The rooms are always clean, and the staff is very friendly. I love to stay here when I'm in Wilson. I am always greeted in a friendly manner. It is always quiet and I can get the rest I need. The pool is also great, indoors so no bugs YAAAY.
I had checked into the Sleep Inn (5011 Hayes Place, Wilson NC) on 6/26/2017 and checked out on 6/27/2017. Me and my boyfriend just needed a place to rest for the night. I have stayed at your facilities in other areas before and suggested to him that we stay here. As we arrived the lobby was very clean and usually that is a good indication that your facility is clean and well kept. Boy was I wrong! We walked to the back of the building where our room was and the door was just wide open and did not lock. How does that keep people out that do not belong? The hallway carpet was gross and smelt of an odor I could not describe. As we reached our room as soon as we walked again it smelt like wet moldy carpet. We tried to turn the air off since we thought it was coming from, it wasn't than we turned the fan on it smelt even worse. So much I had to spray my perfume to try and eliminate the smell. The carpet was gross and I would not let me or my boyfriend take our shoes off. The walls had splatter of blood by the air conditioning. I did not feel safe or clean for that matter. I have never had to sleep in our shoes and full clothes before. The whole hallway reaked of an odor so I was pretty sure all the rooms looked and smelt the same. I have never felt so disrespected by a hotel. The only good thing about your hotel was your overnight man named Hubert. He put a smile on our faces in the morning and greeted us. Loved talking to him. I hope he is informed of his great work.
This motel is over-priced... The amenities you receive and not worth the price of the motel. Breakfast is the very pedestrian . Shower would give you claustrophobia. Rooms are very dated. Price of the motel for a standard room is over $100.
If you enjoy being greeted by an unfriendly clerk talking to a rather large, shirtless guest at the front desk in an un-air conditioned lobby (NOTE: summertime in NC is HOT), this is your kinda place. If you desire a room that comes with someone else's socks and food wrappers PLUS a mysterious white powder under your bed, look no further. Even better, if you love to vacuum your own room at 11pm because the staff is too busy to help, then you've hit the jackpot. If it hadn't have been so late and my son hadn't fallen asleep already, we would never have stayed. We checked out the next morning and I was given a whopping $15 off the bill, but no apology. (I've contact the manger 3 times already - no luck getting a call back.)
Receptionist wasn't friendly at all. Didn't say thank you one time. Didn't say thank you for staying, have a good day, Nadda. Price too high for the room. Would have been nice if they had a cart to bring your luggage into the room.
Loved the swimming pool. The breakfast was good. The room may need some updating but was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was nice. Located in a great location off of I-95. Close to restaurants and a cheap car wash!
The room has very nice beds, great TV, nice bathroom, refrigerator. Most definitely a step above Motel 6 motels. I generally don't like to pay a lot of money for a one night hotel while traveling and this was $87 total. But I was tired and the room was surprisingly nice. Lobby was OK, nothing special. They offered a continental morning breakfast that I had to skip but it looked fine. Local and Long distance phone calls were free. There were some object left underneath the bed from previous room stays that should have been cleaned up. I don't know why maids don't check under the bed. I'd stay here again although would look for something a bit cheaper.
Picked this place out of a line-up. I was tired, didn't know how far I'd get driving down to Florida, so no advanced reservation. Desk clerk was very helpful even asking if I had an AAA or AARP card (I have both) so a discount, .Room was clean and fresh (no smellies), plenty of towels. THE PILLOWS - to die for! Nice, BIG, Plump pillows. No little thin wafers! Bed was comfortable. Had a good night sleep, nice shower (plenty of hot water and good pressure). Didn,t do the morning freebies. Not a big pastry or coffee fan. All in all - priced right and did what I wanted - a good nights sleep.
We had stayed here several times going to and from Florida. Has been a couple of years since we stayed and I feel the quality and service has gone downhill..we had requested a first floor room because of my knees ( there's no elevator). However, even though we had made a reservation over a week before, we had to stay on the second floor. Not happy!!! Also, the room did not look like it had been vacuumed properly. In addition, the male clerk who checked us in had obviously not been to charm school. We will not be returning.
This was a good choice for a quick overnight between Florida and New Jersey. It’s not perfect, but it is acceptable, inexpensive, and great access from I-95. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet when you consider a college baseball team was staying down the hall! This motel has interior corridors which always feel safer than exterior corridors. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the Internet was fast and reliable. Another plus is the indoor swimming pool and hot tub. After 12 hours on the road, we were really looking forward to the hot tub and were very disappointed when we were told it was broken so we recommend you call ahead to make sure it’s working before you get your hopes up. The breakfast bar was adequate, waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, pastries, and a strange sausage biscuit that looked like something you’d find in a gas station. It is pet friendly, so they gave us a room on the 2nd floor when we said we don’t like the odor left behind by other peoples’ pets and it was fine. A couple of negatives: 1. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. If you have long hair, you’d never rinse out the shampoo. Maybe that’s because the pressure doesn’t make it up to the 2nd floor, I don’t know. 2. There’s no elevator, so if you have trouble with steps, ask for a room on the first floor. Overall, our experience was fine, and we recommend staying here.
