I arrived late at night and went straight to bed. The next morning, while rinsing my hair in the shower, I noticed that the tile and grout were in an unacceptable condition. The grout was covered with brown scum and visible mold—indicative of prolonged neglect, not a minor oversight. I tested the area with a washcloth, and the grime wiped away easily, confirming that it had not been cleaned for a significant period.
This discovery immediately raised further concerns: if this level of cleanliness was overlooked in such a visible area, what other aspects of hygiene might also be lacking? Were the sheets properly laundered? Could there be other sanitary issues I couldn't see? It was deeply unsettling and frankly, unacceptable for an establishment of this caliber.
I brought this to management’s attention, hoping for a reasonable resolution. I approached the conversation respectfully, recognizing that mistakes happen and providing an opportunity for the hotel to make it right. Unfortunately, their response did not reflect that same courtesy. Instead of offering a full refund, they proposed a modest discount and loyalty points toward a future stay.
While I have stayed at this property before, this experience failed to meet the expectations set by previous visits. A sincere acknowledgment of the issue and a full refund would have demonstrated accountability and customer care. Instead, the response I received conveyed a focus on policy over guest satisfaction.
