Don't stay here. The property is worn and dirty. I felt as if I was staying in a Motel 6, not a Marriott property. The furniture looked as if it was from the '80s and there was so much dust on the lamp and dresser I was afraid to touch anything. The bathroom had hair on the floor and was also old and dated.
This was our first experience staying at a Fairfield Inn and most probably our last. The hotel is old and the rooms are in need in of an update with a new and fresh look. Our room was not vacuumed before we arrived, as there were pretzels on the floor and hairs and dirt in the corners, The bathtub drain was stuffed and water never went down. The towels were paper thin, the mattress sagged. There were not enough outlets for our various electronic devices. However, the front desk and breakfast staff were courteous and attentive. We couldn't wait to check out!! I hope Marriott Corp, invests in this hotel and does make the necessary changes.
This is a gem of a hotel. Our room was on the third floor and was clean and comfortable. We were on the third floor which offered a great view the mountains surrounding Scranton and we could see our car in the parking lot. The breakfast was good and the attendant in the breakfast area was sweet and helpful.
We stayed here for just one night while in town for the Scranton Jazz Fest. This hotel was fine for our purposes. Our room was clean and comfortable and it was reasonably quiet despite the fact that it was very full and busy. They have a nice indoor pool which appeared clean (I did not use it) and the personnel from the front desk to everyone else were quite friendly. Linda, who manages the busy breakfast area is very friendly and top-notch! The hotel does not seem to have much in the way of dining close by, but a short drive away will bring you to many dining options. The location of the hotel is very quiet (no highway noise!). I would stay here again.
We stayed here for a basketball tournament. To start off the room we were given had two queens. We had preferred one with a king and pullout but were told it was not available. The room was not kept very well, the hotel was clearly lacking in the maintenance department. The air conditioner did not work at all and the room was so hot we couldn't sleep. The unit rumbled on and off periodically all night. One of the beds sunk down in the middle (the one my husband and I shared), my daughter's back hurt when she woke up. Very soft beds. I went downstairs to complain and they did graciously switch our room. The only one they had available was a king with pull out sofa so we took this one. My daughter was going to sleep on the pull out. The air was great and the bed more comfortable, however the sleeper sofa did not open and my daughter had to sleep on the couch. They were sold out. We did have a roll away and tried that but the two bars cut across your back. It may have been ok for a 50lb kid but not a senior basketball player in high school. Very disappointed with the quality and service of this hotel, and the money we spent for the weekend. Marriott should be ashamed. The one positive I will say, is that there was a very pleasant young lady working at the breakfast in the morning and was very prompt and efficient in making sure everything was full and tables were clean.
We stayed here a few nights while attending an event and this was a great place to stay. Close to many places to eat and you could get into downtown Scranton easily. We arrived late and the front desk attendant was very friendly. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, there were both hot and cold options so everyone could find something they liked. The person working the breakfast area was keeping the whole place clean and the food fresh. If you are looking for a place to stay I would recommend this hotel.
I have to mostly echo recent comments already made. The staff were very friendly and helpful, The rooms were updated nicely. Just a little more attention to detail however could really improve this hotel. When I say attention I mean cleaning. While not dirty, it could stand a good going over, especially in some of the common areas, behind the beads and in all the corners. Would I stay there again - sure. Nice quite location.
Breakfast is the highlight. Linda, the person who takes care of the breakfast room, is exemplary. Room was comfortable. Pillows firm, like we like it. Desk personnel were very welcoming. All in all, a very good experience. We would definitely stay here again.
Front desk staff was very nice. They loaned me an umbrella to run out to my car in the pouring rain. Front entrance was muddy and no effort to clean up. The housekeeper had folded the end of the toilet paper roll into a triangle, as hotels do, but there were only 3 squares of paper left on the roll. Thanks for the laugh.
The staff was very impressive! Everyone there was very helpful. Room was very clean and neat. Nice to have a free breakfast available. Don't have to make another stop as you travel. Bathroom does need some updating, Would stay there again.
