We enjoyed our stay this was the first hotel on our Trafalgar tour, the room was clean but a bit dated, If you haven't stayed at a hotel in Italy, bring your own washcloths they usually aren't provided, Also the showers are very small usually. Also don't expect a regular american breakfast or coffee Italians don't usually eat much breakfast they have toast and coffee if anything, so the breakfast that is served is different than what we usually have.
This was our fourth and final stop we made on our tour in Europe, our travel agency Gate 1 Travel setup us in this hotel the second week in October. When checking into this hotel again booked through our travel agency Gate 1 Travel, they booked us in the smallest room with no view of anything in a twin bed. Wow, it is embarrassing every time I have to explain that our agency screwed up and this is my wife’s and my 10-year anniversary. The front desk staff immediately changed our room to a larger bed with no charge but us just wasn’t what we were looking for. Now that we have upgraded to view rooms with balcony’s in our other 3 hotels it was a must. The hotel staff gladly upgraded us and put us on the top floor with a huge balcony, wow it was wonderful and only cost 20 Euros more a night. The room was nice, and it had a wonderful large bed with great air-conditioning. We were centrally located to everything and there were many good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. We spent one of our evenings at the par downstairs and talked to the bar tender and front office managers they were all very nice people and very kind to us. The breakfast in the morning was great and had a wonderful selection to choose from.
Overall Stay was ok, although the rooms are quite small and dated, but for a holiday where you are not spending much time at the hotel it's a good basic hotel reasonably priced. Breakfast was good, service and staff where friendly. Plenty of restaurants around, including a Peruvian restaurant if you want to try something other than pizza and pasta! :)
Located within easy reach of Termini this little find was great value for money ...with some cool Italian style thrown in. The rooms were comfortable....if not a little retro. A great little place and I really enjoyed my stay!
Accommodation goals this trip: Economy and location near Termini Station where friends were staying. Both goals were achieved, but... PROS: 1. Room was cheap for Rome (under $150) 2. Not in a main busy street. Quieter 3. Mattress was firm and comfy 4. Staff were welcoming and helpful 5. Complimentary breakfast was ample 6. There were good restaurants nearby 7. Cocktail bar 8. Near train station 9. Room safe 10. Good air conditioning CONS: 1. Location a long walk to the sights in historic center 2. Room and bathroom were very small 3. Overdue for renovation. Tired decor. 4. Lack of attention to maintenance 5. Bathroom ceiling plaster damaged 6. Shower stall tiny 7. No in-room coffee or clothes iron 8.Burnt out lightbulbs not replaced 9. No complimentary pens, writing tablets 10. Rugs in room and common areas not vacuumed adequately 11. Hotel’s 4-star rating seems meaningless. I guess in this instance you get what you pay for. I would rather spend more, for more.
Our first trip to Italy, having been to Spain and Portugal. In comparison on that basis, I can only say that you can only renovate so much, and at some point you can do no more ...that is what this place felt like. Not a big room but comfy regardless. Our door did not work properly , so you needed to slam it otherwise it would not lock. Very noisy on second floor, coming from outside from the restaurants and bars, and from inside when people coming to their rooms. The toilet was wobbly at best but worked. You need a step to access the tub, and coming out can be a challenge because there is nothing to hang on to stabilize yourself. A safe is provided for free. We had no view whatsoever other than the building right across. Location is good with B line access only meters away, and Termini a few blocks away. No need for taxis since you will find everything you need around the hotel. The street would need a sweeping but that is not hotel fault. Breakfast was ok but can get crowded around 9 am.
We were here for 3 nights as part of our tour. Very nice place with a fairly complete breakfast. No complaints at all. Rooms were clean and tidy with friendly service. Close to train station, metro and tour buses. If you need lunch, go to the little bar right next door for a slice of pizza or lasagne as it was excellent. You can hear a lot of street noise with windows open but they are quite soundproof when closed
Stayed here 2 nights as part of a Trafalgar trip to Italy. Cute and charming hotel. Nice and friendly staff that goes out of their way to accommodate foreigners. Bfast is included and has just about everything to suit most people's tastes. They coffee machine (see pic) included in bfast is pretty cool! Also, they manned Coffee bar is exceptional and reasonably priced. Would stay here again!
We arrived at this hotel after an overnight flight. Tired and exhausted. We were with a Trafalgar tour and we honestly have no complaints. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had everything we needed (and I am picky) and it had a nice breakfast. Of course I needed WATER and it was my first experience that in Italy, you pay for water everywhere. I learned that fast. We had a room with a balcony and honestly I didn't feel too safe on the old balcony. The breakfast buffet was fine. It's a small hotel (a little cramped) but like I said, for one night it was fine. By the way, as Trafalgar was loading up our luggage, a stranger from outside came in and they had to escort him out. Watch your stuff!
This was our city base for three nights on a Rail Discoveries tour. The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable. Breakfast offered many options, although, at ties, the room could be very busy. We also used the bar area for pre-dinner and post-dinner drinks, but ate out in the evenings.
