We stayed for one night in early November. We had stayed before at this hotel and normally got a room in the newer part of hotel. However this time we had room 8 in the older part of the hotel. The decor was tired, carpet was stained, the pipes made a loud noise whenever the water was running or someone used the toilet, this also occurred when neighbouring rooms were running water. The magnified mirror light did not work. However the staff were all friendly and very helpful. The food was great, we ate in the bar area as there was a lot of fish dishes in main restaurant and my husband has a fish allergy. We had burgers which were delicious. The ambience was excellent in bar area, very relaxing and chilled. Breakfast was very good with something for most tastes. The range of cooked food was excellent and of a very high quality. In all we will return here but would prefer o stay in the newer part of hotel.
We stayed three nights as part of the Highland Links golf package. We played at Castle Stuart, Nairn and Royal Dornoch. It was only 20 minutes to Castle Stuart, 30 minutes to Nairn and an hour to Dornoch. The hotel was very well laid out and only 20 minute walk to the centre of Inverness. Overall, a good hotel but there were a few niggles. First, the internet in the rooms was very poor. I had to go to the bar to get email and do basic browsing. The staff tried to help but they couldn’t do very much to improve in-room performance. Second, my room had no conventional electrical sockets on the side of the room nearest the bed. So, you cold only plug in devices and chargers on the opposite wall by the desk. Third, the breakfast was a bit of a let-down. The hotel caters for a lot of folks, so everything was laid out ready-to-eat. The cooked food was OK, but it had a boring continental selection, especially the cereals. But, even knowing that, I’d happily stay there again.
Inverness is my home city so I've never stayed at this hotel but for the past couple of years I've visited the spa here for a massage. Today my masseuse was 'Sonata' & I must say it was great. I do a lot of driving in my job & I get very sore neck & shoulders. Today's massage really worked a treat so 'thank you Sonata'. While I'm on here I should add that I've also had meals here on several occasion both lunch & dinner & the food has always been excellent. I will keep coming back!
Our yearly trip back to celebrate the boys (husband and son's) birthday. Love to stay here and see all the regular faces that all make us very welcome. Super comfy beds and the breakfast is the best! See you again soon!
I have stayed here a few times with work. It's located away from the main centre of Inverness. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, gym facilities reasonable. Breakfast is good, with a good choice of food on offer. Staff have always been helpful and courteous.
I stayed at this hotel recently. Whilst it is a lovely hotel and most of the staff are helpful and nice, some require customer care training. Food fine. Room lovely. Would stay again and im wuite picky!
Wonderful weekend celebrating friendship with 7 other ladies. Couldn't have picked a better place to go. Rooms, food, facilities, grounds all excellent and the friendliness of the staff added so much to our enjoyment. Inverness itself impressed hugely with different shops and restaurants. Such a good weekend that we have opened a savings account and are planning the Kingsmills again next year. A heartfelt thank you.
My first visit to The Kingsmills and it won't be my last! An enjoyable stay with a lovely room. All staff very nice and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast very nice with a good selection of fruit, cereal and cooked items. Would certainly recommend.
An old time hotel offering good creature comforts. The hotel is especially popular with older citizen and suspect they will have a comfortable Stay at the Kingsmill. The room was a good size and clean though the furnishing were a little tired. There is free parking here for guests which makes travelling with a car a complete breeze.
my wife and I were looking forward to our break at the kingsmills hotel only to be disappointed when we went to our room I asked for a double bed and got 2 single beds the room was full of dust 2 bottle tops on the floor and the lamp did not work, they did give us another room it was fine but the tv did not work we gave up and went to bed
