This was definitely the best hotel my wife & I stayed at during a recent fast-paced one-week-in-Europe tour we took this fall. It was really the only place we felt to be both comfortable and romantic, and you could take a leisurely stroll in the evening or morning and look at the wonderful riverside scenery. The staff was accommodating and friendly in a number of languages. Would really like to go back someday.
E spent two lovely days here. A small but comfortable room. Very nice breakfast!! Very kind and friendly staff as well!! But the best thing about this hotel is its location!! A very nice short walk from the town center!! We loved the tow and the hotel!! Will surely visit it again!!
family run, friendly hotel located in peaceful locality. We had our four night stay , in this cozy hotel. Comfortable rooms & bed, Good breakfast... after good sleep on comfotable bed.... youare ready for sightseeing... hotel is neat Railway station.
Great location as it is only a 7 Minute walk from the main train station and I think 15 Min from the city center. The staff is nice and helpful. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. There is a fridge and a small dining area in the room. Bathroom is small. I would stay there again.
The hotel room is a bit small, but nice. The bad was very comfortable. The location was only a couple blocks from the train station and just down the street from sightseeing. The buffet breakfast was excellent!
Hotel property very convenient to the train station. Fifteen minute walk to the old city. Staff polite and perfunctory. Very few to no restaurants close by. Property is very well taken care of and clean. It's like stepping back into the 1960s. Web site is inaccurate. No restaurant, excepting for the buffet breakfast. Bar is minimal and manned ny the desk personnel.
The hotel ubication is perfect for quick and easy connection to the airport and the central bus and train station. The interior design is vintage but cozy. The rooms are comfortable and the staff was very nice to us. We needed to take a flight so early in the morning and the staff prepared us a breakfast bag for the trip.
In September we stayed two days at the hotel as part of a group booking and our overall impression was that this hotel is quite small and very average. There is no disabled access for wheelchair users at the hotel. Breakfast was adequate but guests were regularly having to ask staff to replenish bread, milk, tea bags etc, Perhaps the number of guests at the hotel exceeded their staffing situation. Other than breakfast there is no food available to us at the hotel which seemed unusual for a four star hotel. The bar and lounge are inadequate in both size and seating capacity for a group sized booking. Our room was a reasonable size - to the extent that a third bed had been squeezed into the seating area! The beds are all small sized single beds (perhaps 3 feet width). There is free WiFi and free safe for guests, there are facilities for tea/coffee making, and also a fridge with mini bar though there are no free drinks, The Fire Safety instructions consist of a very basic sketch to show which way to go in an emergency. The sketch has absolutely no written instructions in any language. Further, there are no instructions to instruct guests as to what they should do in the event they discover a fire or an emergency. I cannot believe the City Safety inspectors have passed such a shabby example of safety. The bathroom was small but adequate and included a separate walk-in shower but guests should beware as the water temperature fluctuates rapidly between cold and scalding. Bathroom towels were good and a hairdryer is supplied. The hotel has a couple of restaurants within about 500 metres but these tend to get full quite early in the evening so it is advisable to book in advance if possible. There is no direct bus route from the hotel to the old centre (tourist area) but the hotel will call you a taxi and the fare into the city is around 10 Euros. The reception staff were polite and helpful.
If it would not have rained, it would have bee wonderful, but nobody can count on that. The room was very clean and the staff extremely helpful. We would come to this hotel again. The breakfast was very fresh and there was a good variety of food and fruits.
We stayed at Hotel Scherer for 1 night and were really satisfied! The location is really good (very close to the central station, 20min walk to the old town), our room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly and they even let us leave our luggage there until our train left at night. Would definitely stay there again!
