Courtyard by Marriott Sydney-North Ryde4.0 out of 5.0

We've been to Sydney many times, but this was our first stay here, prompted by the high room rates at Sydney CBD properties on the day we checked in. We had arrived from Canberra by train, transferred to the T1, and rode 30 minutes or so to the McQuarrie Park station. From there it was an easy one-block walk with our rollaboards down the street to the Courtyard. Our Marriott Gold status apparently snagged us an upgrade to a spacious and comfortable two-story suite on an upper floor. The hotel is modern and sparklingly clean. The restaurant offered a good variety of dishes for dinner, and the buffet breakfast was fine. The restaurant employees (as well as front desk staff) are genuinely friendly and welcoming. This is a solid four-star property, but its positive features coupled with a relatively bargain rate compared to "downtown," put it into the five-star category for us. We will definitely keep it in mind for future visits.
We have stayed at the Courtyard Marriott on numerous occasions over the years and have come to rely on it as a consistently good stay-over option for north Sydney. They often have breakfast-inclusive deals which are really handy if you are on a budget with ravenous teenagers. The breakfast selection offers a wide variety and is of reasonable quality. The rooms are good although it would be good if they had more access to fresh air. You have to pay for parking which is a bit lousy, and even lousier if the hotel is busy and you struggle to find a park. However if you are a Marriott member you are offered discounted rates. All up though, still a good option, particularly in comparison to other accommodation in the area.
Really pleased with my recent stay at this hotel. Excellent service from all staff across the board from reception, room service, housekeeping and the restaurant. Fantastic, delicious food too, at breakfast and room service. Looking forward to my next stay!
It is an average hotel. The price is too high for the standard. Room is relatively small but clean. Breakfast is just OK nothing too special, parking is only limited and is hard to find parking on some occasions
I stayed at this property for 10 days. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but what really made the stay five-star was the bar staff. Very attentive and personable, making a lone single traveler feel at home. The pints of Stella were perfectly cold. Every food recommendation was top notch. The fish and chips were amazing, especially the rosemary chips, The Indian dishes were stellar leading me to believe there was an accomplished Indian chef in the kitchen. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the prices were on par with other restaurants in the area. I really look forward to coming back as I feel I would be returning to friends.
Only stayed at the hotel overnight for one night for business in the local area. Staff were super efficient, rooms really clean and functional with plenty of powered USB ports for Charging all mobile devices with out having to fossick for wall plugs etc. Good restaurants immediately close by all in all a great experience.
Stayed for 2 nights in a double room - 2 adults and 2 kids. Room was spacious with a really large sofa. Bathroom was adequate, beds were great. Liked that they supplied extra pillows without us having to ask. Parking at $15 per day was reasonable. Room rate was very reasonable for 4 people and location was good for us as we were attending a conference at Olympic Park. Nice food across the road too.
I recently spent four nights at this hotel, I requested a quiet room away from all lifts. And that is exactly what I got. The staff in this establishment are wonderful all of them I cannot fault. The food was divine, Sunday night room service was a little bit average however every night that the restaurant was open the food was sublime. I was very surprised. The rooms are refurbished and very clean mine had a bath and the bed was very comfortable I was very happy with the price and the location to my work. I will definitely visit this establishment again it's excellent for business, really great value I highly recommend.
We spent one night in Sydney and selected this hotel as it is on the side of Sydney closer to where we were meeting family and friends. Our check in and reception by Veronica and her colleagues were so friendly and efficient. Being a Marriott Platinum member, wifi, car parking were complimentary and we were given two rooms next to each other on the top 8th floor. We thought both our two double bed rooms were spacious. They have nice balconies and are facing the Lane Cove Road with good views of the area. With the sliding doors and blinds closed, traffic noise was quite subdued and we slept well on the comfortable beds. Also, the rooms were very clean with timber laminate flooring, modern lighting and features. There were plenty of power points around the room. The steam iron and ironing boards looked brand new. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had plenty of hot and continental food choices. Service by the restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely, we will stay here again if visiting the area.
Overall what a lovely place! Found an amazing deal on Groupon and it has turned out to be a real bargain. I'm having a one night vacation from being a mum so I didn't mind where I went in terms of location - there is a really big shopping centre around the corner so I went shopping, got a massage and checked in here. The parking was complimentary in the deal I received, as well as wi-fi and a bottle of wine on arrival. All nice touches. The room is really pretty, with Scandi style decor and modern (room is on Level 5, with a large balcony but it unfortunately just looks out onto Lane Cove Rd and traffic). The bed is huge and as with all Marriott hotels, very comfy and luxurious. Each of the bedside lamps has a USB port which has come in really handy as I only had the USB cable with me to charge my phone, not the AC adapter. The only two drawbacks I can mention is that there are no pay per view movies on the TV and the foxtel channels are very limited, skewed heavily towards sport and news channels, neither of which appeal to me. Luckily I brought my laptop so Netflix will have to do. ... and the mini bar is very limited - no chips or nuts to tempt me in the middle of the night. Maybe that should be a positive.... Overall, very happy.
