The hotel had one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in on trips. I think the pillows are goose feathers. The breakfast buffet is quite small but u must try thier jam selection. The hotel is about 5 to 10 min walk to the center of town, depending on how fast you walk. However if u want a quicker way take O-bus 3 (Same bus to get from the train station to get to the hotel. Once your off the bus walk towards Shell petrol Station, the hotel is in that direction)
I have recently visited Salzburg, since I live overseas and was looking for a place for friends, who are intending to visit Salzburg in summer. They are not keen to stay in old town, so I stumbled upon this beautiful property a few minutes walk from old time. It took me 20 minutes from Getreidegasse to the Hotel (walking slow pace). While visiting the premises I also sat down in the Courtyard facing the Chapel and enjoyed a drink, before heading back to old town. The Restaurant Salieri was not busy, but looked very inviting and cosy. Had the chance to talk to the charming head waiter, Mr. Otto. A true gentlemen of its' kind. Old school! I'm sure he is a great asset to this hotel. What a delight to having had the chance to meet him. He definitely sold me the hotel and I'm sure that my friends will be in good hands staying there. Looking forward to being back for a lovely dinner soon. Thank you Mr. Otto for taking your time. Highly appreciate your efforts taken.
Excellent hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Good selection of food for breakfast. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the old town. Would definitely recommend.
Can't fault it! Accommodation, service, excellent breakfast, location, staff, restaurant all second to none. Parking available. Would highly recommend to anyone. Wanted room for September 2017 but fully booked 😢
It is 10 min walking from tourists beloved oldtown, so you can enjoy quiet stay here. Breakfast is rich and tasty, you can expect fresh fruits and vegetables, hot cruasants, eggs etc. Staff is friendly, rooms are spaciuos and clean. Just a notice: most shops are open just untill 6pm, so take care about gifts during day time.
We liked the hotel but felt it was over-priced and a little far out. Good points - great breakfasts, served at a reasonable hour! - Served between 6.30 - 11am, not everyone wants to be up at the crack of dawn. Large communal areas. Hotel was clean and all staff were pleasant, and helpful. We had a room overlooking the garden and patio area at the back, which was quiet enough, but I imagine in the summer months when people are enjoying a drink this would be noisy. Comfortable beds. Powerful shower although, like the room, it was small. Bad points - Rooms were small along with the shower room, no nice toiletries, mini-bar only, no tea and coffee making facilities, although there was an iron and board. In my humble opinion there is no hotel room in the world that wouldn't be improved by having tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant was pricey and not a huge selection. Admittedly, we didn't eat there because of this and therefore I am unable to comment on the quality of the food. The thing that may put a lot of potential visitors off is the distance from the centre. It's a good 15 minute walk from the centre of Salzburg, having said that, it's not an unpleasant walk and if seemed safe enough, even at night and the bus stop is almost outside. The plus side of all the walking is that you can go to town (quite literally) and scoff some of the fabulous cakes available in all the "konditorei" and not put on too many pounds!
It is good hotel, we stayed there for the second time. We came back because we really liked it first. However there were two things this time that upset us a bit: 1. they charged our credit card on arrival with some deposit - we got it back at check-out but it still had this feeling that they didn't trust us 2. we had to pay for the car park at check out which was not the case last year and came as a surprise Overall it is a good hotel though.
Nice, quiet hotel with a really good location, close to Salzburg Old Town. We were there quite early byt got a room right away. Hotel consists of a few buildings and we stayed on the "new" side. The room was spacious and clean and the internet worked really well. Breakfast was delicious too!
This is very ok hotel about 15 minutes walking ti Salzburg center. Salzburg is boring city and this hotel fits in this boring atmosphere. Servis is ok, breakfast to and Prices are very ok for Salzburg. 80-120€ depending on Season. Value for money is very good.
Came here with a tour group. Clean and Tidy Rooms, Great Breakfast selection. It has a good view from the lift Lobby towards the Bavarian Alps. A funny incident where I thought the Blue or Brie cheese on the cheese platter is a cheese cake, got lectured by one of the staff but It was alright haha :) The garden of the hotel is great too and there is a shell station nearby to pick up some minor groceries too. In summary, this hotel feels like home, I will definitely visit this hotel again the next time I visit Salzburg.
