Hotel Miramar Singapore4.0 out of 5.0

The Miramar is a good quality and well located hotel. Checking in was straightforward and the room was clean, tidy and had everything you would need for a city stay. There is a swimming pool which was very quiet I think it is because there is so much to do in Singapore other than lie around a pool. The hotel is on a main road within walking distance of Roberston Quay and Clarke Quay. Also right out front (and this is a big bonus) is a stop for the hop on hop off bus route. We used this each day and it was great for getting around. You can buy tickets from the hotel concierge in cash. They will also get you a taxi if you wish. Did not have breakfast here so cant comment this time round but have stayed here before and it looked as popular as ever seeing how busy it was. To conclude, I would be happy to stay at the Miramar again. It has all you need for a city break.
During a recent visit to Miramar hotel and discovered that it has marvellous food outlets: Peach Garden Restaurant, Ferntree Cafe, Ikoi Japanese Restaurant and Brass Rail Lounge. No wonder its filled with guests, especially during the weekends due to its good food and dining. A great way to keep guests coming back ...
For a 4 star hotel, they have definitely lost their glory. Room amenities still stayed in the early 90s, TV size is was too small for enjoyment, bedding are nicely maintained though. Stayed with them while some renovation works are done on their external, but still accessible and not affecting any of their facilities. For the price, the location is great for tourist since they are located central, but not too much convenience for the public transport takers though. Pool was great just slightly small, a plus would be the Jacuzzi tub next to it..
I have stayed in this hotel for 12 days. Courteous and helpful staffs. Clean bathroom and comfortable room. This hotel just 10 mints by walk to Chinatown and MRT and 2 minutes to historical riverside quay in Singapore.
I had visited the Hotel Miramar in 2010 and came back for a 4 night family stay this year. Good value and for the price reasonably located. Chinatown is a 20 minute walk away. Marina bay area is a taxi ride away and for 3 people a taxi is good value. The buffet breakfast was good and offered western and Asian choices. Nice rooms and helpful staff made our holiday great. We came back one night and went to the bar. I had to tell them how to make Blue Margaritas which they did and very well. Anyway there was this girl singing rock songs and her rendition of "sweet child of mine" by Guns N' Roses was unbelievable.
Our travel agent booked this for us on our return stop over from Europe. The hotel had great sized rooms and bathrooms but overall was a little tired. It is also a good 15 minute walk from Chinatown Metro. This may not sound long but in 30 degree heat and humidity...They had a nice pool which was sparsely used during our stay. Although we had a non-smoking room the corridors reeked of cigarette smoke. Reception staff were helpful. We had one meal in the Chinese Restaurant but that was overpriced so we eat out a Chinatown for half the price.
i usually stay here, and it is a good convenient, hotel, which I like very much, good ambience good service and good staff. I really like it. huge breakfast spread. all very nice. rooms are also very nice and comfortable.
We stayed here for three nights before moving onto Bali. Had a reasonably pleasant stay. Everything you need in a hotel. Could possibly do with updating but more than suited our needs. We were rarely in and more or less used it for sleeping and breakfast before spending the days in Singapore. Location is ok at around a 15-20 minute walk to Clarke Quay or China town. It's far enough but not too far. Taxis aren't too expensive either if you aren't keen on walking far. The only staff we really encountered were at breakfast and reception and all were pleasant and friendly. Would use this hotel again, nothing stands out and generally an average but comfortable stay if you aren't spending a lot of time around the hotel.
Old hotel requiring some TLC. Some of the staff appear non engaged and need some training in customer service. Room just ok , the air con requires a muffler. Location ok but centrally Near marina bay likely better. Buffet breakfast disappointing - tables often not set , windows are filthy to look out, food just wasn't pleasant, many things at room temperature which could be dangerous eg: fruit, yogurt.
Rooms were very basic, but most importantly they were clean and tidy. Hotel itself could do with modernising as we felt that the interior was a bit outdated. Staff were extremely welcoming and they had our room ready even though we arrived over 4 hours before check-in. Breakfast at the hotel is very expensive for average food. The hotel was in a good location and also had a number of bus stops nearby. Take advantage of their free shuttle bus service to Chinatown... we walked as it is in walking distance, but the heat made us so tired for the rest of the day.
