Hospitality was awesome... lobby was under construction was a drawback

very good deal for the money. Free parking, free breakfast (with omelets made at your order). No better hotel deal in the SLO area.

Needed a quick place to stay that would accommodate 6 people. This place had everything we needed. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour were outstanding.

We often choose to stay at this hotel when we travel between southern and northern California which is usually several times a month. There is a lot for us to do and see in the area, especially on Thursday evenings when SLO has its downtown farmers market. The hotel is conveniently located and even though it right next to highway 101, one does not hear the traffic noise when inside the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious and the included breakfast is very good. They also have a complimentary happy hour that is ok, but not great. Overall this is a very good place to stay for us.

There was a FREE beer happy hour. Unheard of... And the people were really nice, decent area, close to downtown, and overall it was a nice play to stay. We'd rec it for the place to go.

We were put in a room next to construction. Noisy while we took a nap. Bathtub did not drain, given another room in the morning half way down the hall to shower. Night clerk never apologized or seemed to care. Hotel was old, stains on carpet. Breakfast and cooks were awesome!

good hotel, friendly staff, rooms could be updated and have natural light coming into the front rooms.

Staff are great. Hotel is worn and shows it. Exercise room limited. Buddies room was a mess upon arrival. Mine clean but definitely aged.

We had a suite and it's spacious. Convenient location with friendly staff. I like the breakfast area. The only shortcoming was too close to Route 101 and it's a bit noisy.

Our time at the Embassy Suites was great! Excellent staff and location. The room was very spacious and contained all the amenities necessary for a home-away-from home experience. Thanks for an enjoyable time.

The room prices vary a lot depending on the time of year but in general you get a good value staying here. I would say it is a solid 3-4 star hotel. They have an excellent breakfast bar and buffet and a decent, not great happy hour included with the price of the room. The lobby atrium area is very light and pleasant. We stay here often on our many trips between Orange County and the Bay Area. Rooms are clean and quiet for us although I'm sure this can vary with location of the room. If you are a Hilton Honors member wi-fi is free. On occasion I've had some trouble with the strength of the wi-fi signal in my room.

The hotel has many of the friendly qualities of Embassy Suites properties, but it seems dated and somewhat stale. The best part of the stay was the bar staff at Happy Hour who seemed genuinely interested in our experience.

Excellent room and food. Pool was small and water was cold, though it was clean.

The room was very clean and the hotel management was spectacular. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning and it was just wonderful!

The hotel has a great happy hour and make-to-order breakfast. The location is very convenient to downtown Sam Luis Obispo, Cal Poly, and visiting the beautiful surrounding areas. However, the rooms need updating and we were unable to get wi-fi to work in our room.

I've spent a lot of time in this part of CA on family vacations and this was my first stay at this hotel. There were a lot of nice extras, like happy hour drinks and snacks. There were a lot of families so also a lot of kids in the pool and lobby. The room was pleasant and clean and the help was friendly. I would recommend this hotel for families or as an excellent base to explore the area.

Decent room, a little pricey. We like embassy suites for the complimentary happy hour and full breakfast, so take full advantage, especially with kids!

Coming from Embassy Suites in Monterey, we stayed at the ES in San Luis Obispo and we were wildly disappointed. We arrived after 4 pm to check in and our room was not ready. Front desk staff was not at all warm and clearly needed training in hospitality and customer service. In our room, there was a leaking pipe from the ceiling above our shower. There was also a loud hum that kept on waking us through the night. We told the supervisor about it in the morning and she did not apologize at all. All in a day's work for these people, clearly. Horrible horrible experience. Never again.

Staff was professional. Excellent breakfast with lots of healthy options. Convenient location and comfortable room

If you're into 1970s retro, you'll love it. Looks like it was built then - inside brick walls and all - and hasn't been touched, painted or cleaned since. Great staff, food offerings and evening cocktail hour. But the facility is way overdue for a makeover.
