Everything was great

beautiful hotel and very nice view over the river, able to dee the old town, very close to everything

The hotel was under renovation during our stay, which makes a review somewhat difficult. Our room was quite small, but had lovely furnishings and was very attractive. The dining rooms were also very attractive and charming.

Very well located. Little bit old. But I like my room all decorate in Toile de Juy style. No much staff to assist you, even to Tre the famous Sacher Tart.

Absolutely comfortable stay, immediately adjacent to the footbridge over the river to old Salzburg. We are from Florida and we thought we were in Disney World again.

What a wonderful experience at the Hotel Sacher in Salzburg. The service, rooms and staff are amazing. The location stellar. It is truly a wonderful place to stay to enjoy the charm that Salzburg has to offer!

Excellent hotel, super friendly and helpful hotel staff

I had to make last minute changes and they were so acommidating and helpful. Absolutely beautiful location and we'll located. The whole experience was as indulgent as their tortes(which they leave a piece for you on arrival).

If you are visiting Salzburg, then Sacher hotel is the place to stay

The hotel is beautiful and very charming with a lot of character. However, we were disappointed to find out upon checkout that we had a concierge fee for booking a tour. No one notified us of this fee and no other hotels in Europe charged us fees for booking tours. In addition, when we asked about a discount we had, the staff would not take it. Lesson learned, we should have booked the tour ourselves to avoid unnecessary fees. Throughout our stay the front desk staff seemed as if we were inconveniencing them as they were constantly busy, which may just be the case in the summer.

Spent two nights at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg recently and found the service at the hotel to be second-to-none. It is a true five-star experience in every respect. I booked a standard room, which was small by American standards, but perfectly appointed and with a perfect view of the Old Town and the fortress across the river. The bathroom had heated floors, a waterfall shower (though no bathtub) and chocolate-scented soaps/lotions. The room itself had a mini-bar, safe and a HUGE flat-screen TV (although only about three TV channels were in English, all of them news.) There is daily turndown service in addition to the regular housekeeping. And upon check-in, I found a fruit plate and a sample of the hotel's famous Sachertorte, which is out of this world. (I had also emailed a request for a carton of milk to be waiting for me in the mini-bar, and was pleased to see it there when I arrived.) The only complaint I had (and it was minor) is that the temperature in the room was hard to control. I tried playing with the air conditioning, but still found the room too hot/stuffy -- finally I just decided to open the window in the evenings, though this was a little complicated as the blinds had to be up in order for the window to open. I ate in both the grill and the fine dining restaurant during my stay and had two excellent meals with very attentive service. I also appreciated the location of the hotel, close to the Mirabell Gardens and easy to walk across the bridge to the Old Town. Overall, an excellent, world-class hotel. Highly recommended.

The only thing the hotel needs is to upgrade their exercise equipment.

This Hotel is luxurious in appearance. The staff is very friendly and service oriented. However, the room rate, and breakfast were overpriced for the value.

The Hotel Sacher ranks as the best hotel I have stayed hands down. The staff was wonderful, the room with a view of the Salzach River fantastic, the amenities perfect, and the location just right. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy there stay in Salzburg.

Room was very nice, staff friendly and responsive. Locations was very good next to the river, but do not expect a room with a view. They wanted an additional 700 euros per night to move to a room overlooking the old city. I think there are better options for the price so the value of this hotel is average at best even though the hotel is very nice, just overpriced.

The location, staff, and service we're all great. The rooms are LARGE, even for their smallest room. The hotel has a pedestrian bridge at their back door that leads right into the old town - couldn't ask for more.

I got a good deal on this hotel through Orbitz and found the prices reasonable, especially after my stay in the ever-expensive city of Munich. This hotel is grand and part of the landscape of Salzburg, plus it shares its name with the grand-dame hotel of Vienna. I think that staying here enhanced my experience of Salzburg. It was a treat to check into a formal hotel like this one after two nights in a small hotel in down-town Munich. I very much appreciated the valet service, the bell men, and concierge service which I used to book two great tickets to an intimate Baroque music recital in the Mirabell Palace. Surprisingly, some of the desk staff were not very proficient in English, but almost everyone spoke enough to get by and they were patient and nice when I mangled their language. The room was quiet and well laid-out although the decor was a bit disappointing and the carpet a little worn. There was also a crack in the wall and I could occasionally hear children running in the room above me. But, these are the "charms" of older hotels and we found everything clean and comfortable. The closets were well designed and the room safe was larger than most. There was a nice plate of chocolate truffles and two mini Sacher Torts waiting upon arrival - a very sweet touch. Outside the room, the great atrium was very much what one expects to find in a hotel of this caliber, but the hallways and elevators were postered with corporate advertisements for other hotels in their chain. This was a bit tacky. The bathroom was the real joy here - large, modern and well-lit. There were large towels and even wash-rags (rare in Europe). The robes were plush and turn-down service included slippers and foot-mats beside the bed. The large windows opened to let in the fresh river air, but closed tightly enough at night so that no noise came in from outside. They even had air-conditioning! My only complaint was that the mattresses were just too hard for me and I could not sleep on my side without my back getting sore. I did not use any of the hotel amenities except for the parking service and the concierge desk. I understand that there area couple of restaurants and a health club on the premises. The hotel is literally right over the river from the old town - a 5 minute walk - and it felt great to walk back towards it over the river each night for a good night's sleep. I definitely recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal on the price.

This hotel has an ambience that makes you feel like you are indeed in the very best of Salzburg Hotels and feel like Royalty, the staff are very friendly and also the breakfast is excellent and don't miss the Sacher Torte. The quality generally is par excellence, the location is almost perfect for Salzburg within easy walking distance of town ( about 3-5 minutes) , buses and also a nice walk along the river. We stayed in the rooms not facing the river but on the upper floors where it was quiet, the beds were excellent and quality of linen was good. My wife and I had a delightful time, did look like being in the Sound of Music city.
