This Holiday Inn is not bad but not that good either. It is expensive for the area. The beds were comfortable and all is quiet but that was about it. Food & businesses are all on the other side of the interstate.

After taking a red eye we arrived hours before checkin. Knowing it was impossible I explained we were there for the funeral of my husbands mother Dixie jumped into action. Not only did she get us and our daughter in our rooms, she made sure we got breakfast It was a difficult weekend but Dixie and the entire staff made sure we were taken care of. Thank you. The hotel is off the road and down from the highway(85) but is very easy on and off. A renovation is just about complete. The rooms are nice sized ,clean, and comfortable. We heard no road noise. There is the usual Holiday inn breakfast, coffee is available but we found in our 2 day stay, not aways kept hot. Staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast area is kept clean and stocked.

We were just passing through the area and stayed one night. We couldn't say anything bad about this hotel. It was clean and the staff was overwhelmingly nice. I will stay here anytime I'm back in the area!

The area is a hikers paradise. I visited two state parks and two national battlefield parks in two days. In the evenings I returned to this very welcoming hotel and a comfortable room. Even though it's right off the interstate you get no road noise. Close to the city if you want to visit it.the picture is what you see from the front of the hotel.

Excellent place for an overnight stay. Very clean and staff is very friendly. Good hot breakfast and excellent restaurants nearby. Warm cookies are available on check-in. Parking is adequate. Easy access to Interstate 85.

Pool was not open. Room was very clean. Good amount of lights in the room. Comfortable bed. Rooms facing away from highway were very quiet. Stayed in room 214. Check in staff at 4:15 pm 4/30 was very nice as was check out staff at 7:30 am 5/1. Breakfast was just OK. King Mountain is a really quiet town. In retrospect I would've stayed in Charlotte and made the drive to King Mountain in the morning. Just fine.

This was a nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean, good rooms...but the interstate noise was awful! I lost a lot of sleep and when I told the front desk staff the next morning they said they were aware and trying to fix that problem. So hopefully they will do something about it. Ask for a room on the far side from interstate (not sure if that's much better, but worth a try). Breakfast hostess was very helpful and hard working - nice selection of typical hotel breakfast foods.

Holiday Inn Express has definitely become my 'go to' hotel wherever I go if I don't want to stay 'high end'. Reliably consistent everywhere I've stayed with them, and I have not been disappointed. The room was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. I have absolutely no complaints other than road noise from the nearby highway, which there's nothing to do there short of building a giant sound wall.

Holiday Inn's have been around forever. They have always been America's "go to" place to stay when you're out of town and want a reasonably priced and clean place to stay. This is one of those places. We arrived later in the evening due to traffic. The entrance road was a bit dark so we passed it the first time, but we could see the sign and knew to turn around and keep looking. The man at the front desk, James, was so friendly and welcoming that it made me feel right at home and relaxed after a long trip from Central Florida. A clean room that was well lit and nice was there waiting for us. This warm weather girl was chilly and needed an extra blanket. Here comes James carrying a nice warm comforter for me to snuggle up in. In the morning the only thing that bothered me was being close to the freeway and the traffic. But since I chose a room away from the elevators and front desk, this was what I got. Didn't really need or want to sleep in too much anyway. I would recommend this place over all of that just because it's our American oasis in our travels and doesn't disappoint. Lovely.
