We checked into Ankor Palace Resort & Spa for about 4 nights and this places is absolutely beautiful. We got a very warm well, Superbly quick check-in, comfortable rooms with a balcony that had the view of the pool. Their Pool bar is amazing, with a variety of drinks (pink Lady being our favourite) and delicious food. their breakfast is an amazing spread of Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Continental food. All in all its worth it because it is away from the noise of the main road and very close to the airport.
I have just returned from my second visit to this beautiful hotel with superb staff that create a family atmosphere I went with my brother This time. After last year I promised I would return and I am so grateful I did. We where looked after and wanted for nothing from the moment we arrived to the time I left to travel home. I must mention some names I would be here all night if I mentioned everyone Sina Hoeu, Saren Um, Proueng Chneang and Sok Sovanny,Sun Noun also Richard Vicheth all the staff who worked so hard in the restaurants and chefs and many more this hotel is my favourite in all my holidays but a special Thank you is for the the Manager Weng Aow who has this hotel and all his staff working so well to create such a big family atmosphere and such a lovely hotel. And inviting me and my brother to your Staff party was special and to meet and have a drink with the proprietor who was a very nice man with a very nice family. Thank you. Food excellent beer excellent we drank plenty of alcohol rooms very very clean and spacious. No 1 Tuk Tuk Driver was brilliant took us all over nothing a problem stay and wait for you if you wanted him too. I said it last year and I will say it again I will be back to stay here again. To see all these lovely people who are very hard working people thank you all again my 6 star service for a six star hotel.
I had a wonderful time at this hotel. Everything went smoothly. The hotel manager sent me an email ahead of time to arrange airport pick up. When I got out of the airport, a driver had already been waiting for me and holding up a sign with my name on it. They welcomed me to the hotel with an ice cold drink. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant. I had a long flight and I arrived at the hotel in the morning. I was able to check in my room. Since I was tired, I had a body massage in the hotel spa and that was very relaxing. Plus they gave me additional minutes and discounts. The hotel room was very pretty and clean. It provided amenities like bath robes, slippers, tooth brushes, combs, shavers, etc. There was a safe and a fridge in the room. Breakfast was included in my hotel package and there was a plate of fruit in my room. Breakfast was a tasty combo of Eastern and Western food buffet. I sometimes ate lunch and dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious. The afternoon tea package was particularly delightful. The concierge took care of all my touring needs: they called and booked tours, booked shows, booked drivers etc. The pool was heaven after a long day walking through the temples. The temperature of the water was just right. The whole hotel was very pretty. The exercise room was not big but adequate. The machines were dated but they had different size dumb bells for a good workout. Everyday someone would clean my room and every afternoon, someone would come again and provided a turn down service. In addition of fixing my bed, this person would take away any used towels and gave me fresh towels. In the evenings they provided shuttle service to downtown Pub Street. And when I came back at night, there were singers in the lobby performed many wonderful American classics while I had a cold drink. At the end of my stay in Siem Reap, they drove me to the airport. The service of this hotel was excellent. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Notes: 1) Although it was a not long ride to downtown, this hotel was not close to downtown. This hotel is pretty quiet. 2) I might be stating the obvious. The price of food and drink and spa and private tour services of the hotel are more than what you pay in downtown. 3) The WiFI in the hotel was weak. I hope they improve on that. It would be a big help. If you need to work on your airplane check in, there is a business center in the hotel that has two computers.
A very welcome break for three nights after a very busy tour around Vietnam and Cambodia. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The SPA is excellent and the treatments very cheap. The rooms are very spacious light and airy.
The grounds are much more beautiful than the photos show, especially the pool. My children absolutely loved playing in this large pool after long days at the temples. I also loved that they had a completely separate and gorgeous adult pool so you didn't need to worry you were disturbing anyone when your kids were loud and wild. Poolside service and food was delicious as well. I was disappointed that the grout was stained blue and stained all of my kids swimsuits blue permanently. Something for management to address. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. Breakfast was large and good with western and asian foods. FYI you pay for your room and food with credit card but temple tours and excursions you pay in cash. They arranged private cars for us for several half days and it was lovely, around $28 USD if you stay local and up to $50 if you want them to take you to farther away temples. With kids having air conditioning in a car was nice. Do not eat at the restaurant in the main lobby. There is a reason it is always dead empty. We made this mistake after being too tired to head back into town after a long day out. Way over priced and super gross. I loved being out away from the noise and chaos of the city but it does make getting food a little trickier, especially with kids, just plan ahead. Lots of good food in the city. Overall I would stay here again. Just be aware the tuk tuk drivers know you are staying a 5 star hotel and will try and charge you more. They wait outside the lobby for riders. We overpaid the first day until we realized you should never pay more than $3 for a ride.
Superb concierge, Mr. Kimsan, who is personally welcoming and professionally attentive to ensuring guests enjoy their stay at the hotel and in the city; polite and friendly staff throughout the hotel, including everyone from assistant managers to luggage carriers to on- call tuk tuk drivers; beautiful property with landscaped gardens; quiet, comfortable rooms; delicious breakfast; appealing collection of art work throughout the hotel; free shuttle to and from airport. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.
If full grade is 5 points, I would like to give my grading regarding the following aspects: Satisfaction with room: 5 Location of convenient: 4 Cleaning: 4 Service: 5 Swimming pool: 5 Environment of beauty: 5 Facilities: 4 Breakfast: 4 This resort is an ideal option for guests who want to visit Angkor Wat to stay. Due to the convenient location of this resort, I can take just few minutes to go to Angkor National Museum, Angkor Wat and even the international airport. Here is a nice place to escape the scorching hot weather in Angkor summer, too. There is a vast area of this resort that almost is a hotspot for guest to enjoy the vacation in. There are vibrant trees and plants, pleasant trails and rivers in the garden of this resort, guests can haphazardly see the beautiful floral design when walking around there. Most of rooms were placed a balcony to let guests enjoy the garden view that one can eating the complimentary fruit and relaxing there. The bed in the room is comfortable, by decorated with full wooden Cambodian style bedstead, it’s more fancy and beyond my expectations. Unfortunately, the luminance of the bathroom is not enough, thus there is a little dark and not as comfortable as the bedroom. It’s worthy to praise that the perfect service of this resort. All staffs are gentle and amiable that let the guests feel very welcome here. By the way, the greeting music performed by the traditional Cambodian instrument is one of the many features of this resort. This greeting music could truly assist the guests to release the fatigue of traveling when stepping in the lobby.
We arrived as part of a tour group to a fabulous welcome - staff lined up to greet us and give us a welcome! Beautiful hotel - a bit out of town (tuctuc ride 3-4 $) - with lovely grounds with stream, swimming pool, spa. The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and well provided - although did not include shaving kit. Very quiet and comfortable. The only weakness is the restaurant - we had to abandon a lunch when only one of two courses arrived after 45 minutes (and the food was poor) - it wasn't even busy! Breakfast buffet was ok, but a little chaotic - staff seemed overwhelmed. The hotel does host large groups and corporate events so it can be busy - and Chinese guests make their presence felt (ofte loud and inconsiderate)! But when we left the staff all lined up and waved us off - quite touching. Wonderful people!
We have stayed here twice. First time 3 years ago and now. It has great location: not far from airport and not far from Pub street with restaurants and pubs. You drive a big road to get to Pub street what is good as it doesn't have much of traffic. We once drove from some other place through the center and small streets and we were stuck in traffic for quite a bit, before that we have never thought it happens in Siem Reap :) It has 2 big nice swimming pools and spacious rooms with balconies. The first time we stayed here it was great and no isuues. The second time there were 2 issues I want to mention and hope a hotel will improve on it: - We have paid extra for the room with the pool view, but were placed on the 1st floor facing the garden and spa. So I would correct that rooms have a pool view, I would rather call it Pool side room, though convenient to get to the pool. But the main issue were pipes!! If you are a light sleeper you will definitely want to avoid the first floor. We couldn't sleep til around 1am until everyone finished going to bathroom and showered, and it was not like on and off - it was a constant noise of running water that is so loud like it runs in the room you are in. Hotel could improve and at least to put normal doors to the bathrooms that would isolate that noise(currently they have sliding doors/blinds). But personal was professional and changed the room. - Pool service. Even though the guys in the pool bar try hard but there is something in the system that doesn't work. I think it is not enough people and kitchen is slow. It was one or maximum 2 people on both pools. They were bartenders, and waiters and also needed to go and pickup food from kitchen. Both days we were ordering beer and lunch food, both days we waited loong time to get both drinks and food and food arrived cold (guys in the bar were running around and serve, so can't blame them for that). Also both days there were no draft beer, only in bottles and not that cold. Otherwise our stay was great and they were helpful to arrange transportation and with tour to a floating village. So all-in-all I do recommend this hotel.
We stayed here with our three small children, and had a very good experience. The staff were always pleasant and helpful, and assisted with booking tours when I couldn’t manage it myself. The resort atmosphere is very calm, no loud music or crazy parties while we were there. My husband and I did some spa treatments and found them to be good, especially the foot massages. The large pool is the main feature, a great bargaining tool with the kids who happily sweated the mornings at the temples with the promise of the pool as their afternoon treat. We had fun at the putting green and driving range, but never made the tennis court or the lap pool. The play park was a nice addition, although nothing could really compete with the huge pool.
