Mercure Farnham Bush Hotel

We booked the hotel last minute and had high expectations for service and the whole experience as I have visited the hotel for afternoon tea previously. The room was clean and fine - no issues but the staff were judgemental, rude, condescending and quite frankly didn’t make our stay welcoming. For the cost of the room I would recommend looking to the bishops table instead who offer great service and the same facilities if not more!

This was a one night stop. Comfortable, well appointed. and quiet Good check in and breakfast. Bath took ages to run and we had some trouble with the electronic lock, but maybe that was unfamiliarity.

Tired, slow service, trays of food left for hours in corridors, noisy, - not a good experience, if it was not for the central Farnham location it would have few redeeming features. The fact that a private function had taken up all of the car parking spaces was not a good start.

Quite nice hotel, decent service, tidy rooms and good catering. Design- proper yet nothing to write home about. Does the job. Very hotel is located in historical building, has some antique features in communal space and dining hall. Comfortable beds, wide windows, view though not too scenic, hence hotel is located in town. All and all quality time spent there.

Pros: Bed was comfy, lots of plug sockets, wifi works fast running bath convenient location- close to station, high st and supermarket Good sized room Cons: Service on check in, no information on wifi, breakfast times, took a 'pre authorisation of £250 on a room, no mention of this at booking Room, Not very clean esp bathroom Tired decor, holes in curtain, nowhere to hang anything except on the back of the door in bathroom. Odd if this hotel is used for weddings, no full length mirror Toilet handle broken and held together with black duct tape No fridge Sound carries from the hallway-woken up by people having normal noise conversation in hallway

When I asked for a room on the first floor (since there are no elevators) I was put in room 321, The farthest room away from the front desk… Two staircases and eight hallways later I made it to my room. I asked for assistance with my bags and was told none was available (I had to leave bags unattended while doing multiple climbs up the stairs). The mail front reception told me the hotel was full… The next morning, I learned the two men I was traveling with were given a first floor and the hotel was only at 1/4 capacity... As a woman… I thought I was treated as a "less than" and discriminated against. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone

We stayed here for one night prior to a wedding, and we found it to be a charming hotel. It has a very classic and cozy feel, and it's within a short walking distance of lots of shopping, restaurants and bars. The staff was perfectly pleasant, and our room was comfortable, although everything is a bit dated. But frankly, that only added to the charm as far as we were concerned. I don't know that we'll have occasion to be in Farnham again, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I find myself returning. In fact, I'd look forward to it.

The Bush is a historic coaching inn right in the centre of Farnham with shops, restaurants, the town museum, and the Maltings Arts Centre within easy walking distance. At the back is a large garden and good car parking which can be accessed via the one way system through an entrance which could be better marked and is not in the Borough. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar could have had a better selection of beers although the bar snacks were satisfactory and reasonably priced. Parts of the hotel could benefit from some redecoration which would improve it from being good to excellent (and possibly more expensive).

The reception check in was very good. You get to the bedroom at on first glance it looks as if the Manager has gone out that morning to an auction and bought a cheap job lot of furniture. The bar is cosy but service minimal. To me a hotel with a good resturant see's it quest "queuing" for diner here when it came to diner everybody left. The menu was poor in choice. I did speak with the manager and I have a feeling this hotel will change for the better !

Stayed for a night part of a coach tour the room was comfortable good size bed in the newer block. Did have a problem with the flush somebody has looked at it before as tiles were damaged. Food was quite good and staff were polite and friendly.
