This was the worst bed we have ever slept in. Hard as a rock. The pillows where flat. The shower door only covered 1/2 of the tub and the shower head was placed in the middle of the tub not the end like normal tubs, it made it impossible to shower without getting everything wet. We checked out early and left Rome

Very good basic hotel; no real frills, but everything you need. Front desk staff very helpful; very clean, good hotel breakfast. Great location, too.

The location of the Hotel Villafranca was great! Close to Termini station and the metro system. Also, only about half an hour walk to the Colosseum and other popular attractions. At night the area was quiet and felt very safe. We arrived very early in the morning (around 1 am) and the hotel staff was very friendly and checked us in very quickly so we could get up to our room and to bed. The room was very spacious and clean. Only complaint was that the bed was very firm. Would stay here again!

Overall, a great value. Good location within 10 minute walk to train station. Decent breakfast, most of the staff was friendly and accommodating and room was clean and decent size for Europe. Anything you would want to see was accessible via a 30 minute walk or even quicker via subway or bus - both of which are located in the same train station nearby the hotel. Very happy with my choice.

For a base of operations to travel around the city it was a good location, five minite walk from the main train/subway/bus station. Lots of establishments within walking distance and even a grocery store. Beds were not very comfortable and the shower didnt drain very well. Breakfast was free and had a wide variety of choices, typically European style. Had free wi-fi for my smart phone. Staff was nice and spoke english fairly well. Room was cleaned well daily. Bathroom was tiny, and room was small as well. Air conditioning worked very well. Good for a cheap hotel.

We booked this last minute and it was wonderful. We needed a place with clean sheets and a good shower.

We needed a place to stay and get away from a crummy hostel and this saved us. Great breakfast.

We booked 1 room recently for a sat night thru [...]. The hotel is located only a 3-4 min walk from the castro pretoria metro or 10-12 min walk from termini station/metro. There are many hotels in the area + some restaurants although we never ate in the area. The staff were friendly overall. We checked luggage when room wasn't ready and came back after 2p. They have a secure room for storing luggage which they tag and give you the other half.Internet isn't free but they will let one person go behind the chk in desk to print boarding passes if you need to.The breakfast room is avg but I would suggest going early at 7 to get a table. There were meats, cheeses, sweets, cereals, fruit + juice / coffee machines. The hotel looks recently renovated as do the rooms. The room and bathroom was spacious. Bath amenities were nice and glad there was a shower curtain since the shower is basically stand alone in corner of room.2 things were an issue. First, there were hairs on the comforter. I know these generally aren't changed out but it was still gross. Second, the walls are thin. We had to call front desk late at night when the neighbors were too loud. Unfortunately the front desk didn't understand but thankfully they left out of room 20 min later.Since we were flying out of Rome, this hotel served its purpose and the price was in line with most others in area. I would stay again but only in the short term.

The hotel is conveniently located 1 block from the Metro. The room was small but well appointed and clean. Restaurants and cafes very close. Decent buffet breakfast.

We spent a night at this hotel on our way to Cortona. The staff were helpful, rooms clean and modern. The breakfast was good.
