Really nice family run facility. They went out of there way to take care of us. Would stay there again for sure as I come in and out of San Jose.
Very nice place. Beautiful gardens, restaurant serves good food, staff very friendly and helpful. Very safe and secure.
I loved the hotel. I felt as if I was staying with family. The owners were so candid and they were super amicable. I loved the room and the privacy we got. They have amazing trees and tasty food.
We stayed there the first and last nights in Costa Rica because it is close to the airport. It is located on a typical crowded dusty street, but there is a long driveway and locked gate that lead to the nicely-maintained hotel grounds. The room was clean and comfortable, staff polite, a free breakfast of juice/fruit/eggs/beans&rice, clean swimming pool, and free parking area. There is airplane noise but it is not prohibitive, and actually the usually-blustery Costa Rican wind makes more noise than the airplanes.
We stayed at Trapp Family Lodge on two nights both on arrival and departure from Costa Rica. Only 2 miles from the airport - it feels like an oasis and is beautiful! The rooms are simple and very clean. The coffee is delicious and breakfast was so nice. While you can hear airplanes being so close to the airport - it's well worth the convenience and homey feeling. And - everyone is so kind! We will definitely be coming back and using this as our launch pad for other trips to Costa Rica!
Love it. Great building staff room. Great way to stay at nice bnb just outside SJO airport. Close. Friendly
We enjoyed the hotel. Facilities were good. Beautiful terraza for breakfast, dinner or chatting. Hotel staff was nice. Check in was subpar. Little to no information was given about the hotel.
It's kinda hard to find because my GPS didn't recognize the actual address and it was night when I arrived so I didn't see the sign very well. Aside from that, there was a beautiful court yard with fruit trees and jungle trees, while a stream/river flowed on the airport side of the pool. I liked the room and the setup of the building I stayed in. The breakfast was different but very good, I suggest trying the beans and rice even if it looks unappealing. Honestly, I don't have any complaints, I will stay there again.
The location is ok, close to the airport and route 27. The rooms need a paint coat, the pool needs new tiles (an half have gone). Breakfast is really poor compared with other place with similar rate, the restaurant close at 8 pm. In my traveler experience the rate is too high for the services we got
We wanted to our first night in Costa Rica to be in a nice local place even though we got in at midnight. Trapp Family Inn is just five minutes from the airport and in a lovely lush little setting.
Location is great, We probably won't be apt to choose them again because the staff wasnot very helpful or friendly.
My mother and I stayed at this wonderful little inn for four days while exploring the Central Highlands of Costa Rica. It was quiet, comfortable, affordable, and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
City Mall is within 2 miles (3 km) of Trapp Family Country Inn while other popular attractions such as Alajuela Cathedral are within 3 miles (5 km). This 3-star inn has 8 guestrooms and offers an outdoor pool, free in-room WiFi, and free self parking.
Free full breakfast is included with your stay and awaits you each morning from 6:30 AM to 9 AM. Enjoy a leisurely bite to eat at El Higueron, the inn's onsite restaurant.
All 8 rooms feature balconies, free local calls, and ceiling fans. TVs come with cable channels, and free WiFi keeps guests connected. In-room massages are available, and other amenities include hair dryers and safes.
Trapp Family Country Inn features an outdoor pool, free WiFi in public areas, and spa services. If you plan to drive, free parking is available. Front-desk staff can assist with luggage storage, securing valuables, and tours or tickets. Additional amenities include coffee/tea in a common area, a terrace, and laundry facilities.
