Sitting just a stones throw away from the popular Mission Beach boardwalk and you can have your toes in the water within minutes. Just a couple blocks away is the opposite direction is the sandy beaches for Mission Bay. From your own private patio space you can decide to go left to the bay or right to the ocean. From the comforts of this newly renovated and well appointed home you will find a very spacious floorplan for your whole group to enjoy.

This is a large two story property and comes with a double car garage. This is a rare find in the beach area and very nice to have so you don't loose time searching for parking! The downstairs living space has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a kitchen and living room that sits just off the large outdoor patio space. Upstairs is a larger 3 bedroom 2 bath living space. Upstairs you will find another roomy and bright kitchen and living room. The bonus room sits upstairs over the garage and is a great space to spend quality time together. With a pool table and tv, this room is sure to be one of your favorite areas of the home. The bonus room also sleeps 5 guests with a twin sleeper sofa, twin trundle bed and twin over twin bunk bed. The entire home features new furnishings and decor! Plenty of space and comfortable seating to lounge as a group or be able to retreat from your group and enjoy quiet time. We had a good time here. We loved how close it was to the beach but we were surprised at the overall state of the property. The rooms and bathrooms and kitchen were all fine. But there were flies everywhere. Not sure if all SD properties are like this, but I definitely was not expecting it. There was also no AC, so they provided box fans that were pretty old, dusty, and gross. One of the fans had a bad cable so it shorted out and create a terrible smell. I wish we were able to check in early and check out late but I understand the cleaning process takes a while here. overall it was good, but if I were to come back to this area then I would look for a different location.

Great location but that’s it.

We take a week every year and come to Mission Beach with our entire family for Thanksgiving. This year we had 14 so this house was about our only option. I’ll rent 2 houses next time. This place was….ok but was in terrible disrepair, drywall had holes, rust on all the windows, not sure why but there was a broken dryer in the garage so there was that. I pretty much didn’t sit on any of the couches the entire week, the “pool table” was a joke, holes in the felt and I’m pretty sure there was only 1 cue that wasn’t broken. The first time I walked across the floor, my feet were black, the front area (outside) was dirty, they have fake grass that had holes and piles of sand, weeds where there should have been flowers, no propane tank under the rusted out BBQ, the outside corner lounge couch was pretty gross. If I hadn’t spent 13k for the week I wouldn’t have cared so much but I had expected a much nicer. We will be back next year and many more to come but have definitely crossed this place off our list. I’d move on if you’re weighing this place vs another.

The property was perfect for me and my friends meeting up for a bachelorette party. Location was less than a block from the beach, the outside hang out area was great. The beds were comfortable and overall the property was clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the floors were dirty and there were ants.

Great Location with plenty of space!

Great rental! We rented this house for a bachelorette party with 17 people, and we were able to sleep very comfortably. The kitchens are very well stocked with all the essential kitchenware. Very easy, quick walk to the beach. The hot tub and fire pit were a big hit in the evening. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone needing a lot of space / beds for their next vacation to Mission Beach. The only downside was that some of the beds were not the most comfortably (specifically the beds in the game room/ pool table room). Also, it would be nice to have more towels, or provide a few Tide Pods for the washing machine to wash towels.

Big House

The house is not what we expected. We were dazzle at the first walk through, but as we got time to see thing in greater details we were disappointed. 1. The provided fans the owner provided were dusty, it looked like it hasn’t been clean in years. As you can guess, opening the window is the only way to air the house (no ac). 2 window screens were missing 3. There were flies in the house when we arrived, and more on the patio area. The artificial grass they used needs to be clean because flies wouldn’t stop coming. 4. Bathrooms need ventilation, my friend number 2 took forever to air out. 5. They do provide some beach umbrellas and chairs, but some were broken. 6. There is an easy access gas line behind the bench area, this was very dangerous because my friend accidentally kick open the valve. We closed it immediately but this is a big hazard in our opinion. The clean towels, location, and easy instructions doe access were the best part. If I was younger in my days, I wouldn’t mind staying here again. Viet

Beach vacay

Large unit in a great location just a mere 100 or so ft from the boardwalk. Great hangout area in the front with a hot tub for those post surf waves and big party room with a pool table to wind the night down. Would recommend and stay here again!

Location was incredible as we were steps away from two beaches. House is big and clean with plenty of places to sleep. No air conditioning, but if you have the windows open and use the provided fans you will be plenty comfortable. Thank you for letting us stay here!

Great stay!

Staycation for four nights but had so much fun we extended for a fifth night. The layout of the house really worked great for my family of five and another family of four. Plenty of room for a bunch of friends to come over as well. The pool table was great. The location was perfect. And the small hot tub was a hit with the kids. Also the two car garage. Our stay at The Big House

If your needing a home for a large group ( I think it slept 15 plus a pull out sofa and air mattress) ( 2 kitchens) and only plan to sleep here then this house was good. Location was great and having the garage was good for our rental cars. However, it was not the cleanest place and It could use a lot of updating and sprucing up. Fruit flies in bottom floor kitchen and tiny ants in upstairs kitchen and bedroom with queen bed. Bathrooms definitely could use extra towel bars to hang wet towels . Thank goodness there were plenty of fans because we definitely used them to help sleep at night with windows wide open - no breeze without the fans running . I prefer a bit nicer and more of a comfortable place to stay but if your Looking for a place to sleep a lot of people in a good location and don’t plan on spending time in the house then this place is good.
