The South Central Texas Retreat is a very private, serene and peaceful refuge in a small gated community. The 1800sf, 3 bed/2 bath home is situated on a 1 acre lot on the edge of the Texas Hill Country and the Edwards Plateau.
We are a convenient 5-7 minutes away from city amenities. A modest 30 minute drive to downtown attractions of the City of San Antonio or the tubing attractions of Schlitterbahn or the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers.
We are less than a 5 minute drive to the Natural Bridge Caverns/Wildlife Ranch and the Bat Cave Conservatory site.
Fiesta Texas is a modest 30 minute drive and Sea World a 40 minute drive.
Boutique cities of Wimberly, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and Boerne are a 1hr to 1hr and 15 min drive respectively through the scenic Texas Hill Country.
Seasonal Festivities in our area include the San Antonio Rodeo and Livestock Exhibition (Feb), Fiesta (April/SA), NCAA Men’s Final Four (April) Valero Texas Open Golf Tournament (April), Randolph AFB Air Show (May), Wurstfest (Nov/New Braunfels) , Windcrest Festival of Lights (Dec), San Antonio Riverwalk Festival of Lights (Thanksgiving until Christmas) and the Valero AlamoBowl (late Dec) plus many more.

Simple access to the internet by scanning the QR code on the wall of the breakfast area or tent cards throughout. No worry with having the correct password.

San Antonio International Airport is a 30 minute drive and Austin Bergstrom Airport approx 1hr 20 min drive away.

We do not add additional fees. Our listed per night rates are our standard, except State occupancy taxes and the assessed platforms service charge.

This home is located in a beautiful neighborhood with very old oak trees. The check in process was easy. The host left us snacks and drinks and the host had all available items if you did not pack items like toothbrushes and toothpaste. The front porch looks out into nature and the view is spectacular. Also the distance was right down the road from our event. I would highly recommend staying here!

This is our fourth annual trip for the New Braunfels area with our four kids (8, 6, 4 and 10 months). First time to stay at this house, and we will totally stay here every time if possible. The house was the perfect size, great location, peaceful, clean, etc. From the moment of opening the door, there was thought and care with a little note, some snacks, soap, etc. I can’t recommend this house enough. The host was very responsive when asked a question.

Family trip

The amazing host was so on top of everything! The communication was top notch. We had our fur babys with us, they are big dogs, and they were ok with that. Our dogs are like our children and very well behaved! We were welcomed with a sweet note on the kitchen counter and treats!!! Yes treats!!! The bedrooms and bathrooms were so clean and it felt like home. It’s a very quiet neighborhood on the outer part of town. We will truly be using this host again next time we come to the area. Thank you so much for making this so simple.

Great VRBO for Garden Ridge Area

This was the perfect overflow house for graduation weekend. The size was perfect and check-in/check-out was easy. The Archer family communicated so clearly and was always helpful. I recommend this house and host!
