We really had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The personnel was extremely friendly, professional and did everything to let us enjoy. It was a perfect stay since we could enjoy both the city and visit the Mountains for skying. Our room was wonderful and large and very clean. And the location in the lof city was perfect, with restaurants and shops on walking distance. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and return to this hotel.

We stayed here recently for four nights and loved everything about this old style hotel situated in a perfect location in old town and only fifty metres from Mozartplatz. We stayed in an executive room which was spacious and comfortable including a living room and separate bath room. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Just stayed the last two nights in the Radisson and had a blast. The gal that check us in Sunday was especially nice and helpful (sorry forgot her name)! The location was ideal, the room was a good size and even had a small view of the castle and church domes that was great! My only recommendation is that we booked "The Radisson" but the name on the outside of the hotel was different and challenging to find so I recommend better advanced coordination with guests in order to drop off bags, park etc. as that was all slightly difficult. Otherwise the place is perfect and looks great in it's historic building.

We stayed in the Radisson Blu Hotel Alstadt for 2 nights in early March. The hotel itself is in an amazing location in the beautiful city of Salzburg. The rooms are huge and well equipped. We didn't have included breakfast but the hotel's cafe was very nice with good quality food. We did have some issues with the room and the service though. We reported that the tiles on the bath hiding access to the plumbing had fallen off and that with our toddler running about this could be dangerous. They promised that while we were out for the day they would repair it. When we got back that evening we found the tiles had been removed leaving the access to the plumbing open and highlighting damage to the shower hose. This meant we were unable to use the bath and especailly not bathe our daughter. We called reception and they sent someone up who said he was unable to help and a repairman would come the following day. The following day(Saturday) we again raised the issue with the duty manager who told us that there were no repairs at the weekend... disappointing. Would have been 5 stars but found the lack of interest concerning...

We stayed here for a three night break in Salzburg and could not have been more pleased with the hotel. We had a warm welcome from reception on arrival and were helped with our luggage by the delightful and helpful porter, who was charming, efficient and always there when you needed him.. The only downside is the parking which is a bit of a way away from the hotel ( but to be fair I think that is the case for all the hotels in the Altstadt) and you certainly want to be in this part of town as it is delightful. The hotel is in a lovely old building and full of character. It is nicely appointed and we had an excellent large room on the third floor which was very nicely appointed with super king bed, coffee machine, large bathroom with upmarket toiletries etc. The only thing we had to eat at the hotel was a soup one lunch time in the cafe which was very nice otherwise we ate out. We would have eaten in the hotel the first night but we thought the menu looked somewhat unexciting. All the staff were delightful, reception staff and the great guy from Berlin who ran the bar in the evening who was utterly charming. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in Salzburg which is a lovely city.

We stayed a night 03/03/17 The hotel was in a fab position. Our room was excellent I have read other reviews where they said the Hotel was "Old" it is not old it is traditional. Room was excellent, Service was excellent The room had everything you needed The hotel was in such a good position I would recommend Panorama Tours we had a very good informative trip

This is an absolute delight and right in the heart of Aldstadt. The location could not be better. The staff are very friendly & hospitable. The building is 500 years old so very interesting. If you're driving, I would pay the additional for valet parking (unless your very adept at driving).

As previous reviewers have said the hotel is in a great location ideally situated for just about everything. The hotel is a little old and tired but has character. Our room was comfortable especially the bed. The bathroom was okay with a very annoying shower head but it all worked and did the job.I would recommend the hotel the only downside being was that the staff were not overly friendly. The breakfast staff all looked very miserable and fed up. Full marks to the bedroom cleaning lady who was smiley and very happy.

This is a modern hotel, integrated into several buildings dating back to the 1300s. They have done a wonderful job of creating a classy, comfortable atmosphere, while retaining and exposing some of the original structure. There were definitely some positives and some negatives: Positives: Location: can't be beat! - step out the door and you are in the middle of the old city, with lots of shopping, bars, restaurants, and other attractions. Staff: very friendly and helpful. Room: we had a suite on the 2nd floor river side - it was spacious with a very comfortable bed. It consisted of a large bedroom and a small entry room with 2 chairs, a table and a TV. Not sure if it was worth paying extra for the suite, since the extra room did not have a sofa and was very small - we didn't really use it. No matter how nice the hotel is, the only thing that really matters is sleep quality, and unfortunately here is where the hotel is let down. There is a disco downstairs in the same building - and on Saturday night we had the night from hell. There is totally inadequate sound proofing, so from midnight till 4:00 am the noise was intolerable. At one point our bed was vibrating when they turned up the bass. At 2:00 we considered going to the train station and coming home. The staff were very empathetic but since the hotel does not own the disco there was nothing they could do. They did say that if we come back for another visit, they would be able to put us into a quieter room - but honestly, we paid a lot for this room and expected better from a 5 star hotel. We should have been warned in advance and given the choice of a quiet room before taking this one that should have been rented out for no more than 30 euro due to the noise. I am giving this review a rating of average due to the horrible night - otherwise I would have rated it as very good.

This hotel is in the best location you can get for getting around Salzburg old town. However you would never find the hotel unless you are virtually upon it. The "Hotel Altstadt" name appears prominently but the "Radisson Blu" sign is a bit inconspicuous. Traveling by car? If you can park on the road outside the hotel by the river as it is easier to offload and check-in. We did not know this and we tried to enter via the retractable bollards entering Mozartplatz. There is no buzzer for the hotel (although there are for other hotels), my wife had to run around to find the hotel (made more difficult because of the inconspicuous Radisson Blu sign noted above) to get a temporary code to enter, offload and check-in. There is no parking at the hotel, but they will give you directions to the nearest parking area which is about 300 meters away and an easy walk. The hotel itself seems like it is a few buildings knocked together. Corridors going this way and that, steps in the middle of corridors etc, but this all adds to the charm of the hotel. The room we had was very spacious, but sparsely furnished. Two twin beds pushed together and a sofa bed for our 10 year old daughter was sufficient for us. The furnishings are "olde worlde" and compliments the decor and construction of the hotel. The bathroom was massive. Had a huge, long bath tub which the wife enjoyed every day.... the shower was tiny though compared to the rest of the bathroom and the shower head was terrible, it would not stay in one place as the locking mechanisms did not seem to work. The breakfast was certainly good. A nice mix of hot items such as scrambled eggs and bacon, and then cold selections of meats, cheeses and salmon, along with fresh fruits and juices. However we had a bad experience our first day. With no-one around and our daughter wanting a waffle, my wife decided to make it herself, only for an older spectacled waitress to appear and scream at my wife to leave it alone, only the cook can make the waffles. We waited on the cook to make the waffle and it took 20 minutes for it to cone. The only cook on duty was running back and forward between the kitchen cooking eggs for people and the waffle maker. After burning two waffles, our daughter finally got her waffle after 20 minutes. This is a very nice hotel in the best location possible. Most of the staff were wonderful, spoilt only by the very disappointing experience at breakfast. The rooms are well appointed, good breakfast. What else can you ask for. If we ever return to Salzburg, which we may do next year, we would rebook to stay here.
