Very friendly staff! The hotel was very quiet. The Associates' white door near the front desk is in desperate need of cleaning and/or painting. Nearly all guests go by this door on their way to their rooms. At breakfast, the sausage was really dry/overcooked. Everything else was fine. We'll be back.

This hotel is kind of old and out of date. The person worked at front desk was not friendly. The room was kind of small for a suite. I'm a frequent traveler and have platinum elite status with Marriott so I used points for this stay. I guess that this was the reason that I got a room far away from elevator and closed to noisy street. Looks like this hotel was not welcome frequent traveler like me. Very sad.

We stayed at the Residence Inn San Diego Rancho Bernardo/ Scripps Poway because it was conveniently located between the San Diego Zoo and The San Diego Safari Park. It gives easy access to I15 and is about 15 miles and 20 minutes from each attraction. Once we reached the Inn we were impressed by the location near to a small strip mall with a gas station, Chili's restaurant, a Wendy's and Yanni's ( a very nice local restaurant with excellent food). Therefore there was no need to drive in order to get dinner after a long day site seeing. There is also a small pool and spa area in which to relax. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and gave us suggestions about the best time to leave for various places and drive times. Their advice was spot on. The rooms were large with full refrigerator and stove as well as microwave. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping staff kept things clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. The hotel provides a full breakfast between 6 and 9 AM and the food was very good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and waffles. As well as cereal, pastries, yogurt, and fruit. The staff kept everything clean and well stocked. Finally the Residence Inn offers appetizer/cocktail time after 6 PM. This offering was changed daily offering a variety of things from standard appetizers to Brats and beer, and food truck offerings. Taking everything into consideration The Residence Inn San Diego Rancho Bernardo is an excellent place to stay.

This hotel lives up to its name, "Residence Inn." When I stay here on business I feel as much at home as I have ever felt at any business hotel. The staff are especially sensitive to each guest's own needs. For example, Cindi oversees the no-charge "happy hour" events on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings; she excels in introducing hotel guests to each other to ensure no one has to feel alone. I make my reservations early to ensure that I can always get a room here.

We stayed here for 6 nights in a King studio and had a great time. The location was central (~ 25 minutes) to most of the touristy spots in San Diego. The kitchen was a big plus, the staff friendly and attentive. Having a bit of variety in the breakfast would have been a plus.

I was a little hesitant booking here because of my son's pet allergies. But we loved it. Oz PROMPTLY got an allergen-friendly room available for us when we experienced some irritation and asked one of the Houseman, Chase to ensure our room was extra free from anything that might cause inflammations. (GRATEFUL). Also, Ruth who did the delicious breakfast was so sweet and personable. She asked us if we needed anything and chatted with my children that they remember her! When we are traveling, we always want the most convenience and cleanliness for our family...and the staff delivered. We bbqed and chatted with another family one evening. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I truly appreciate it.

Decided to stay here rather than at our "brand" preference in part because of a group discount being offered for an event we were attending, and because of reviews I've come to rely on here. I would agree with the last reviewer on the need for some general upgrades. Rooms appear quite dated and in my opinion stuffed with too many pieces of furniture. If we had spent more time in the room I really believe it would come to feel claustrophobic. Very convenient freeway access. Food okay. The two staff members that we had contact with were very friendly and professional.

Staff was great. Breakfast was very good. Rooms leave a lot to be desired. Couch was threadbare and pull out for my son was uncomfortable. Appliances have been updated, but cabinets, furniture have not and really make the room look dated and not as clean as is expected from Marriott brand hotels. Would not classify the workout room as a workout room. 3 pieces of cardio equipment and 11 dumbbells is it. Carpets in elevator need a serious cleaning. We definitely will not choose this hotel again. We had stayed here 4 years ago, and it was fine. It truly needs work.

This is a great hotel, close to freeways but no freeway noise, the hotel is clean and has very friendly staff, great breakfast and Happy Hour drinks and food, Happy hour Cindy is fantastic! The hotel has appetizers and dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Stayed here one night for a business workshop at a close by location. Rooms were really great, very clean with full kitchens. Like a full suite with separate TV sitting area with couch and small table and chairs to sit and eat. Bedroom had another TV and very comfortable bed. Although there appeared to be quite a few families with kids that you could hear from the rooms as you walked down the hallway, there was no perceptible noise once you were in your room. Was impressed with the "extras": ice cream and wine service in the evening. Nice TV room and breakfast in the morning. Apparently the hot tub was not working and that was disappointing to those with families - pool area and patio looked nice and adequate. I used the recumbent bike in the work out room. It was clean and had everything I needed and completely empty when I used it. Front desk staff was very nice. Perfect for a business trip or family stay, I would say. Great deal. Fix the hot tub!!
