The staff were just the most helpful. The community kitchen is clean and well equipped. The breakfast is basic with cereal or toast. Rooms are clean spacious and the noise from the road was minimal. There is limited off street parking. Walking distance to the RSL club which had reasonably priced meals. Our only problem was the toilet was leaking, it wasn’t repaired in the 3 days we were there not because the staff didn’t try. I think the owner did not approve the repair. It was a little inconvenient but didn’t really bother us. We enjoyed our short stay. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant experience.
My husband and I stayed at this little gem of a hotel as part of a cruise package deal. What can I say our room was quite big looking out on to the road bit noisy with traffic a few times but didnt bother us whatsoever the staff are very friendly and very happy to help with any information you may need .Breakfast was lovely cereals and numerous different breads jams etc as much tea and coffee as you like just loved the courtyard to plan your day in the morning time and to wind down with a cuppa in the evening after a long day sightseeing you also get a chance to get to know your fellow travellers as most people end their day in the courtyard .A fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook for yourself everything supplied you just need your food. A special thanks to Eddie the receptionist for all her help while we're we there. I would recommend this little hotel if you need somewhere to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the city great transport links at the doorstep and 10min walk to the station .
At a reasonable cost. It felt hostel like. But that didn’t bother us. Clean bedrooms and throughout. Comfortable beds. Amazingly friendly and laid back staff. We used bus during out stay (bus stop straight outside) though some people preferred using train station to commute (further down road). Can’t think of any downsides!
Chose this place as everywhere in Sydney was booked out or too expensive for New Years. Was still a bit pricey for what you get, but that is the peak time. Is normally a place for backpackers and people on a budget. Manor is a bit of a stretch in terms of grandeur but pleasant staff and continental breakfast is provided out on a bench as self service which I guess lets them get away with the cosy B & B name. The room was very basic, a small bouncy double bed which filled the whole space with a large modular desk which is an odd choice of furniture in a small room. Bathroom a bit run down and leaky. But clean sheets and a working TV. Service only every few days so our tiny bin was overflowing for a while. Only 3 parking spaces on a main road which is a pain and you are jealous of a large parking lot at the accommodation next door which was empty. About an 8 minute walk to the train station which is convenient. Would only stay here if it is a small budget or limited in choices.
The Ashfield Manor is a great little place to stay. Rooms are small, but have everything you need. There is a full self service kitchen with a attached dinning room or outside dinning area. Off Street parking is limited to about 4 spots, but there is lots of street parking all around. There is a bus stop within 500m to the door and a train station about 15 minutes walk. An Uber only cost about $15- 25 to the city, forget about calling a taxi to the Manor (taxi drivers tell me that they normally will not accept the ride); you are better going to the street and hailing one from the side of the road (they pass every few minutes. This is an old world charm hotel (B&B) and all the staff are friendly and welcoming.
A way out of central Sydney and in a more asian/arabic "end of town" but this is a little gem of a find. Rooms are spacious, cool and have own fridge - no view to ours other than a brick wall but not sure i would have wanted to look out shared bathroom, but always clean and never waited long to use - copious amounts of hot water! Kitchen is lovely - and free to use upto 9pm at night.... this is not mentioned on booking.com but SHOULD be as its a lovely kitchen, and the breakfast is plentiful no parking but you can pull up and unload, plenty of local street parking 15mins walk away staff super friendly and always available. quick walk to shops and lots of ethinic places to eat. sadly Sydney is not a nice place anymore.... but this hotel is lovely
The Ashfield Manor is a lovely quaint building on the outside with all the mod cons on the inside. Very well kept, has a very homely feel, rooms are modern, clean and uncluttered, lots of storage space, the bathroom area is large, fully tiled with all the necessary fittings, clean and fresh. Split aircon and ceiling fan in the bedroom, high ceilings and a TV way up on the wall above out of reach. Tidy well maintained commercial kitchen with all necessary cooking implements, crockery and cutlery all supplied for guest use. Dining area as well as a covered outdoor seating area in the garden. Lounge and reading room with many books as well as a study/computer desk with a very comfy office chair. Three coin operated washing machines and two coin operated dryers. Well managed and cared for premises. Will certainly return in the future.
My room was fine, facilities were ok. I’m just not that into sharing facilities, I like my own space. It’s a 10min walk from the train station, I had to travel to get to the course which was why I was in Sydney. So I’d catch a train to the city then bus out to the location to be there by 8.30am (no hotels close to the course location)and back again in the evenings after 7.30pm. This place was a recommended place to stay, which is why I booked into it. However I ended up cancelling my reservation after 5 days and moving to a hotel in the sydney cbd area just because public transport was easier from there. Otherwise I would’ve stayed, area is ok and hotel facilities were alright. Staff ok.
Lovely accommodation hotel with excellent service and friendly hotel staff. I spent 5 nights in this small hotel which is located near the Ashfield Train Station in Sydney. The rooms are small but clean. The breakfast is included in the price and it really saved me a lots time before I stated to work every morning. I can also prepare my own favorite meal by using the full kitchen facilities. The parking place is limited and I had to park my car in the closed small street and I took me several minutes to find a place. It is a normal problem in towns, but the 10-minutes-walking to train station gave me more convenience to reach the downtown. I love this hotel and will recommend it to all budget saving travelers.
Second visit to this hotel in 6 months. Still the best value for money hotel around Sydney, especially as the rates include breakfast. The manager in charge is always willing to help you, and despite the fact that we arrived at the hotel by 12 noon, one bedroom was ready, (the other not quite) so we were able to leave all our luggage in that room before heading to visit Sydney. the train station is 10 minutes away at walking pace. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
