Grand Hyatt Singapore5.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Singapore for 9 nights and had a nice time. The hotel is looking a little tired compared to our stay 5 years ago but I guess this is to be expected. The furniture in the club is looking worn and in some cases could do with being replaced. Our room was nice overlooking the garden. We dined at petes place and mezza 9 and the food was nice but as expected inside the hotel, expensive. After dinner one evening we decided to go and have a drink at Brix which is free for hotel guests. I expected a nice bar and wasn't disappointed until, to my surprise, the bar began to fill up one by one with working girls. At first it wasn't noticeable but it quickly became apparent what was going on. These women would come in, go into the bathroom almost as if to check in then they would come out, hang their bag under the bar then work the room. We got there when it was empty and left about 2hrs later so there was no doubt as to what was going on. My husband was also approached when I left the table to use the bathroom and go to the bar. I asked the hotel bar staff why they were letting this happen and they pled ignorance. Whilst I wasnt offended at what was going on, this definitely isn't what I would expect from a Hyatt run property. But a quick check on trip advisor for Brix revealed this is a known regular occurrence. But I must say if I'd wanted to go to a brothel I would have gone to orchard towers.
I stayed on the 15th floor. The breakfast buffet was included with my room and it was very good. There is something for everyone. The customer service was wonderful. There was a selection of complimentary goods. I ordered some, not realizing they were already in my room! There were many bottles of complimentary water in my room when I arrived. The staff was very pleasant, even when I called multiple times. Thank you for everything!
Booked under my Hyatt gold passport. As I always feel comfortable with Hyatt's property and services, so I trusted my booking but still I was not so convinced before I reached the property. The elegant entrance and warm welcoming was so pleasant that took my heart away. Fallen in love at first sight. It's a brilliant and awesome property, nevertheless I must appreciate their cleanliness and hygiene. Lighting, decoration, paintings, sculptures, settings etc are just fantastic and artistic. All the restaurants are beautifully designed and spacious. But found seats are not so comfortable as expected. Awesome foods and beverages, especially oriental cuisines. Intensionally I avoided my free boufet breakfast and ordered the same for in room dining experience. I spent extra money but I own. Spectacular and magnificent in room service. Please don't miss Grand Hyatt Singapore @10 Scott Road. I have fallen in love with Hyatt Singapore likewise Hyatt Regency Chennai, India.
My sister and I took a trip through Asia, spending three nights in Singapore at the Grand Hyatt. There are many positive aspects of the hotel, such as the pool, barbeque, hotel room (two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, and living room), and views. A negative aspect of the hotel is the hooker bar and hookers that hang out inside and outside the hotel. While Singapore may be really strict in enforcing certain laws, they look they other way when it comes to prostitution. Although I had a very good time at the hotel and visiting sites (must see the light show at the Gardens by the Marina), I would not stay at this hotel if you are traveling with children.
Food is great; room is elegant; location is wonderfully situated in the heart of the city;and near shopping malls and other eating and entertaining places. The hotel has Courteous staff who know their work. Above all in clean city.
Everything was great with this hotel. As hotel guest you don't need to line up to get into the popular Brix nightclub. You have to check it out! Club lounge access is worth it so just book it and spend a little extra. Grand Hyatt is still reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Singapore. Location-wise I prefer the Clarke Quay area.
Poor experience on many fronts. Actually I will have to reconsider my relations with Hyatt after this stay: 1) Front desk assured me that my Hyatt number was on file but I haven't received credit for this stay till today. I was treated with disrespect and lied to my on my face. Terrible. 2) The hotel room on my second stay was not up to standard. The toilet had yellow stains next to the toilet bowl. I have pictures of this on my phone and will provide on request from your higher management. 250 USD a night and such poor service. 3) The sales and marketing lady I talked to on 9th was very disrespectful. I don't remember her name but think it was Christine or Chay. 3) The cab guy tricks people outside the hotel. The concierge service signs up 10 taxis waiting outside the hotel to take extra 8 dollars booking fee to coerce people into paying more to the cab company. They say that because it is hard to get normal cabs so they are lining up these cabs. This is not true. If you set up this service and make customers desperate then all cabs will join the booking line and not normal line to serve people. This tactics is strategically used at office time in the morning from 7:30- 9 am to take advantage of desperate guests on business travel. I actually was desperate to go to the airport on the morning of my departure day (Friday the 16th June). So, I paid extra 8 dollars to get to the airport on time. This is pure blackmail and low standards for a five star organization. 5) The area is sleazy with a thriving escort service with escorts waiting in the lounge to service business clients. I am sure your sales and marketing team is well aware of this yet they lie and advertise this location as a clean area which holds highest standards of ethics. Please avoid if you are travelling with family. Go to other hotels in the vicinity. There are many.
Stayed in an Grand Deluxe Room with Club Lounge access. Staff were very efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Service is excellent. Room was great and had a really good size TV in both the Lounge Room and the Bedroom. The only thing missing from the room was a coffee machine which is pretty much standard through most 4 and 5 star hotels nowadays.Club Lounge was excellent and served a great Breakfast and again great service. Highly recommend.
Had breakfast in their restaurant on the 13th May. Upon eating my plate of fried rice, I noticed a very very long strand of hair which is infused to the contents of the rice and it's condiments. Went up to the duty manager, and she apologized profusely and promise to highlight to the chef and remove the wok of fried rice to be replaced. But 30 mins later, upon my survey of next meal, I saw the wok of fried rice still in it's place. Again I talked to the manager and she disappeared. Be wary of it's restaurant people! Otherwise room and pool awesome!
Good location, very helpful and friendly, service oriented staff. Large conference hotel so restaurants sometimes crowded. Good selection of restaurants and vegetarian fare easy to find right in the hotel. Business Center services minimal but adequate. Bed very comfortable, room was spacious and all amenities were nice. Robes in room. "Non-smoking" room was clearly a smoking room. A call to the front desk acknowledged this, but said the room was cleaned. Easy walk to restaurants and excellent shopping centers. Short walk or taxi ride to many attractions.
