also only work if positioned correctly, wasn't overly happu to wake up at 7am on a Sunday due to the light that found it's way into the room over the top of the curtain. Look it's not a bad place, I just don't think I would choose to stay there again. Personally think Parkroyal hotels are much better than Rydges....sorry.
Returned to my old him town for a one night stay here and it was fantastic. The renovated rooms are beautiful. When I checked in online I requested a room with best view so I was very pleased when I was allocated a total ocean front room on level 10. Absolutely stunning billion dollar view. Total magic. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for three nights. Staff were very friendly, rooms were great and it was close to everything. Had both a dinner and breakfast here and the food was very good. The Steak was excellent! Nice little bar as well for some quiet drinks with friends. Good facilities for business meetings/conferences as well
My family stayed at Eventhouse Cronulla to attend a family function in Cronulla as we always do, After our function at 9.30 pm we went to the bar to have a few drinks, While we should have enjoyed the complimentary drink, a staff member started moving furniture around by pushing several pieces across the floor next to where we were sitting. The vibrations on the wood floor and screeching of said procedure was worse than someone scrapping their nails on a blackboard, after the second time we complained but did offer to help him lift the furniture Staff members/s then proceeded to turn volume of music up so loud, we had to yell to have a conversation we were going to have a few drinks and meet there with others but duo to the response we got we went elsewhere
I had not been here since the previous year while I was training, the new look inside is great, the room updates are well thought out, the view is always good. The distance from the beach means the ocean can be smelled from the rooms. The only issue I had was last review I mentioned there were not enough wall plugs in the room near the bed, I use a c-pap machine to breathe at night, and to unplug the light so I can use my machine is just a pain. Last time I wrote a review I was written back being told my recommendations had been looked at....such as the barely-warm iron and the wall plugs, there were more double adapters etc so this issue would be fixed.....well not on this visit....leaving the clock radio plugged in I removed the lamp plug so I was able to get somewhat of a sleep using my machine. I left the phone plugged ion on the desk which was no issue as when the alarm goes off.....you have to get out of bed, but if you are told things were being rectified, you would think it would happen, shame, as it is a good place to stay.
We've been staying here for over 8 years at least once year. Was part of Rydges chain. Great location, fabulous views (always pay the extra for sea vie its worth it). Great location and friendly staff. Will miss my Rydges rewards:-(. One complaint, the new so called room fridges are just coolers and don't keep anything cold, Did speak to hotel and they advised they cocked up when ordering and know they don't work. Rooms and bathrooms a little tired and old for the price.
The location was ideal, the rooms spotless, the TV was huge, the service top notch and within walking distance to the beach and lots of places to eat, would recommend Eventhouse any day, and will be back next year.
A pleasantly appointed Queen sized refurbished room with a balcony and gorgeous view overlooking Cronulla Beach. The package included a delicious buffet breakfast in the bright spacious restaurant. Reception and restaurant staff were professional, attentive and very friendly. The hotel is in a perfect location close to to shops, cafes, restaurants, cinema, clubs and the beach. The only negative (very minor) was the television was in the middle of the room on the wall with the bed on one side and the sofa on the other so wherever you sat you had your head turned the whole time you were watching tv (the tv could not be moved).
Stayed here in 2010 and so knew what to expect. Great location, clean comfortable room, amazing views of the beach. Very pleasant staff. Not sure about the name change but everything else was great. Would definitely recommend.
I spent 2 nights in a standard hotel room. I arrived a couple of hours early and was able to check in at lunchtime which was appreciated. It had a beachy theme with colourful casual furniture in the sitting area and bright tiles in the bathroom. The balcony offered fabulous views of the ocean and fresh air in the room. The location of the hotel is directly opposite the beach and restaurants and casual dining is within walking distance. The hotel has a restaurant on site, and I did have a light breakfast on one of the mornings after exchanging my room servicing for a $10 voucher. The breakfast options were fairly standard. Parking attracts a fee, but on street parking is metered and there is not a lot available. As a PGR member I did receive a 10% discount and a free drink on arrival.
