Sydney Harbour Bed & Breakfast

Good breakfast, perfect location, nice people, I choose one room with prívate toilette but some rooms share the toilette. The view from my room was incredible, I can see the opera house. I recommend this place for couples

We enjoyed our stay here, although the furniture and decor were a little run down. The room was a good size, but we couldn’t figure out how to turn off the bedroom lights. We ended up unplugging them. The breakfast was OK, except we had to bus the table because there were only 3 tables inside. Also, there wa no English Breakfast tea left. Perhaps someone needs to attend to the breakfast diners’ needs. Otherwise, our room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and we liked that we could leave the windows open.

The staff were great and very helpful and happy. The hotel was lovely and clean with comfy beds and a nice breakfast. Its a beautiful historic old Sydney home, in the centre of the Rocks, so easy to walk anywhere and we would definitely stay there again.

Chose the B&B for price and location and found the quality of the property to be much higher than the price of our stay. Beautiful and comfortable rooms in the center of Sydney's business area. Short walk to rail station that connects you to all the rest of Sydney. Wouldnt listen to the negative rubbish on here.

Returning to this wonderfully located hotel at the earliest occasion. Perfectly situated for visiting all the main attractions ie. the opera house bridge etc.rooms and especially the staff are warm and friendly. Always willing to help and make the trip/stay special.

Here are the positives: the location of the hotel allows you to do a quick downhill walk to the harbour and explore many of the cool spots in the Rocks. It has a taxi stand right in front of it, so if you have to catch a cab back to the airport -- voila! Don't even need to call. It is a short climb to get onto the walkway that leads to the gorgeous Harbour City Bridge Here are the negatives: TAKE SERIOUSLY the owners admonition about the fact that you will be hauling your suitcases up multiple narrow staircases. Our room (2nd floor) was way smaller than we expected and given that we were traveling for 44 days straight, we had pretty full suitcases. It was super hard to lay anything out in this room for the 4 days we stayed here because the bed pretty much took up all the space. We also visited Sydney in the midst of a crazy heat wave and although they had rigged up a window AC unit, it struggled to keep our room cool. I agree with some other reviewers -- the furnishings in our room felt "tired" (our nightstand lamp was the leaning tower of Pisa) and 4 days of their breakfast really got tiresome since NOTHING changed. Finally it took awhile for the owners to charge my VISA. It said when I booked that I would pay in advance (which is what I wanted to do to spread out of costs), but after booking in July, we still had not been billed for anything come December. I ended up having to contact them. Bottom line: if you are going for convenience of location and don't have an issue with a big bill, this is a decent spot. But we would not probably book here again.

We enjoyed the stay, the location is superb. yes there are lots of stairs, I just need to get fitter. Nice breakfast everyday, basic but a good feed and fresh. We stayed in the Parkes room which has a second bed and its own bathroom/toilet. It was a nice quaint room, the building is very old, so its very rustic and you can hear a lot of comings and goings, but I think that adds to the charm of The Rocks area. It was very cheap for the location about $ 350 a night for 2 beds. And as I said the location is superb, its not a high class accommodation but a nice little place that is in one of the best parts of Sydney. Would I recommend? Yes, just be realistic with your expectations. It's pretty clean, if I could make one suggestion, the bedrooms would benefit from a ceiling fan as the air conditioner is way too powerful and noisy to sleep with on at night. But do stay here, book the room that suits if you want your own bathroom. The hosts are nice people and we really enjoyed it.

We recently had an overnight stay at the Rocks and chose Sydney Harbour Bed & Breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect as the whole historic Rocks area is literally at your doorstep. We stayed in a room with a private toilet and shower and the accommodation was comfortable and clean. Linda was extremely helpful and courteous. The breakfast we good and plentiful. We would stay there again

As the property is heritage listed, it is old. However it is kept clean. There's a mini bar in the room, there is also a tv, kettle, heater, portable aircon, iron etc. The portable aircon works but is loud. The room is not very spacious but is ok for one person. The bed is very comfortable. The shared toilet and shower are clean too (you share with one other room on the same floor). Breakfast is good. No lifts in the property so you do have to take the stairs (fairly narrow though). I noticed that the website suggests that if you take trains, get off at Circular Quay station. I'd suggest that guests get off at Wynyard strain (exit 3). Similar distance but way less stairs to climb and flatter road. After hours check in is straight forward. If you want to stay in The Rocks area and don't want to pay top prices, I'd recommend this b&b.

We booked a queen room with private bathroom. There is no information on the website or photo indicates that the private bathroom is not in the room. How comes a private bathroom locates outside the room(there are other rooms on that floor, and the bathroom is even closer to another room)? Another city view room actually doesn't have any view at all. The house is very old and definitely needs some renovation. Not very clean as you can see cockroaches around. No lift, the stairs are very steep and narrow, not convenient for seniors and kids. Breakfast is limited. The host lady was very rude and aggressive. We know with the price in Sydney CBD you cannot expect luxury fancy hotel experience, but this is still a pure nightmare. Would not recommend at all.
