My partner and i visited last month and loved our stay. The facility's are amazing, the gym, sauna pool and spa's were well worth it. The staff who served us were really friendly and nice. The all you can eat breakfast was a great way to start the day. Unfortunately the only reason for the lower mark is the fact the air con doesnt work properly. So the rooms are really hot at night so at times you get sleepless nights.
This place is very nice. Comfortable rooms, great service and easy parking. It is also very close to the lake front and fantastic restaurants. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a great place to stay in Rotorua.
I would have given this hotel 5 stars but we had an adjoining room which is fine for families but I didn't appreciate being able to hear conversation from the next room at all hours. They were not noisy they were operating at normal volume but there is no sound proofing between adjoining rooms. Other than that great location great staff and good Hotel
This is a great location with easy parking. There are all the amenities one expects of a Novotel with the added bonus of views over the lake. It is conveniently located near shops and restaurants. The service was efficient and friendly and a great room which was clean and spacious. This hotel has plenty of space, a nice gym and pool and makes you feel welcome straight away. I enjoyed the stay and would happily recommend and return.
Had a very nice stay at Novotel. Very friendly staff and clean and comfortable room. I liked the location of the hotel in Rotorua right near the lake and close to many restaurants. This meant I could just park and leave my car in the hotel car park and roam around the city on foot when we were not making a long trip outside of Rotorua. We had a buffet breakfast and it was very good. The options were great and they had a live chef for eggs and pancakes. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. It was clean and had a nice bathtub I could relax in (This may be a weird comment but I have stayed at plenty of similar hotel rooms that disappointingly didn't have bathtubs.). The beds were nice and big, while firm and soft. Very comfortable for me. They also had ample desk space and space for luggage. The hotel seemed modern enough especially for a place like Rotorua which isn't like a "big city" such as Auckland. This made our stay feel more luxurious. My room had a nice view of the lake and it was very relaxing. All the staff I talked to were very friendly. They are very approachable and I felt like I did not need to hesitate to talk to them. They were very pleasant and made my visit that much more relaxing and happy. Right from the front desk, to restaurant staff to even the lovely staff refilling the towels in the pool. I was very happy with the amenities. This was one of the best hotel gyms I have been to. While small, it really felt like a dedicated gym area close to the pool. Most other hotels that I have been to make it feel like I'm stuck in a normal hotel room that instead of beds just happens to have a few bits of gym equipment. This gym had about three treadmills, 3-4 standard weight machines and a bench (I wish they had atleast another bench though). They had a surprisingly decent range of dumbbells. It went up to 20kg when I'm used to hotels having a pretty pitiful range that goes up to 10kg. It was also really nice being able to soak in a heated pool as well as the smaller thermal pools. The sauna was nice too. They also have free unlimited WiFi which is very handy. When not out and about you can relax in the hotel and browse or watch something on your device quite comfortably. I was disappointed in some finer details such as the carpet in the hallways. They seemed a bit messy and reached short of the walls and you could see the hard floor underneath. It made it feel like the carpets were not finished being installed or they were temporary. Maybe they had just done a fresh renovation to the hotel and were just short of finished? The in-room entertainment isn't anything to write home about. The TV is pretty average and old-feeling. You have to pay for movies which seems standard. The channels are pretty standard with regular free to air channels and the normal sky channels available at most hotels. I did regret not bringing an HDMI cable with me as I brought my laptop and I could've easily connected that to the TV and provided my own entertainment via Netflix/Youtube. I asked the front desk if it was possible to borrow one and while they were friendly they did not lend these cables to guests. Overall very happy with my stay at Novotel. I have no doubt it contributed hugely to a very relaxing and happy weekend away. I was very content staying here and look forward to staying here again.
We were greeted with a smile and quickly signed in. We had a nice view from our room (442) The service was great and friendly by all staff across the board. My partner who was the birthday girl had a little surprise left in our room for her. A lovely thought made by the hotel staff. A big thank you. The room was lovely and clean and is serviced every day if you wish. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Well worth a stay
We were upgraded to a junior suite because of Accor Advantage Plus Platinum. A great suite with views out over the lake - the best room in the house. The bed was too soft for me but I still slept well. Bathroom ok except the shower is over the bath which can be awkward to access. The air conditioning was warm & would not cool. A technician came & improved the situation a bit. He said it was because of changeover from winter (geothermal heating) to summer cooling. The staff were very helpful. The restaurant was well presented with buffet dinner and a la carte. There was a chef cooking fresh at both breakfast (buffet) & dinner. The food was satisfactory. The hotel is right in town & Eat Street is outside the front door. A short walk to the lake with other activities. The hotel has a pool as well as hot pools (41 degrees).
If you are not expecting much this place is fine. The room was small and a bit grubby but sheets were clean. The pool area needs a damn good clean. The restaurant is the saving grace, great staff, good food and a reasonable price point.
Booked 2 nights at Novotel Rotorua. Have stayed previous and had great time. Facilities and food great. Only complaints were the beds are small and I did advise was mine and my husbands wedding anniversary but nothing special was done.
I’ll e this place, I stay here for business every time I’m in the township, the service is excellent where every person we come across is great. The food is phenomenal, breakfast, lunch and dinner TOP quality. Love staying here
