We decided to stay here due to the reviews and the fact that it was slightly more than half-way on our way up to NYC. This hotel proved to be a great choice! Karen at the front desk was very welcoming -- told us if we had any problems, encountered anything good or bad, she wanted to know. Also, I was a bit greedy, but I raided the candy jar at the front desk a couple of times during our stay--the hard candies were so flavorful! We are going to call the hotel and see where they get them from--if you like hard candies, they are that good. Our room was good sized (we got a king-bed) and the breakfast was very good, as usual with the Marriotts--I think other reviews mentioned how delicious the oatmeal was, and I have to agree--not too soupy, not too thick--just right! There are other items, of course, muffins, toast, eggs, etc, but my husband stuck to cereal and toast and I stuck to the oatmeal. If you need a reasonable place to stay somewhere after a long day of driving, I recommend this place!
Great hotel for kids baseball team. The best part was the variety of healthy breakfast options. It is easy to get to baseball complex from the hotel. Prices reasonable for a Marriott property. Highly recommend.
Here we go again. Walk in to the lobby and up to the desk and guess what? There’s nobody there. Welcome the Fairfield Inn & Suites Wilson. How long would you like to wait? This is not the first time I’ve experienced this empty desk syndrome at a hotel. It gives the impression that nobody’s home. Did I come at a bad time? Okay, when should I come back? The check-in process did eventually take place and into our room we go. It’s a very nice size room and everything looks just right. This was the one hotel on this trip with adjacent room noise. Fortunately, the thin wall condition ultimately wasn’t too much of a disturbance. We also took advantage of the fitness room which was small but we were the only ones using it. It’s nice when a hotel has that option. The small indoor pool was not being used when we passed it. We don’t always eat at the complimentary breakfast but in this case we did. It was typical of what you would expect. I like to check out the oatmeal and this was fairly good. When dropping off room keys on the way out, I want to be sure the clerk acknowledges the transaction. Oops, nobody there at the desk. The wait this time was minimal and out we go. Obviously, this was not the Waldorf Astoria. Somebody would be at the front desk.
Friendly, efficient front desk. The room was clean and comfortable. Microwave, refrigerator and free Wi-Fi in room. Clean, well-stocked breakfast with the usual items. Lots of fast food restaurants nearby and a good supermarket (Harris Teeter) about 3 miles away.
I had a very confortable time during my stay at this hotel. The beds are really and the rooms are clean spacious and organized. The free breakfast was really good with eggs, sausage, breads, cereals, tea, coffee, and fruits. I like the variety of the breakfast and the area was spacious with T.V.s. My check in process was fairly quick and the hotel was well located with nearby restaurants and gas stations.
We wanted a place to stay close to I95, this Fairfield Inn fit the bill. I had just had foot surgery and asked for a handicapped accessible room. The room we were give was perfect in every way--fit my needs, spacious and clean. Without going into great detail the breakfast was just serviceable. We have stayed in other places with the same buffet and we did not expect a gourmet selection. However, the OJ tasted like an orange flavored mix, the cut fruit was water logged and the bagel tasted odd. Did we starve? No. We found enough to suit us and honestly were not looking for a huge breakfast. All of that being said, I would certainly not rule out staying here again. The chain is a good one.
Wonderful place to stay for a night. Very clean and very friendly. Has free breakfast which is good. Easy on easy off 95. Walking distance to restaurants. Plus a very quite hotel. Also gas stations near by.
As other reviewers mentioned, the location is very convenient to I-95. We were welcomed by Caren who did a quick check in. We changed our minds about room location and she accommodated our request with a smile. There were warm cookies at the reception. You can't go wrong with that. Our room was clean and had a good size. The small refrigerator was a bit noisy. The shower was great and I have no complaints about the bed. In the morning, even though we were late for breakfast, we were still able to eat. Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the lady working in the breakfast. Not only she didn't rush us, she made us feel welcome. I defy recommend this place.
We loved the service, breakfast and the room was great except for air conditioner/fan was way too loud and annoying when it comes on. Otherwise, the hotel was in a good location, easily accessible to freeway, convenient and the staff very friendly. There are multiple places to eat within walking distance of the hotel, which was nice since we didn't get off the road till 9 p.m. and places where still open for dinner.
I stayed one night at the Wilson Fairfield Inn and suites this memorial day weekend. I was not impressed. The staff was very nice, but the rooms were less than expected for what I was paying. The walls are quite thin, I had room 124, and I could hear everyone on either side of me and those walking through the hall. In addition there was a chirping bird all night Long by my window, and I was unable to sleep. Further, the bed was not very comfortable, and the AC was quite loud, unfortunately not loud enough to drown out the chirping bird from outside. You know Fairfield suites has a 100% satisfaction guarantee; but they don't abide by it. After completing Marriotts survey that they sent me after my stay, I immediately got a letter from a customer service representative offering me 5000 bonus points on my Marriott account. I had explained to her that I wanted the refund of the $172 that I paid for the one night, and she told me that they will not give that to me. There are five or six major chain hotels in the immediate area of Wilson, exit 121 on route 95. Although I am an elite member with MARRIOTT, after this experience, I will not stay there, and I suggest you shop around before staying there as well.
