I and my family stayed in this hotel in february for just one night, not enough to say my opinion. But the staff was kind and the room was simple and very clear. Wonderful swimming pool and idromassage. Hotel in the city
Last time I reviewed this hotel, 5 years ago, I was a bit scathing about it. We have just been back, twice, after a gap of 5 years. This is a lovely hotel but has changed in many ways. Like many hotels in this part of the world the clientele is much more Asian and the food has largely changed because of this though they still have an a la carte menu if you don't fancy the Asian buffet. Many of these residents speak very good English and we had some interesting chats with some. The hotel is very clean, the rooms lovely and the staff are excellent. Those staff members we would most like to mention are Sandra Chan and Geeta in the Dining room and the older guy on the Tour desk in the mornings - these three were so good and helpful. For us the Hotel is very well located, near to the Singapore river with all its eateries and attractions, and close enough to the heart of Singapore so that taxis don't cost the earth. The taxis there are very cheap anyway.
Arrived for a 3 night stay later in the evening , all looked ver quiet . Very helpful reception staff very nice welcome also very quick check in . On arriving at our room my other half was presented with a beautiful birthday cake ( rather nice ) . Our room was very clean and very spacious buffet breakfast was included and a very good choice of hot & cold food was busy with various tour groups but that wasn't a problem . TBH we were that busy seeing all the sights we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel great area near Robertson Quay ( for chilli crab ) and Clarke quay both within easy walking distance , taxi fares were reasonable to go further . Would recommend this hotel for stopover .
Stayed for 2 nights in Jan 2018 to visit Singapore. Hotel located 20-30 mins walk along the river from the main centre so a quieter location. Pleasant stroll to the main sites in a very clean and tidy city with plenty of interest to see. Hotel undergoing some upgrades so breakfast was in a temporary dining area. Range of choices was good although surroundings no doubt will be better soon. Helpfull staff who provided changing and shower facilities for us before we left early evening. A welcome gesture.
When I booked into this hotel there was confusion over my book out time and whether breakfast was included in my stay. My reservation letter clearly stated that I have paid for a 6pm check out and that breakfast was included. Don't know why the confusion. WAs only cleared up the next day. Staff appeared helpful and polite when clearing up my booking. Room comfortable. Breakfast on the first morning was pleasant but chaos reigned on the second day as a large group of Chinese tourist made the task of hotel difficult as they would not vacate the breakfast area when done and staff had to ask them several times to move on in order for other guests to be seated. Felt sorry for staff as they had difficulty in coping with flood of guest. The selection of food was good. hotel has a large pool and Jacuzzi. Right outside the hotel was a Hop on Hop off stop. This is very convient as I made use of this service. Also a convience store next door are the gas station. would definitely use this hotel again.
I had three days here as part of a Singapore Airlines stopover. The Miramar is not the newest of hotels, but the room was big and comfortable with everything I needed. Having the Hop On, Hop Off bus stop right outside made sightseeing so easy. Again the pool is not the newest but it was a great way to cool down in the afternoons.
We stayed at the end of January whilst the restaurant was being refurbished so we ate breakfast in what was a conference room . The service was slow and staff were casual in their approach which I appreciate was probably difficult but standards still needed to be maintained. Once we found Robertson Quay and it's lovely selection of restaurants we preferred to eat there. The hotel was in a handy position to explore the sights. Our room was spacious and well equipped .
I'm a regular guest at this wonderful hotel, excellent in every manner and reasonable for the price they charge, the staff are too good, they remember me, and I get very good service here. I was on 14th floor this time, excellent views.
We did a two night stopover on the way to New Zealand and one on the way back. A very clean and bright hotel with good sized rooms. Very pleasant staff. Did not use pool or spa so cannot coment on these. Bar staff very pleasant. Singapore stopover guests get 50% discount in restaurant but you need to point this out. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Ask for room overlooking rive.
