Nice location and environment. Hotel located the nearby fine restaurant and pub etc. Spacious room and clean, especially the bed large and so comfy. Nice restaurant in the hotel complex and bar too, bar has a big screen so hang around another people to cheer supporting team.
It would be an understatement to say that the Novotel's restaurant has any morsel of edible food! Wed 13.06.2018 was a work staff evening out for dinner. The restaurant ambience was warm and inviting until I approached the buffet and viewed the food display on offer. For dinner the food sections should be plentiful, fresh looking, attractive displays, clean and most of all edible. The seafood looked not fresh. I had seafood chowder which lacked variety in fish and was over thickened with flour. The salad section was limp and non existent. The cold meats were in a fridge cabinet instead of on an iced display. The hot dish selections were minimal and had been sitting for some time drying out. The steak from the grill was edible but grey in colour and looked steamed rather than grilled. Looking forward to dessert was a disappointment. Too many serving spoons had already mushed up all the dessert dishes and the 2 ice cream scoops had been left swimming in watery graves without any water change. Very unhygenic! The worst part of all this inedible experience was the outrageous charge at the end of the night. This is not a good look for Rotorua. Hell will freeze over before we ever return to this restaurant.
Good central location, walk to the lake, park, garden and central city. The room was spacious with basic amenities. The service was poor, any requests needed to ask twice and took a long time to be delivered. Breakfast was good, but other meals were not up to the standard expected.
This was a 1 night break away. I have never stayed at the hotel, but did attend for an evening function a few years back. This attracted me to the indoor pool as we could get in the afternoon and have play in the hot pool and a soak in the luke warn spas (note to management, please check spa temperatures, as they were a lot cooler than stated). The facilities were all good, the sauna's (2) were both not working. The room was a junior suite and when ready just call reception to make up the sofabed. The room was nice and clean, everything working as it should and the bed was comfy. The heating worked very well in the room. The room was a good size, but when the sofa bed was out it did take up a fair bit of room. The location is close to the lake and close to the shops. Lots of parking for hotel guests. Check in was fine and the person who checked us in sorted out the discrepancy between the rate I booked at and the rate in the system without a drama or hassle. The restaurant was good and staff very helpful. We ate in for Dinner and Breakfast. Would stay again.
The rooms are good, clean and spacey. I stayed in a corner room with windows on 2 sides and a nice lake view. The breakfast service has a great variety and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again if in Rotorua.
This hotel is nicely situated by lake Rotorua and also close to the town. It as great views of the lake and the town. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable, very relaxing sleep! There is an in house restaurant, the food is very nice and reasonably priced. The staff are very welcoming, always available for questions and go the extra mile to give you a correct answer, (this is one thing that I have learnt about Kiwis, very helpful and polite). I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
After a long day, it was a great place to stop and rest. With an in-house restaurant with great food and a separate bar, it had everything I needed to refresh and refuel. The team on reception and in the bar were excellent. The maitre D in the restaurant was good but could do well to remember to breath when it's busy.
Very welcoming team at the front desk, very comfortable and clean room. Ordered room service and this was delivered very promptly, with a big smile and great service from the lovely lady who delivered it and was very tasty This hotel is in a very handy location to town and amenities. Thanks Novotel Rotorua for a great stay.
We stayed at Novatel during our visit to Roturua and were very satisfied The location is perfect being right next to the beautiful Lake Roturua and next to the Eat Street which comes alive at night and is a great place to have drinks and a meal One can use the thermal /heated pools of the hotel itself or walk down to the Polynesian spa if one desired There is smell of sulphur even in the hotel and in fact I the town as the thermal activity can surprisingly be even seen in some of the houses and their font or backyards The Maori village is also nearby
The hotel staff as usual were helpful and friendly (what else do you get from Kiwis). The room was clean a spacious but a bit old. The buffet dinner was plentiful and delicious (although pricey if you are not a Accor member and get it half price for two), and the breakfast was great also. Overall a pleasant stay.
