We had such a good time at this resort. From the minute we showed up, everyone was super friendly and helpful. Check‑in was quick, and we were at the pool with a drink in our hands before we knew it. The room was clean and comfy—nothing to complain about. Housekeeping kept everything tidy, and we always had fresh towels, which was awesome after long days in the sun. The food was solid. Tons of options, and we never went hungry. The buffets had a bit of everything, and the à la carte restaurants were a nice change when we wanted something different. Drinks were great too—bartenders knew what they were doing and kept the good vibes going. There was always something to do: pool games, beach time, nightly entertainment, or just chilling. You could be as active or lazy as you wanted, which we loved. The whole place was clean and well taken care of. The pools were great, the beach was beautiful, and the grounds were always spotless. Overall, we had an amazing, no‑stress vacation. Great staff, good food, lots to do, and a super relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

Staff was very friendly, the food was decent, rooms were clean. Had some issues with follow through on room request with mini bar. We had the privilege package and I think they could use more servers on the beach and more butler’s for coordinating dinners and events

My girlfriend and I stayed at this resort for seven days and, it was absolutely stunning. It went above both our expectations. The staff was extremely friendly they would always greet you or ask if you needed anything brought to your room (towels, fresh sheets, water bottles etc) the restaurant on the resort were all fantastic. The rooms were always very clean and smelled fresh, the staff was always managing the beach area and removing any seaweed that washed up. The resort itself was very clean and welcoming we highly recommend this resort and we’ve already booked our next stay with them. If you are looking for a fantastic resort this is the place, from the view to the food and the staff I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Hotel was a little dated but food was decent and service was good. We had sent a message to the hotel a few days before checking that we will have 4 and not 5 people checking in. They charged us for 5 and mentioned that reservations department will refund the balance once they talk to Expedia. Expedia mentioned to us that they refuse to refund the balance because of their policy.. the whole system seems designed to screw the guest as much as possible without them finding out..

The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The room was clean and had a nice large balcony. All of the food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. This was likely due to our rooms proximity to the main building, but very loud music played past midnight every night making it difficult to sleep. All in all, we had a really wonderful time and highly recommend staying at Ocean Maya Royale.

Room: Very clean. Our room gets cleaned and tidied everyday. I didn't get their names but we are in room 2601. Staff: Amazing! Viri from daily activities, amazing. Antonio from pool bar, amazing! Would be nice to have a better nightly entertainment. Pool: would be nice to have a hot tub. It was a great experience overall!! I have no regrets booking this place. Although you may want to reconsider the free tours you offer your guests. We were forgotten, claiming the driver had a minor accident. Although when we complained to the driver of another group, miraculously our pick up was just 5 minutes away. We waited for more than an hour for our ride back to the hotel.

I have to say that this hotel goes out of their way to make sure you have an amazing time & experience. We spent 10 days there & didn’t really know what to expect but we were very happy just after one day there. What made our vacation so special is the entertainment team the way they go out of their way to make sure you’re participating with all the events, a very special thank you to Gustavo my brother we became best friends after the first day much love to everyone Victor,Maryanne,Sussi,the hotel is taking care of by the staff altogether & the food at this resort is really good & always fresh. Overall I give this place 10 on 10. A special thank you to Esther in the buffet she took very good care of & thank you to Rodrigue for all the food for also taking care of us.

I stayed at Maya Royale Dec 30 - Jan 5. I have a great experience and would go back and recommend it to anyone without issues. I had some reservations prior to going there, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The buffet was great, good diversity and each day had a different theme so you didn't eat the same thing every day. The NYE dinner at the buffet (you have the option to pay and have a fixed menu at one of the restaurants) was impressive: lobster tail, pecking duck, crab legs, foie-gras ... kudos to the chef (and pastry chef). Drinks were good (not watered down) and staff friendly. We went to the French restaurant and the food was amazing (especially the short rib). Overall, it was a great experience. Pros: - good food (and variety) / drinks - compliments to the chefs/pastry chefs - friendly and helpful staff - activities throughout the day - clean property / pool Cons: - water (beach) is not cleaned from seaweed (fortunately was not too bad) - NYE show - the first part was too long with some variety shows that dragged on too long. Just make those much shorter so people can get up and dance. ½ hour prior to new year of dancing is not enough; and can get chilly at night so seating for 2+ hours is not good.
