this Hotel is in an area where many tech and pharma companies are located and therefore ideal for business accommodation with such companies. the quality is a typical Mariott hotel standard. for noise sensitive people you should ask for a room on the other side to the Main Street. Cost-wise it is about half price compared t a similar hotel in the city center and therefore a good and cost efficient alt native, especially as the tcity Ian starting is close and trans are commuting to the center about every 10 minutes. breakfast was not included in our rate. We just took a coffee in the beackfast bar downstairs . There was an Asian looking bar keeper and he was super friendly and super helpful. He was always there when we came. He gave us great recommendations how to get to certain places and what elsemis worth seeing in Sydney. So if he is still around when you get to this hotel don't hesitate asking him.
We had a pleasant stay here and chose this hotel mainly due to its good reviews and location near a wedding venue we were visiting. Arriving at 8am full of jet lag it was great to find that they had the room ready at no extra charge. They also offered us breakfast which gave us a fresh start from the long travel. We did however find out at checkout that they would charge us for parts of the group - although my booking clearly stated 4 people and breakfast included they still demanded a part charge. Never had this before, so make sure to check your booking with the hotel in advance if you book through a hotel booking page like we did. So to the surprise. My daughter forgot her stuffed animal (a frog) in the hotel - her favorite “cannot live without” since birth. A big tragedy obviously, but luckily it was identified by the hotel. We picked it up the next day with the cryptic message that the frog had a great time with them, and first understanding what they meant when an email ticked in a little later. We then got a nice pack of photos showing the stuffed animal doing all sorts of things in the hotel. Relaxing in bed, working in the kitchen, reading a magazine and sitting in the reception. A very cool gesture and a very nice surprise for our daughter taking home an extra memory from the trip to Sydney. I am sure it was a lot of fun for the staff as well!
16/1/18 Car broke down, stuck in Pymbal. I call to book a room and reach James Deverich (Operations Manager). Concerned that we were walking around sydney after 10pm he came and picked us up himself. He upgraded our room for us out of the kindness of his heart. I can thank James and his team enough for that night. Love you James <3
Stayed at this hotel for a week long business trip. Usually stay at the Shangri-La and Grand Hyatt and found this to be far better. The rooms were good and the food very good but most importantly the staff were excellent in all areas and through the day always willing to go that extra mile. Will definitely use the hotel as my base for all future visits to Sydney. AD
As a regular guest at Courtyard North Ryde,I find the hotel to be of a very high standard. The service is excellent, from check in with front office manager Raul to breakfast being looked after by David,as a platinum SPG member they, with all the staff, and GM James go above and beyond to ensure my stays are first class. I find the rooms very modern, fresh, relaxing and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, you didn’t have to wait for long for anything. The facilities are well maintained and clean. I also used the gym on the top floor, it’s a decent size to do what i had to (treadmill, dumbbells, cable machine, stretch area and foam rollers just to name a few). Would stay again for business or leisure.
Arrived late and was given a complimentary mini bottle of red wine to relax in my room with! Plush pillows, and the bed and quilt were spot on and by far the most fluffy I have had in quite some time!
Wow what a trip! We have planned our trip to Australia with our girls over 7 months ago. What we didn’t realize was that we are landing on Christmas day. A few days before our travel our 6 year old (who still believe in Santa) started to get upset over the trip because she was worried that Santa will not find her in Australia and she has no way to tell him that she left. Knowing how important it was for her I decided to give the courtyard a call. I explained my issue and asked if there is anything they can do to put maybe Santa red socks in my rooms with my girls name on it. Although the hotel doesn’t have room service during the holidays they stated that they will try their best to accommodate our request. When we arrived on X-mas day we were tired and emotionally drained from the 24 hours of flying. The hotel had a minimum staff, but they knew exactly who we were and were ready for us,. Sure enough Santa did come! They had to big red socks with candies with the girls name on it!!! The expression on my 6 year old girl was priceless!!! Despite the holidays- the staff was AMAZING!!!! They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The daily breakfast was rich and divine, they remembered our name, how we liked our coffee and was trying to assist with EVRY request that we had. The hotel is also located next to the train station and is within the walking distance. We also booked a car for 6 days and didn’t have to pay for the parking …needless to say even to look for one. If you don’t want to pay the high hotel prices at downtown Sydney stay here! I am platinum member who travel over 100-150 nights and stayed in many hotels. This one by far is defined by its customer service! You know the phrase action speaks loader than words? Than that is exactly it! Thank you Courtyard Sydney for making us feel at home for the 10 amazing days! What an awesome way to start our year!
We use this hotel everytime we meed to go to Sydney for sports or concerts. Its an easy drive to homebush for sporting events at ANZ Stadium and concerts at QUDOS Arean. Its also a 3 minute walk to the train station if you want to go into the city. The beds are really comfortable and when we asked for feather free bedding, the quilt and pillows were changed straight away. Macquarie Centre shopping centre is about 1km away and its HUGE. Only quibble is i had to pay for parking that isnt even under cover, but having said that we did get a great rate by booking direct throught the hotel website. I internet is free and lightning fast.
Positives: The check in process was smooth and the hotel has complimentary Wifi and parking for patrons. The rooms are OK if you do not plan to do much apart from sleeping. Negatives: We had to request for tea/coffee supplies to be replenished atleast 2-3 times during our stay and the average turnaround time was 20 mins. The minimum was 5 mins and maximum we had to wait was 45 mins with 3 calls to the reception. On the second day of our trip we left in the morning and came back at around 2.30 pm and the room was not yet cleaned, we requested to get the room cleaned by calling the reception. We waited for 15 mins but no one showed up, we called again and another 15 mins wait. We called once more and finally someone showed up to clean the room after 40 mins. The second last day of our stay (31st Dec), we again left in the morning and when we came back at around 2.30-3 PM, the room were not yet cleaned and we again called the reception to get this cleaned as the calls to service staff went straight to voicemail. We waited 15 mins, hoping someone would show up but didn't. We were pretty tired and wanted to rest but had to wait for the cleaning staff. We called the reception again and were told someone should have come up, another 20 mins wait. Third time I called after 35 mins and was pretty unimpressed but still hoping to get some kind of service from the service staff, again was told someone should be there pretty soon. Again we waited for a while and then i kind of lost it at the lack of basic service from the hotel even after paying so much money to stay there and was pretty angry with the reception staff over the phone. Finally someone showed up but the person was not remotely interested in doing their job as they did not ask us about vacuuming the room or changing our sheets. They did not replenish the tea supplies and we had to call again to get those replenished. The mini fridge was empty and was not working at the optimum level, it was cooling at a very slow rate and after requesting the service staff to take a look were advised that a tech should come up to take a look but never did. The Exhaust in the bathroom did not work and after advising the reception were told someone would come up but never did. There was mold just above the bath tub and behind the sink which should have been looked at before providing the room to us. All in all it was a very poor experience.
