Stayed on level 2 of this property in a twin room which had a balcony/verandah overlooking The Kingsway and the beach. The room was very nice and had a huge verandah with a small outdoor setting. The bathroom was lovely with a rain shower and double sinks. If I ever stay at this property again I would ask to be on the highest floor possible. As the name of the property implies, this hotel has a couple of function rooms and hosts various social events including 18ths, 21sts, weddings, etc and invariably many of the guests attending these events also stay at the hotel. There can be a lot of noise from other guests which can lead to quite an interrupted sleep. We had to call down to reception after we returned to our room after being out at another venue, only to find our verandah littered with cigarette butts, empty cigarette packets and spilled drinks which had come from somewhere above us. The property is non-smoking but this does not appear to deter some people. We had the mess cleaned up by a staff member at approx. 1am, only to be woken again about 15 minutes later by a party in the unit next door to us. When we got up the next morning our verandah was again covered with butts, empty cans and spilled drinks. The hotel was very good in compensating us for our inconvenience but for a hotel priced at this level, I believe they should be a little more discerning when accepting certain function bookings. Out tariff was $300 a night but another guest we met who was very unhappy about the noise, had paid $450 per night. Excellent customer service by hotel staff.
We were booked into a top floor, two bedroom suite. It was great for our family of 6. With two completely separate bedrooms both with TV and bathrooms. Off a living area which had a small area for making drinks etc, fridge, bench space. I couldn't really call it a kitchenette as you couldn't really cook and the sink was tiny. Still perfect for us to have our own breakfast etc in the room ( cereal). The balcony was only tiny but the views were amazing. We were facing the park opposite which was great as my husband took the kids down and I could still watch them from above while the baby slept. The walks and cafes, mall etc is directly below so definitely can't the the location. The cleaner too was lovely and went out of her way to work around us. The room was full of natural light and the beds nice and comfy. The restaurant area down stairs offers coffee etc with a playpen with kids toys so you can enjoy your hot coffee :). A nice touch you don't see often. This is too the side so if you do not wish to be near kids it is fine too. The pool area was simple but the kids loved the pool and it was quiet. You also have the beach literally right there.
A hotel close to a long sandy beach, close to bars and restaurants. Clean and tidy rooms with optional sea views, pool and restaurant bar. Great staff from reception to room cleaners. Also has another restaurant attatched
We have stayed at this Hotel several times over the past years, but not since the hotel has under gone its renovation from Rydges to Eventhouse. For our 21st wedding anniversary we chose to stay. The renewed rooms are excellent, very modern and in keeping with the beach area in which the hotel is located. Excellent shower with lots of hot water, comfortable beds and an amazing view from the balcony, perfect for watching the surfers. The standout for this property are the staff, what an awesome team! Throughout our stay we encountered a number of staff, all happy to help, positive and welcoming. Possible our only criticism are the mirrored wardrobe doors and the unexpected guests in the lift! All in all and excellent stay
Did not have a first good day, but the reception staff especially a girl by the name of Ashley, changed this to make our second day a great stay, this girl went out of get way to help my wife and myself, by moving us to an upper floor with a great view of the beach and a very nice room, I don't think I have ever had a staff member go out of get way to make our final day great, she is an asset to the hotel.
First impression was great. Friendly and welcoming at reception. Our room was on the 7th floor with a lovely view. Went down hill after that. Checked out on Monday 25th Sept and rec'd a phone call later that afternoon asking whether a ceramic fish on the coffee table happened to go into our suitcase to which I replied that there was nothing on the table when we arrived. I was totally shocked to receive this call. I wonder if anyone would admit stealing anything....My husband called the next day to advise his disappointment at receiving this call as we have stayed in many hotels - particularly Rydges over the years and have never been accused of anything like this only to be told that they had contacted the people who were in the room prior to us who advised their child had taken this ornament home! No call to us to clear up things. Leaves a very bad taste and not sure whether I would like to stay here again.
Staff couldn't have been any better , they knew about the area , assisted with places to eat , as well as directing me to other conveniences in the area . Remembered me from one visit to the next , referenced conversations we had shared and made me feel very welcome . There are other hotels of the same rating but the staff make this hotel worth coming back to . Pity more stars aren't given for that .
We arrived at the car park entrance, pressed the buzzer and the garage door opened immediately. Caught the lift up to reception - very impressed - bright, modern and stylish. We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and given the key to our room which was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the beach. Our room was also bright, modern and stylish. Both our room and bathroom were very very clean - impressed for sure. The location of the hotel was perfect for us - very close to the restaurants and beach. A very pleasant experience.
What a great place to stay. Staff are friendly. Buffet nice. Located across from the beach. 24 hours of happiness. Would love to stay here again. Get a balcony overlooking the beach if possible it would be definitely worth it for the view.
A giant, incredibly noisy jackhammer started digging up the street immediately outside my room at 9.10PM. The noise was so loud I couldn't even watch TV in my room, despite being on the 7th floor. I went down to the front desk to complain and was told that "they often stop after a while". I went out to film the roadworks on my phone and was told by a worker to move back. Asking the worker if it would go on all night, I was told "probably". I replied that I was in a hotel room immediately above the work zone and was informed that I should have stayed somewhere else, and that there were "signs about the noise everywhere". On asking where "everywhere" was, I was told "all along the street"... very handy seeing I'd just travelled 340 km. I went to a nearby bar for a couple of hours, but the racket was still continuing when I returned at 11.15PM. Upon entering the lift and punching in my floor (7), I was intriuged to find that the lift stopped at every floor up to 6, then returned to the underground carpark! Eventually I got back to my room to enjoy the infernal din outside. it is now 11.45 and it continues unabated. This is without doubt the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Avoid Eventhouse Cronulla at all costs! Do not, I repeat NOT, consider staying here!
