Nice place to stay, everything was clean and tidy. Bed was very ordinary, but the bedroom was small and dainty. Not sure it was worth the money paid for average accommodation. The bar staff were friendly, and the breakfast was not worth having.
Our works Christmas party was held here, so we booked in for the night. The first impressions weren't great - the hotel is surrounded by scrub and close to the M4 motorway. There was a Christmas party already in progress for a major building firm, so the car park and receipt were wall to wall with tradies, including having to walk through a huge crowd of smokers to enter the hotel. The open plan reception / bar/ restaurant layout is a little weird but the clerk was friendly and professional. Our room was well equipped and very clean; the industrial vibe is not my favourite but did make a very stylish change from all the bland hotel rooms that I routinely stay in. The kitchenette had crockery, kettle, coffee maker, microwave and well stocked beer and soft drinks mini bar. Amazingly the mini bar was complimentary since we booked online - never heard of that one before. The Christmas party was hosted poolside - great location and friendly bar staff. The buffet food was average rather than amazing but a pleasant evening nonetheless. The bed was large and comfortable, my only complaint was the window blind didn't completely cover the window so I woke when daylight streamed into the room.

Booking the accommodation and the lead up to our stay was great. It was easy to book online and if I had any requests or questions the staff promptly replied to my emails and were so lovely. On arrival, the motel was clean, brightly decorated in an industrial theme with the younger generation in mind. The rooms were good in size unless you needed to use the sofa bed, which we did, this left very little room to manoeuvre around. Because the motel was designed for the younger people it meant that it wasn't family friendly. The glassware was stored low and with 2 kids, 1 being a toddler, everything had to be taken out and put up. Although there was a sink and microwave which were needed there was no washing liquid, I couldn't wash the babies bottles, we had to request some which we were told they didn't supply as the rooms were serviced daily. However we were supplied a tiny bit. The housekeepers were so nice and helpful, they are certainly a credit to the Atura. Ok lets take it downstairs. There's free computer/internet for the kids and lounges for the parents to watch them while having a coffee. There's a table tennis table and a pool although it states being heated was freezing! Haha. The coffee was nice and the little "shop" was handy. The restaurant was poor, I can't even rate it. The food was cold and horrible. The wait staff were unfortunately not helpful. We had booked for dinner and it was not set up, I had to ask twice. Dinner did not open until 6 which wasn’t helpful for kids who are hungry earlier. None of our “specials” were taken in to Account, also no welcome drink on arrival. It’s a funky place and clean but not family friendly. The food was the worst have had. Over all I don’t think I could stay there again.
A traveller would need a particular reason to stay at the Atura Blacktown, because it’s in the middle of nowhere. Its website talks about conferences and parties. I am sure it does that well, but comfortably accommodating the business traveller ‘ain’t its strong suit. It’s quite new, set in bushland, about a $120 cab fare from the airport, or $20 from Blacktown train station. The checkin was fine. The issue is the building - it’s like they moved in 6 weeks before it was finished, and trendy pictures are intended to take the attention from the unpainted concrete, exposed air conditioning ducts and wiring across the ceiling. There is only one lift, where the buttons are below waist height and you almost have to get down on your knees to see what floor to press. The door key sensor is a black sensor on a black door in a poorly-lit corridor - it took 5 minutes to work out how to open it. The bed head is plywood, the room a poorly lit concrete box with unpainted walls and ceiling (save for a large yellow dot painted on the ceiling to distract from the water leak stains from the day the concrete was poured)and a noisy aircon, the desk small and the chair tiny and plastic, can’t open the relatively small window. Free wifi is good. Sure, there is not a lot of choice on where to stay in Western Sydney, and the hotel appears to have pleasant staff, a nice pool and bar - but be prepared to face the ‘special style’ that is the Artura.
stay often for work, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable good meals although probably could update menus. Would recommend to all for the west if I had one issue phone reception is limited
Very quirky little setup, plenty of different things to do and see, twin screen drive inn out the back and Wet and Wild literally right next door. Not to mention the Cricketers Arms Hotel not more than 100m away. The hotel itself does have happy hour from 4-6pm $6 pints, which were more like schooners and the staff member that served us was more worried about getting her dinner from the kitchen than serving customers at the bar. All in all, very much enjoyed a great nights rest in the massive bed and loved the addition of the pod machine is an awesome inclusion. Would definitely go back, probably head up the road for better bar service though.
Booked Atura via Red Balloon movie and date deal. Was a nice experience. Room was nice with high ceilings. Lack of light but when you're just staying over night its not a huge deal. We had dinner there and it was SO good! Especially drinks. Breakfast was pretty average.
Wow... wow... wow.. Blown away with the quirky decorations.... Then blown away withe staff.... then blown away again with food!!!! A must to visit!! The mad hatters hightea is an amazing experience!! 22 of my friends and myself utterly enjoyed my hens with atura!!
We have stayed two years in a row now for a Motorsport event close by and have been reasonably happy with Atura Blacktown. The only down side has been that both years we have booked a room to sleep three adults in separate beds and both times when we have checked in an gone to the room we have found the room to be made up with only one queen bed, even after specifically requesting three separate beds when booking. They did split the queen into two singles after we pointed out the mistake, but the third bed was a fold out sofa bed. i find this annoying as on both occasions we specifically requested three separate beds and where never told that the third bed would be a fold out sofa. For the money i would have expected better than a sofa when specifically asking for a room with three separate beds.
