This is a well located, comfortable hotel. The staff are excellent, the rooms are large with all facilities, including cooking. Plenty of parking and handy to all manner of shops. We have stayed here before. Since our last stay there has been some redecoration, but the one downside of this facility remains. That is the noise of the A/C. We left it off at night as the noise is akin to a jet engine running up. Fortunately, the weather was mild so it wasn't a problem. In adverse weather, sleep would be very difficuly.
I stayed for a little over 2 weeks and the room was spacious and clean. My room had a dishwasher too. Quiet area. Had all the cutlery and plates and cooking utensils needed. Rice cooker was also provided. The breakfast at this hotel is my favorite in all of the USA. Because Japanese rice and miso soup was provided, along with furikake and of course the normal American breakfast. Whenever I travel for business, I try to get them to book the Residence inn for me. The computer stations were a nice addition too. You can print documents if needed. This home away from home is better than home in the sense that the cleaning service is amazing.
I stayed at the Residence Inn located at Troy, OH in early October 2016 for an extended period of time. For 7 years now I have traveled the country (35 states, I think) for business reasons (sales). I have never reviewed a hotel online until now. Because of the genuine warmth and professionalism the entire staff has shown me during my stay (all departments) I am compelled to express my truthful opinion, as it may be of service to others looking for a similar experience. The rooms were very clean and many of the features and benefits are newly renovated, if not brand new. The staff were the most pleasant and efficient - in every way that mattered to me - beyond any that I have previously seen. When I left I felt like I was leaving family rather than departing just another empty hotel room. Thank you again for the great experience! Excellent hospitality and service is what I found there.
Never choose again. No vegitable except a little spinach, all are mass produced stuff no handmade foods. Bad for body and frustrated during one week stay. No housekeeping twice in a week, just forgot by staff.
First time in this type of accommodation as have never before had the need. Was in town for a 6 day training. Chose because of the included breakfast and kitchenette. All the staff was very kind and welcoming and always said hello and have a great day like they really meant it! It was updated, clean and modern. The breakfast was well laid out and had a lot of options including fresh fruit like pineapple, strawberries and melon-very much appreciated! Also, there were several Asian guests and the breakfast included rice, additions for the rice and chopsticks which was a nice touch. They had free food and drinks on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings which was also appreciated! Would definitely choose again if in the area!
We stayed at this hotel almost a week as we were home for our mother's funeral and needed a spacious, quiet place to stay that also accommodated a pet. We stayed in the 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite and found it very clean and comfortable. The hotel gives a sense of warmth and welcome when you walk into the lobby. The check in experience was efficient and painless. After a 12 hour drive that was much appreciated. The staff at this hotel are absolutely wonderful and I cannot say enough nice things about them. The ladies who oversee the breakfast buffet in the morning are so kind and are like a ray of sunshine with smiling faces and a willingness to accommodate requests. The breakfast buffet is beautiful and kept spotless; there is quite an attention to detail which I appreciate. The food was quite good and I think the choices were great and the coffee was also hot and strong. There is a fire pit and nice patio area which includes a gazebo and I found it to be relaxing and peaceful in the morning while drinking coffee watching the sun rise. The room attendant( I apologize I did not get your name) was very sensitive to the needs of my dog. I left a note stating my dog was a senior citizen (13) and was nervous. She left me a note, telling me she did not vacuum because she did not want to disturb my dog, but if we needed it vacuumed to call the front desk when we returned to our room. She later came by with some dog biscuits. The star of this hotel is Michael. I have never come across such a human being in a hotel setting before. I saw him in the morning at 7 while I ate breakfast, during the day as i was coming and going, then in the evening when i was taking the elevator to the room. I asked him if he ever went home. His reply with a big smile on his face? "I am here to serve you, I am so glad you are here staying with us." I felt like a queen! My family and I saw him many times throughout the week and he always had a smile on his face and inquired if everything was okay and if we needed anything. On our last night before we left back to Texas, As we were loading our car, there again was Michael smile on his face in the lobby area. He said he had heard from my sister we were returning to Texas, hated to see us go and wished we would visit again. Wow! He made us feel like family and put smile on our face during our very difficult time. I was so overcome with emotion with his kindness that I told him what an impact he had on me and my family during that week. I told him the reason we were home, because we had lost our mother. The next thing I knew there was a knock at our hotel door and he had purchased a gift of beverages for us. After hugs all around and a bounty of thanks, we said farewell. When my sister and I return home next summer, we will be staying at this hotel again because Michael invited us to return. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful experience during this very difficult time.
If I was grading on the hotel only it would be a 5 star. The hotel was exceptionally clean. It was quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the two bedroom suite is very spacious and nice if you have several family members traveling together because it allows you to still be together yet still have your own space. The entrance into the parking lot could yes some work. My review couldn't give five star because of the poor customer service and basically of one employee. The check in experience was nice and was quick. I had called a month in advance to make a reservation. I knew that I could get a discount based on my connection to an organization I called to ask what type of discount and it seems only one person there can tell you this. Rhonda answer was depends and gave me a range no true number. I went ahead and made the reservation with what was told was the discount. I then had a friend decide they too would need a room and directed her to call same hotel even though she wouldn't get a discount. She called and told me she had a room and when I inquired of her total the total given was 15 dollars less than my total and mine was supposedly with discount. I then picked up phone and called Marriott reservation and checked on rates and was given exact rate as my friends I called hotel next morning and spoke directly with rhonda and gave her the information from night before. I got no true explanation as to why I was going to be charged more and why no discount only remark was she could give me my friends amount but that was best she could do..I went ahead and kept the reservation strickly based on the need and too late to change but that scene left a sour taste. I can tell you other hotels right at their doors offer excellent discounts for that organization and based on my need for needing a hotel up there each month for at least 2 or 3 nites I would think one might be a little more up on customer service and appreciate that people like me staying there is what helps make her paycheck Again very nice hotel but rhonda might need a customer service course and they might want to find out why she was wanting to charge me a higher rate than everyone else's stated rate and I have the email showing this amount stated Thanks for your time and attention in this matter
We had such a great stay . The front desk hostess (I think her name may have been Jennifer) was so awesome. She was so kind and really worked hard to make sure you have a nice stay . I forgot that the hotel was pet friendly and my mother is allergic....so she put us on a floor that had no animals on it ...then she moved our party that was on another floor (and hearing some barking) on our floor two doors down. She was very good to all the guests . She even called our room to make sure we liked it and was happy with it . She was there when we checked in and when we checked out . She was even assisting anyone in the breakfast area so this gal not only worked what looks like a 24 hour shift ...but was so nice and friendly and just a pleasure to talk to. The breakfast hostesses were amazing as well . Making sure there was something out at all times and that every had an requests they made . Even waking in the halls...the room attendants would greet you . No matter what hotel staff member you passed , they all said good morning to you . Maintenance as well . The hotel was newly renovated and just beautiful and welcoming . The colors and decor in the rooms and halls were very brilliant and comfortable. The lobby at night was awesome as they turn the lights down a little and have candles on all the tables . It was cozy. We could not have had a better stay . The two bedroom suites are so wonderful and spacious and we could not hear any sounds from next door or the hall. The air conditioner was even on the quiet side. Thank you to the entire staff that helped make my Mom's 75th birthday weekend so enjoyable and memorable . We don't have one complaint on this hotel and will stay here again.
The air conditioner was very loud and went on and off most of the night-- big problem. I couldn't sleep and was exhausted the next day! Too bad -- other wise was a nice place. Not worth the frills if you can't sleep! Too close to the freeway to open the windows
This establishment in located in a Cul de sac and gives it its homely feel. The Lobby is really welcoming and seems to have been updated recently. First thing you notice is how CLEAN and SPOTLESS this place is. I was very impressed. Although the general Furniture at this establishment, except for the Lobby, looks dated, it has been very well maintained and kept. Big Kudos the Housekeeping department. There was a small container filled with fresh mints which was very welcoming. The room, although a studio was very spacious and roomy. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
