This hotel was absolutely fantastic! Our room was beautiful with a wonderful view, the food was excellent and we were treated like royalty. 100% recommend!!! Thank you to Joseph, Eleni, and Hope for a wonderful stay. We will be back and I cannot wait to bring my family.
A cute boutique hotel! The staff is very nice and helpful! The view is beautiful. The bed and pillow are very comfortable. The breakfast is all homemade and included eggs, fruit, bread, jam, pastries, ham, coffee, juice. The wine bar and restaurant were excellent! Taxi costs about 25 Euros each way to Oia Very small pool area.
In just one word...FANTASTIC!! There are may similar hotel properties on Santorini, but, but what makes this hotel great is the staff. Joseph and Hope provided warm, friendly service, helpful suggestions, assistance with local airport transportation and even set up a private tour guide for the island on one afternoon. We had a suite which overlooked the sea and it was great. The room was clean, decorated in true Santorini style and had all the amenities one needed. The private balcony was a real plus with a great sunset every evening. Breakfast is served everyday and was absolutely delicious and homemade. There is an evening restaurant on site and with weather permitting a terrace bar overlooking the sea each evening. The hotel is in Imerovigli which is a short public cliffside walkway from Firostefani, but this location has serveral restaurants, a small grocery market and an ATM directly adjacent to the property at roadside level. The staff provided assistance with the luggage, but as with most places in Santorini, you will be climbing up and down stairs, so be prepared! WiFi is provided and is reliable. The hotel staff provide luggage assistance to and from the room from the road, however, they will not carry your body up and down the stairs...!! ;). You can stay is similar hotels on the island, but you will not find a more friendly staff. They made you feel like a private owner and not a short term visitor. Thank you Joseph and Hope. We look forward to returning.
The difference here is the staff. Joseph, Eleni, Hope and the rest are all extremely attentive and hardworking. They will do their best to help guests in any way possible. It is clear they take great pride in their jobs and in the hotel. The breakfast is very nice, food is made on premises and they serve homemade dishes with high quality ingredients. The jams are made daily and are delicious. We even brought some home. The apple jam is the best. I recommend dinner at the Wine Bar at the hotel. Again, great food. There are a lot of hotels in that area but if you are looking for service that makes you feel at home, go here.
We recently visited Santorini and out stay in Heliotopos was truly amazing. Joseph had truly been very, very helpful, as well as Eleni who both promptly responded to all my email queries even prior to my arrival- I had so many questions and they replied and even made recommendations and suggestions (fly versus ferry; taxi/bus versus shared transfer, and many more). Even before I arrived, I read trip advisor reviews which were all positive. All those positive great comments were true and confirmed - the hotel staff and Heliotopos met my expectations and even more! Hope and Miguel were both very helpful too. Joseph recommended a list of great things to do which were all so superb such as Caldera Yachting, restaurants , the hotel's roof top view of the sunset. The daily breakfast buffet was truly AMAZING - home-cooked, fresh, well-presented. The suite (We stayed in cave#30) was clean and had fantastic views of the caldera and very near Skaros Rock! Love, love, love Heliotopos and if I get a chance to come back, I will choose this same hotel because of the staff, the view, and the breakfast, and the very nice suite. I highly recommend this hotel in Imerovigli.
Heliotopos is a small cozy hotel located almost in the middle of Imerovigli town that is perfect for the Santorini get away with perfect views of the caldera. Hotel gives you a discounted rate if you book directly with them. Eleni and Joseph must have answered hundreds of our questions as we planned our trip. They helped us book a guided tour with Spyros Thermos who is probably one of the most knowledgeable tour guide on the island both on Greek history and Wine tasting. The breakfast at the hotel is out of the world! It is home cooked with very fresh ingredients. We also had a dinner one night at the hotel and the food tastes like home cooked grandma meal. There is nothing that hotel serves is not something that the hotel staff won’t eat themselves. The rooms are very comfortable with all comfort amenities, extra blankets, oil heater, room heater, small kitchenette with coffee etc. There are pros and cons of staying at Imerovigli. Imerovigli is perfectly located for hike to Skaros rock (highly recommended all the way down to the church), Oia (2 hours), and Fira (25 minutes). There is no crowd of lets say like Fira, where at least a cruise ship arrives every day and Fira is a short 25 minute hike with access to all other tourist attractions. The con is that Imerovigli is located almost at the top of Caldera and so expect more windy conditions than Fira. We loved our stay at Heliotopos and would highly recommend it!
If you are looking to have a breathtaking scenery directly from your balcony - look no further. I had the best view (most likely the best in my life) of the sun sinking down into the Mediterranean sea from my balcony as I entered my room, on my 1st day at Heliotopos Hotel. The time literally stopped, I just sat in the patio chair and took it all in. What an experience. And that was just a “welcome” at Heliotopos Hotel. I had already found out how great the staff are from the email exchanges before my departure, they are really phenomenal in person. It’s just simple. They tirelessly work so the guests have a stress-free, relaxing time in Santorini. Thanks to staff’s recommendation I had great walks to the Rocks, Fira town, and Oia (awe-inspiring views as you go on). The tour they arranged for me was so much more than a tour, it was like visiting every corner of Santorini with an archeologist/sommelier combined. The room was really clean, no fancy frills (if you’re looking for a sleek 5-star hotel for jet-setters, this is unfortunately not for you), I really liked how efficiently the room was kept. In particular I liked their laundry service. I dropped off a bag before noon, it was all back when I came back to hotel in the evening. Let’s talk about food. Some folks said their breakfast lacks a variety, but I don’t agree. That’s something I would say when you only find pastries and coffee/tea/juice. Every morning I felt like I’m at my grandma’s place for a hearty meal that gets you start the day. Fresh orange juice, eggs, Greek pies (different every day - cheese, spinach, zucchini...), veggies and fruits, muffins and pound cakes, etc etc. I was particularly obsessed with their homemade marmalade and apple jams, went so well with coffee!! And the cave where they serve breakfast turns into the “Wine Bar” for dinner - the best food I had on the island! And their wine selection is phenomenal... They have really nice Santorini Assyrtiko white wines - now I’m hooked. I can keep going, but let me wrap it up here - kudos to all Heliotopos Hotel staff, and my big THANK YOU to Eleni!
We recently visited Santorini and stayed at the Heliotopos hotel. The rooms are clean and well maintained ( it's quaint and charming and just perfect for the location. If you are looking for 5 star luxury, this is not the place. But honestly you wont miss it) and the views are spectacular! Helena was phenomenal! She was very welcoming and helped us make all the sightseeing arrangements. The restaurant at the hotel is cozy ( its literally situated in a cave) and has an excellent selection of local wines. The food was delicious too! Overall to have the true " village feel", relax and unwind and take in the spectacular views and sunsets of Santorini this is the place to be.
We were at Santorini for 3 nights, upon looking up hotels with great view of the ocean we decided Heliotopos was a good fit. It was a PERFECT fit - we were assigned a suite with a beautiful balcony to enjoy the amazing sunsets, our Hostess, Eleni, has been one of the kindest most helpful people we've met in Europe over the past 3 years. The Suite was perfectly clean, the breakfast delicious, and Eleni will even give you Airport Management advice (very effective ones) We will definitely come back! Sam
We had an absolutely amazing stay. Every staff member took amazing care of us for our entire stay. From helping us rent a car, serving an amazing Greek buffet breakfast, room service, daily turn down service, directions, shuttle and the list goes on. The service was nothing short of spectacular. If we go back to santorini there would be no question, we would be staying with Heliotopos. Thank you again and again for our perfect stay!!!
