The room was a little outdated but that didnt bother us since we mostly spent time outside on the beach or doing activities. Ocean Maya Royale has a great sandy beach without any rocks so that was great. There are plenty of activities to do (tequila tasting, wine tasting, bracelet making, games in the pool, coffee making, karaoke in the evening, guessing songs trivia and more). Huge shout out to hard working staff Viri, Gustavo, Pillar, Augustin at Mike's coffee place. Highly recommend coffee at Mike's coffee. Watch out for mosquitoes at open restaurants in the evening like Dolce Vita and El Charro. Otherwise, great stay and great staff. Thank you everyone that made our vacation great.

I had an amazing stay at Ocean Maya Royale! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The resort is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with a relaxing adults-only atmosphere that made it the perfect getaway. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was delicious with plenty of variety, and the beach and pools were absolutely stunning. The experience team is honestly what made my week at this resort so memorable! Everyone was so nice and fun, and they made sure to remember your name and check in. Especially Kendell, He was the life of the party and so kind! Viri was another staff member I became close to, she was so sweet! Alejandro, Victor, Gustavo, Marian, Susi, and Moises were also very helpful and social with the visitors, making sure everything was okay and would encourage you to participate in fun activities! The whole team did good at communicating with everyone, encouraging participation while becoming your friend. This was my first time at this resort, and I would return! The resort is smaller than my usual go tos, but I enjoyed everything being closer. One suggestion I do have for the resort in general, is that it would have been convenient to have a drying rack in the room to dry our wet/damp clothes from the day. That way we don’t have to leave it outside, since it did rain a good amount for us, or have clothes everywhere in our room.

It was great overall, the only “issues” I had were the following: Food could’ve been a little better, lots of it was bland The sheets weren’t changed for our room for the last couple of days of our stay. Even though we asked for them to be changed the cleaners would just flip the sheets around instead. Other than that absolutely everything was perfect.

Everything about this resort and our stay was stellar. No complaints. Exceptional service by Alfredo, Margarita, Juan and Edith especially . Staff and guests so friendly. Food at buffet bit hit and miss but overall good. We had the Privilege package and i highly recommend. Felt really spoiled. One negative was the chair saving at pool and beach. Difficult to get decent spot unless you get there by 5 or 6am to stake your spot with your towel Overall we loved our stay and will be back!

This was our third time at this resort. Facilities and food seem to be going downhill slightly. They added air conditioning to the lobby area about half way through our stay and it ran constantly, making the lobby bar too cold to sit at and socialize in the evening. We have been to resorts in Mexico at least 30 times and always had open air lobbies which we enjoyed. I'm not sure why they felt it was necessary to make it so cold that guests could not enjoy the lobby. We complained several times but nothing was done to adjust the temperature. The activities and entertainment were also not up to par with what we experienced at previous visits to the resort. On the plus side, our room was nice, and they do have a decent beach with plenty of both sunny and shady spots to enjoy.

Overall the property is well kept, very clean. Room was good except that we had a very bad experience due to no running water for almost a full 24 hours in a couple of rooms from our group. No one called to notify us of what was happening or keep us updated. We had to keep calling to find out what was going on and even then we didn't get much information. Not enough dining options. We also had an issue with getting a table for all of us at the restaurants. It seemed like a huge inconvenience to get a table for the group. We did have a larger group of 14 so I kind of understand for the sit down restaurants but at the buffet? All other places i've ever been to are more than happy to put some tables together at the buffet. Not here. The rest of the service was hit or miss for the most part. Some people went above and beyond while others were downright rude. The exception would be the activities team. They all did a fabulous job and are the reason I rated a bit higher. Shout out to Kendall who was always friendly and upbeat and kept everyone engaged. Also would like to recognize our poolside waiter; Andres who was awesome!

Ocean Maya is excellent value...food is excellent and varied, drinks are consistent and decent name brands are available in all the various liquor types, staff are professional and friendly, loungers are comparatively easy to obtain and the beach was very acceptable.
