We stayed at this place after a 24hr flight. Just outside of Rome as we intended. Recovery before we headed north to Umbria and Tuscany. An easy 2 to 3 hour drive. Clean basic rooms, good breakfast and ok dinners in a nice setting. The venue was used for a baptism and wedding the nights we were there. Footballers wives meets the Godfather! We visited the castle in Bracciano with the kids. A real treat. Also drove into Rome by car on Sunday morning. Doable. Position close to GRA makes this a good spot to get in/out of Rome. Thanks for a nice stay.

Great hotel in old Castel style. 3 time we where there. Last time we had our wedding party at the hotel. Perfect place to find rest and perfect view during nice dinner after a day in busy Rome. Public transportation start in front of the hotel and brings you to metro station. Rooms are clean and all what you need nice decorated in the hotel style. For people who also want to have some rest the hotel is perfect.

This hotel is about 20-30min drive from the centre of Rome. If you want to spend a lot of your visit in Rome I don't think this is ideal. There is a shuttle bus to the nearest metro station but it is something I would only use occasionally. On the other hand the hotel is in a beautiful part of the country and peace and quiet are at a premium. The myriad of birds in the woods around the hotel, sing through most of the night which strangely adds to the tranquility of the location. Where the hotel is at its best is as a wedding venue. My daughter was married there in May and it was fantastic. My daughter smiled from the moment it started till the very end. The organization was superb the meal and the fireworks stunning. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue as a wedding location or maybe as a conference venue...

For about 60 euros a night, I enjoyed this beautiful hotel with a more than fair room for this price. It is around 25 mins driving from the center of Rome (i.e. coliseum), but I loved it after a long and stressing day walking around they busy streets of Rome. My summary; far from being a luxurious place (obviously for this price), it is very fair option price/service whenever you have a car to move at your convenience.

My husband and I have just returned from an eight day break here. We had a wonderful time. Excellent service. Happy hardworking staff on hand. If you are in need of a break and like doing nothing then try Relais Castrum. Peace and quiet. Just what we needed. We did venture out a tiny bit! There are few beaches within easy reach. And, about the same distance to a great National Parks that has a huge lake where you can take a dip in the clear water. Although the city of Rome is reasonably close we decided not to venture there on this trip. We can honestly say ... great chef, great waiters and waitresses. And, we had clean sheets on the bed everyday. - thank you to the beautiful lady that fixed our room each day. We hope to return. Paul and Di Peach

We chose this hotel based on its location (midway to shore and center of Rome - 20km each) and its promising luxury like room pictures. Our honeymoon was as expected and we really enjoyed our stay. But I think the final budget of our six night stay was much more expensive than it was written on the receipt. Recalculation of our expenses compared to the cash we carried with ourselves I think during our everyday breakfast the staff took out € 250-350 in sum from my wallet. We realized this happening on our final day with my last €50. I checked my wallet before breakfast and it was missing after we got back to our room. I immediately went down to the reception to ask who entered while we were away but the chip card log had shown noone other than me. I have to mention that each door has a key lock as well. There are no cameras installed on the corridors either. I got no answer to that who has regular keys to our room. I read a lot of hotel staff robbery in Italy. I recommend to use the safe and/or carry your cash always with you (even to toilet or to the shower). I figured to buy a small spy camera next time and install it in the hotel room to have always a clue in case.

This hotel is in the countryside about 10 miles outside Rome and 25mins from Fiumicino Airport. Spent 3 days there. Free upgrade to a 'Suite' for the first night but this was just a not particularly big room with not enough space for 2 large suitcases. Subsequent regular room was very small. WiFi worked well in reception but non-existent elswhere. Nevertheless the hotel was very well decorated and maintained aND the segging aND grounds were idyllic. . No foreign TV, all Italian. Not sure if the 'above ground swimming pool on adjacent property was for hotel guests but looked most uninviting. The restaurant was excellent but expensive. Not terribly expansive lunch for 2 was Euros 80. Several really good restaurants nearby. Worked well for drive into Rome each day. Also the hotel has a free shuttle to Rome Metro once a day.

The good things first, lovely surroundings, piece and quiet you can rest there, helpful staff. Very bad hygiene though , during breakfast there were flies on the cheese and bread, big ones and we told them, they didn't bother to change it. It is too far from the city center and it costs a lot to move around.

We stayed there about a year ago. It was an excellent spot, very romantic and very historic. We enjoyed our stay here. PROS: Romantic, historic, wonderful grounds, great staff. CONS: You're pretty far from Rome, There's nothing in walking distance. There's only 2 options for places to eat. Wifi was spotty. There's a shuttle bus that will take you into Rome and drop you off at the foot of the Vatican. It costs 5 Euros per person, each way (we were surprised that we were charged each way on our final bill). I would recommend this place if you're looking for a romantic weekend, for instance if it's the start of your honeymoon. If you want to see Rome you're better off staying elsewhere.

This place is so lovely an quite, and after shopping in Rome all day it's nice to come back to. Reception staff was brilliant and helped us so much and because of that we enjoyed our stay and Rome even more, the bus to the local metro is good for 5 euros per person each way, although if you want to go out in the evening then you would need book a taxi which charges the travel to the hotel and then to wherever your going. Food in the restaurant is to die for and we'll priced although not much selection for lunch/dinner menu the pizza place at the bottom of the hill is lovely and cheap. The walls are so thin we could hear our next door get up in the night burp and fart and have a wee lol so that was interesting, if you want very easy access stay closer to Rome but for the peace and quite this is your place we stayed when it wasn't busy and enjoyed the peace.
