we wanted to stay overnight in Farnham so booked this hotel last minute. we were pleasantly surprise. very good location, our room on the ground floor was very quiet and we had a very good breakfast. the man had the reception when we checked in was very nice and helpful. we would stay there again.
We stayed here after a wedding - staff were friendly and check in was very easy. There is also on site parking. However, our room which was on the ground floor was in desperate need of updating and a good clean.
Driving into the hotel and walking up to the hotel, things looked very promising! The scenery and the gardens are very nice and even the hotel decor is beautiful as an old English Manor house, however, old it is indeed! Our room was located on the first floor which we had to climb up 1 flight of stairs to get to. Luckily it wasn't on a higher floor as there wasn't a lift. Parking onsite is limited and on the first night they were fully booked, we ended up parking in Sainsburys across the road. The double room was pretty standard and not too large or too small, it was humble. At first we didn't mind the creaky floorboards, just accepted it as part of the charm, but how we were so wrong and spent 2 sleepless nights here because of it! I've never heard so many different noises a building can make. The floorboards were creaking all night, as other guests moved around or walked past our room, we could hear everything! It's not cheap to stay here either, but it is convenient and clean.
Excellent hotel set just of the high street. In Farnham. We stayed in 3 rooms over the weekend and would defo stay again. This hotel might not have a pool and gym like some of the newer hotels, but the cosy stay and friendly staff make up for this. We were lucky enough to have privilege rooms that opened onto the garden. We'll worth a stay, staff have to be the best I have come across, even the GM asked how are stay was going, everyone says morning etc etc with a smile and nothing is a problem. We'll done and thank you
Stayed just one night last week. Easy to find, no problems parking although if there was a conference on that wouldn’t have been the case. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient. All good so far... On reaching our room I noticed we overlooked the junk storage area - old mattresses, chairs, bags of rubbish etc. The room itself was dated and rather tired, however the bedding, towels etc were spotless. Breakfast the next morning was perfectly good and set us up for the day. Overall it served our needs for a work trip, and while the room was poor there wasn’t anything particularly unpleasant. That said if this room is typical I wouldn’t stay here on holiday.
Overall we do like this hotel. The location is great and the public areas and service has real olde world charm. Breakfast is very good. No Bookers sausages here. Bought in advance for £10 and never had to Eat again all day. Even though finishes at 10.30 they don't just week all the supplies away. The staff had courses to ask if the gusts were finished with the buffet. The rooms is where the money needs spending. We have been coming here for around four years and rooms are degrading rapidly. Taps stuck, plastic shower head gives a very odd water pattern. As falling apart. Toilet stained and generally tired. All said we will be back for Beerex 2019
We arrived at the hotel and no free hotel parking (even though when buying it it said free parking) so we had to pay £18 to park down the road with luggage. After walking to the hotel we were told that parking was full because of a conference but surely hotel guest have more right as we were there over night. We checked In and got taken to our room, the room smelt of sewage so we went back to reception and got moved. Kindly the receptionist gave us two complimentary drinks. The second room looked much better with a garden view. We went off to our wedding for the day and arrived back late to the hotel. Unfortunately my husband bed was broken and sloped on one side, by this point we were too tired to change room but wished we had just gone home to our own bed. The next morning we went to check out but it was very busy and we were waiting for the receptionist to ask how our stay was but she didn’t. We left feeling very disappointed and won’t be recommending or stay here again. Overall a very costly experience with parking extra aswell.
This was our second stay at this hotel. We picked it both times because of the location and the beautiful Farnham. We really like the feel of this hotel and it's quirks. The only recommendation I would make is to upgrade the mattresses. Other than that we were happy and will stay again.
Stayed here overnight whilst attending a family wedding locally. Friendly staff assisted us in free car parking facility prior to us disappearing for the afternoon and evening. We returned by cab late evening and again friendly staff checked us in to room. Very generic double room - except, bedside table drawer front hanging off, broken window catches, no hair dryer, only one mug for tea/coffee. Again very friendly lady on reception did her best and produced a hair dryer - which worked for about 1 minute before overheating! Opened curtains in ground floor bedroom to find people(!) (staff) sitting at outside table smoking - and admiring our nightwear! So overall, appalling Housekeeping/ maintenance but lovely friendly reception staff . Don’t bother with this one.
Quick one night stay. Hotel a bit dated and in need of a revamp. Bathrooms need tending too with loose tiles and mould. Floors so creaky you can hear when anyone walks by or anyone on floor above you. Benefit of good location right in the town centre with nice pubs and cafes for breakfast and lunch. Also free parking which is good considering it is in the middle of town.
