Comfort Inn & Suites2.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is now a Comfort Inn & Suites which I knew when I booked the room. It transitioned from a LaQuinta a few months ago. The rooms appear to be recently remodeled. Based on photos on this site, it appears that the floor tile and carpeting have been replaced. The furniture remains the same. If it is to stay a Comfort Inn I think they need to step up their game a little. The hotel is difficult to find as only the "o" was lit in the Comfort Inn sign — which I assume has to be brand new. I was not greeted as gold Choice Hotels member nor was I offered extra points or a gift, something they are supposed to for gold member customers. I had requested a top floor room but was given one on the second floor. The bed was squeaky, but it was comfortable. HVAC worked well, but as is typical, I had to set it much lower than I would my home thermostat. Water pressure for the shower could have been better. Breakfast was okay. Oddly there were packets of Quaker grits, but no oatmeal. A waffle maker had two kinds of batter to choose from. The "fried" eggs appeared to have been pre-cooked and heated and there were sausage links, also precooked. Both had been heated unevenly so one bite was hot, but another cold. There were also apples and oranges but no bananas, plenty of yogurt and pastries. It wasn't a bad stay, but I usually have better a experience at Comfort Inns. As with all San Antonio Hotels, expect a hefty amount of taxes (almost 17%) to be added to your bill. The location is very convenient to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and I suspect most of the clientele who stayed here this weekend visited the park, as many of them got in late, and were quite noisy — including the guests above my room.
We booked this room for the weekend and paid a little higher rate thinking we were gonna be staying in a LaQuinta Inn. To our surprise we got here and it is NOT a LaQuinta Inn anymore and definitely not the same quality!!!! Very disappointed!!!!!! I'm not even sure what the name of the hotel is!!!! The building says one thing, the room key says EconoLodge, and the receipt said Comfort Inn and Suites. I honestly stayed 2 nights at this place and can't tell you what the name of the place is!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
Don't be fooled by the La Quinta name...it is a poor representation of an always quality place to stay. There are many LaQuinta Inns in and around San Antonio, stay at one of them, not this one. The cost did not equate to quality.
I have stayed at several la Quintas in the past. This one is nicer than most. The bed was extremely comfortable. I had been traveling all day and had a seminar in the morning so getting a good night's rest was really important to me. It was wonderful to have a mattress with great support and great pillows too. The breakfast was good- while this is not a huge buffet, there is enough variety for most. The eggs and sausage both tasted good. This hotel is right by I10 so very convenient, however, far enough not to hear highway noise.
We stayed at this location because it was close to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The only problem was that there were roaches in the bathroom. Also, the door to the room didn't completely close. There was a big gap between the door and the frame. You could hear the guests as they walked by.
We were visiting Six Flags for an event with my job & this hotel is very nice & very close to the park. It is in a great area. It has severaL places to to choose from to grab a bite. The area is real nice & friendly.
We have stayed at this location a few times now and are always pleased. Nice rooms, affordable, clean. The only thing that bothered me was one luggage cart for use of guests...really? Every time I try to use it someone had it so I make 5 trips from room to vehicle with heavy loads. kind of hit a nerve with me but that's my only gripe. Besides that, fantastic hotel. Two thumbs up
I stayed at this property for 7 or 8 days a few months ago and found it a wonderful choice for us. Staff were all excellent and very interested in how happy I was throughout our stay. Nice quiet area, no loudness, or interruptions all week. Will go back when I get a chance. Prices were very fair.
This overall experience was not pleasant, tiring and very disheartening. I made these reservations well in advance and to get back to check in and be told that you have to find another place to stay because your employee told me I can not check in leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. With this being a tourist area, there should be a better check in process to avoid this situation from happening. Based on the responses I got from the morning crew and the night crew it does not seem that everyone is on the same page. I feel that you need to be aware of issues like this to make the experience better for the guests and employees.
Stay was ok. Towels had hair on them, but, other than that it was clean. The breakfast area has a good selection of food including scrambled eggs, and sausage as well as the regular cereal, oatmeal, sweet rolls, etc. Had some noise problems with youth groups staying near us.
