Fira is full of steps with no car access; so if you don't want to carry your luggages this hotel is perfect for you. It's right off the main road so cars can stop right in front of it and located at the beginning of the old town where you can take a long stroll. We have the room with caldera view, it is breathtaking especially with the large old style windows. All of the staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms are clean, spacious with high ceilings. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is small, tight space but clean. They serve breakfast all day and you can order them to be brought into your room. A rare perk! The bfast menu is simple and the same ever day but it saves us time.
If you are looking for a super modern and luxury hotel with the infinity pool and the pool view you see online in the pictures in Facebook, this should NOT be your choice. This hotel is all about the location, service and view. We spent two days here and we were lucky to get room 25, which as far as my understanding is the biggest room in the hotel. The personnel was really nice, rooms were clean and we had two balconies. One of the balconies is where the main sign of the hotel is located and is a huge balcony. For us, this hotel was perfect. The hotel is located upon the end of one of the main roads in Fira, which makes it easier for a taxi to drop you in the front of the hotel. We realized the advantage of having this hotel, when we saw a bunch of people walking with their luggage in the streets of Fira since taxis cannot drive to the hotel where they are staying. If you stay in this hotel, you will be close to the main Santorini areas within 5 minutes of walking distance. We don't recommend renting a car, since spots near the hotel are barely available. We were recommended by Maria (one of the receptionist at the front desk) to get an ATV, since it's easier to park anywhere in the island, including the hotel premises. This was the best advise that we could get. With a 350CC ATV that we rented from the company that the hotel recommended us, we were able to travel throughout all the island and park everywhere. Most people get motorcycles or ATV's in Santorini, since finding places to park with a car, are mostly unavailable everywhere in the island. We spent 66 euros for 2 days for the ATV and you need to leave your driver's license (that is their insurance). Breakfast is available in the hotel upon request at any time, but we did not try it, we wanted to go to local restaurants and brunches (Galini Cafe! The best!). Also, the pool is ok and has a view, but is not the infinity pool style you are accustomed to see in other Santorini hotels and online pictures. The reason why I don't give the hotel 5 stars is due to the following: 1- If you leave the windows opened in the room, you will hear all the noise from the streets. As mentioned above, hotel is near to the main are of Santorini where everyone is. 2- This hotel is like a big house. Imagine a big concrete house with 15 rooms in the second floor. Every time someone closes a door, probably the next 10 rooms will hear the doors closing due to the echo, no matter how soft you try to close the door. 3-Bathrooms are small. Especially the batthub is small. When you are taking a shower and you are moving, you could easily either touch the curtain or the taps. If you are a big person, this could be an issue for you. We had a great time!
I was coming back from a Business trip in the Péloponnèse region and ended up spending two days in Santorini. My stay at the Atlantis hotel was absolutely wonderful and I want to correct some of the previous comments based on my experience. I had booked on Hotels.com for less than $200 per night for a Caldera water view including breakfast. I recommend taking a bus from the Airport for 1.80 euros and walk to the hotel (straight from the station) if you have only a small suitcase to carry. The hotel is located right by the Cathedral in an awesome location walking to distance to everything (restaurants, bars, cable car, bus station, souvenir shops etc.). The check-in process was flawless; the lady at the reception was very friendly and my room was ready upon my arrival at 7:30am which made things so much easier. I have a complete unobstructed view of the Caldera in room 14. The room was basic with a large bathroom and could benefit from some updating (i.e replacing shower head and bed mattress) but super clean and with a million dollar view. Breakfast was excellent and served at any time of the day. I recommend the tour of the volcano for 20 euros by the way. Contrary to some of the comments before, my room was super quiet and you could not hear anything so while it's busy outside when the blinds and shutters outside are closed, it's very quiet. I highly recommend this hotel as the price / value is just unbeatable.
Atlantis has the best location in Fira and the views from the hotel are to die for. Warm cosy hotel with terrific breakfast served anytime of the day or night. Shopping and restaurants are right outside the hotel.
This is a great place to stay! It's about a 2 minute walk from the bus station, and restaurants and shops are less than a minute out the doors. Room was clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony was fantastic. There was no where else we wanted to be during sunset than enjoying it from our balcony. Staff were incredibly helpful. They booked our tour (boat ride) for us - we did notice it was the same price as from the tour's office. The woman at the desk even let us know that we can get towels from them before we leave. The night before we left, we were able to request a wake-up call, breakfast at 0500 (breakfast can be served any time), and they booked a cab for us. So helpful. Breakfast was a fried egg, bacon, plenty of toast, fruit, jam, and cake, all brought to the table, with a beautiful view of the caldera. We would love to stay there again.
We stayed here for three nights in Room 8 which was comfortable with wonderful views. Hotel is in the main town of Thira so very convenient for exploring the surrounding area which is scenic, vibrant but not too noisy. There were plenty of places to eat and shops to explore. The reception and bar staff were helpful and friendly as was our breakfast waiter. There is a small pool and pleasant pool area. When requested, a light bulb in our room was quickly replaced. If I want to be picky, the breakfast was basic and only two sachets of coffee were put in our room each day. We enjoyed our stay very much.
very centrally located, minutes to the main town, best thing I liked was I could walk around com eback to teh hotel within minutes rest and go back out again, just sit in your own private balcony and watch the sunset. Very safe location I travelled alone and was able to go out and have dinner late at night. The staff keeps the place clean and confortable. The bathroom was stuffed with toiletries the most I have ever seen in any hote. The breakfast was good and they stocked up the room with coffee and drinks everyday.. The view was the best, anywhere you go on the water and in any location you can see this hotel distinctively as it is so big in that area, perched high up you get the whole 360 degree view.
My boyfriend and I took a trip to Greece for our 5 year anniversary and this hotel did not disappoint! We were given a village view room (#25) but it had a fantastic balcony overlooking the square below as well as the caldera. Every morning we were able to sit outside and listen to the hustle and bustle of the square and it was also the perfect vista for sunset! The staff were exceptionally friendly and the room was large and tidy. Many restaurants and shops are located right nearby making navigating Fira very easy!
We stayed here last week and had 2 rooms. The hotel is nothing special, but the location is great! The views are unbelievable and it's one of the only hotels that you can actually drive to. The breakfast was not wonderful. I know it's included but I would venture out for something a little more appetizing and with more choices. Wi-fi always worked in our rooms, but we weren't in them very often. It's very easy to get around town as you are right in the middle of everything. The hotel was very noisy at night - as you could hear everybody outside, but if you are looking for an amazing location this is where you want to be.
When you pull up to hotel it is very nice. We had sea view and it was amazing. You step outside hotel and you can take the village path as far as you feel like walking with amazing views along the way. There are plenty of shops and restaurants as you walk the path. Breakfast was good and rooms were clean and spacious. The only thing to mention is that the rooms do need to be updated but the VIEW and LOCATION is worth the stay.
