This hotel was not terrible but many things led to my poor rating. One thing that the hotel can't really help is the location of the building. It is in a pretty ghetto area of Salzburg right near the train station. I have felt safer walking around downtown St. Louis. I am not sure if I just came during a bad time of the year but a few of the surrounding cafes and restaurants had closed. If I had to guess it would be because this area was taking a nose dive. The bed was hard as a rock like sleeping on the floor. They also programmed their a/c to not go below a certain temperature. I understand most places in this area don't have them at all but at a big name hotel I would expect a little more perks. I called the front desk and they told me to open the window which was pretty hot at the time. This hotel would have done better to choose a location outside of pikeyville. The outskirts of Salzburg were nice but if you are visiting Austria go to hallstatt. It is way more tourist friendly and very beautiful.
We stayed for 3 nights and had a great stay. The rooms are spacious and modern, the breakfast is excellent with lots on offer - although if you're a vegetarian, best to have an omelette to order. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.
We arrived to stay here for 3 nights , and was 3 nights too many. The room was suppose to be for 3 people that we had reservations for , and we kept only getting enough towels , cups, and pillows etc for two people. When we went down to the front desk, as our room phone did not work, we still only got enough for two people. Our dirty dishes were never cleaned up from one day to the next , nor were our coffee and tea supplies replenished. Some of the wall plugins did not work, so was difficult for three of us to recharge our cell phones , without taking turns to use working plug ins. The maid would forget to give us enough or any towels at all , and one day she left the cleaning supplies behind in our room! Again, when we brought this to the front desks attention, they gave us two free drink tickets to use in their bar, not three, one for each of us, so we gave them to a couple who were in the bar already drinking. The beds were very hard bs the rooms had poor ventilation. When we left a room card in the power supply box, to keep the fans going, the maid would take our room key card, when they left after making our beds up for the day. So now we only had two room keys for the three of us staying here! OMFG !!!!! We would never stay here again , or recommend it to any one else. The hostel across the street , would probably be a better choice to stay while visiting Salzburg .
This large hotel and conference centre is very close to the railway station, and just 20 minutes from the heart of Salzburg. The room was well equiped and very comfortable and there was a good breakfast buffet. We didn't have dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant.
Phones in the room didn't work Three electrical plugs didn't work Everyday we had to ask for clean coffee cups and a refill Maid left all her cleaning products inthe bathroom Not the greatest on customer service
Well first of all the location was ideal! Close to train station, local restaurants, and shopping. I got lucky and was upgraded to the 6th floor, the business suites:). Very nice hardwood floors, super clean and modern bathrooms, and a great nespresso machine! Prices of mini bar were very good, TV was huge and able to swing in any direction in the room, and living area was very cozy.
Once again, selecting a hotel near the train station proved to be a winning plan. We made a mid-vacation decision to spend a day in Salzburg and reserved a room at the Wyndham Grand the night before. Our decision was once again based on location (near the train station) and price. We got off the train, walked about two blocks and we were rewarded with fine room at a decent price. Everything worked, the room was clean, the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. As a bonus - the staff recommended a restaurant for dinner and called a cab for us. Now arranging for a taxi is well within standard hotel service but the restaurant recommendation of the restaurant was SPOT ON! That turned out to be a fabulous dinner and great end to the day.
I've been here before only because my work specified this hotel. It is old and dirty. The rooms are dark and ugly and haven't been updated in a very long time. I hope to never stay here again. I'm guessing that it doesn't cost very much.
Stayed in one of the newly renovated Club rooms and it was very nice. Spacious, modern and the bathroom facilities were very good.
very close to the Salzburg train station (3 mins walk). You can walk along the river and get to the old town in 20 mins but it is a really nice walk with stunning scenery. The hotel is well equipped with very friendly staff. The family room was spacious and modern with good wifi. Fitness centre was good.
