Spent two nights at Hotel Fron for a stopover in Iceland on our way home from Europe.

Exciting time in Reykjavik during the return of the National Football team. Hotel was ideally located for shopping, eating and touring old and new Reykjavik. Would recommend a minimum of three nights to enjoy a small part of Iceland.

Good basic hotel with nice continental breakfast. Right next to various shops and restaurants, so the down side is the street noise. Could be improved with better window insulation/noise reduction technique for the ground floor rooms.

On Main drag, convenient to everything downtown. Front desk very service oriented. Free continental breakfast was very good. Might suggest you not get a room on the street side on weekends since the summer sun never sets and noise might be a bit bothersome. We were in the back and it was very quiet.

Spacious, clean room, including a cooktop, sink, and microwave, which are very convenient given Reykjavik's food prices. The room I stayed in (201) faced an exterior hallway used by other rooms and had very little light or privacy, but I can't complain since the hotel let me check in at 8 a.m. and get some much-needed sleep after an overnight flight. Plus, I wasn't in the room other than to cook and sleep anyway, and the dark room ended up helping with the 22 hours of sun! Adequate breakfast (cold food only), and good wifi. Average finishes, nothing luxurious. Hotel staff helpful with directions, tours, etc. Would stay again.

Very good location, even my room was in the street side it was very quiet. Breakfast was decent, I had an early check out on the next day and the hotel can also provide me the early bird breakfast at 4 AM. The restaurant next to the hotel is also good. The bed is comfortable and has everything I need. Friendly people there, can let me borrow a tea maker in my room. Very reasonable price for me and I am happy to stay again if I travel to Iceland next time.

Hotel Fron is located on Laugavegur, which is the main boulevard in the Reykjavik city center. Excellent spot near all the restaurants, shops and coffee houses!

Biggest advantage is the location - right on the main street in Reykjavik near bars and restaurants. Just be aware of the potential for noise on weekends - Icelanders like to party well into the early morning hours and it could be a problem if you are a light sleeper

Loved the hotel, especially its location. Would stay there again!

can'ttell you much since they had a water problem in our room and transfered us to a nicer hotel.

Purchased Fly Bus pass directly from the Reykjavik airport which was approx $40 round trip. This bus took us to Reykjavik Excursions where we took another, smaller bus to straight to hotel. Buses were clean and comfortable. Arrived to Hotel Fron at approx 0800 and we were able to leave our luggage in downstairs luggage room until we were able to check in. Our rooms were cleaned very quickly. There was a mix up with the rooms and I was placed in an apartment with 3 beds and it was just me. Worked out great for me. The white building (apartments) does not have an elevator to bring your luggage up. The blue building (one bedroom rooms) did have an elevator. Breakfast is not available on day you check in. Staff was rather friendly. Breakfast consisted of rather traditional foods: multiple breads (including yummy rye bread), boiled eggs, sliced cheese and meats, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, cereals (corn flakes, cheerios and granola), milk, yogurt, marmalades/jellies, and coffee and juices. The earlier to breakfast, the better (available from 6:30-9:30). Closer to 9:30 the crazier the small restaurant got. Hotel Fron was located right in City Center and was very close to just about everything. We did the Northern Light tour, Laxnes Horse Riding and Golden Circle tour and I did the Blue Lagoon. Each tour picked you up directly from the hotel. Drop offs weren't necessarily right in front of hotel, but in close proximity. Pick up was pretty prompt, so be down about 20 minutes prior to pick up. Our flight left at 4:40 pm and we took the 2 pm bus and felt it was kind of close on the way back. Multiple pamphlets and tours available for purchase right at front desk. While I was at Hotel Fron, there was construction being done on the white building. It started about 7:30 every morning. This didn't bother me because I was up early anyway. However, I could see how it could be an incredible nuisance. Check out was a breeze at 11:00 am. They let us keep our bags in luggage room until bus picked us up at 2. My apartment came with a full kitchen with microwave and fridge (beers, wines and chips available for purchase), nice dining area with tv, and two bedrooms with 3 beds. One bathroom to be shared. There was a European type all in one washing machine, which I had no clue how to use. I don't think it dries your clothes. There was an iron available. They provided small shampoos (no conditioner) and body bar soaps. Shower was good size and water pressure was amazing. I wouldn't bring shampoo next time and just bring conditioner. Blow dryer available too. I would absolutely stay again in this hotel. It was great!

Paid for superior room but was shocked getting tIny room with 2 twin beds right on top of each other pushed together like a double bed with no room to separate. Smelled funny, towel rack hanging off the wall, light doesn't work, old blinds, old furniture, etc., etc. Location is good, and the hotel hostess was very nice/helpful, but there are way better properties for this price.

Great location on the main street in Reykjavik, close to everything in town. Friendly and courteous staff, who helped us plan our tours outside the city. Rooms were nice enough for a long weekend, though my wife and I would've loved a queen-sized bed instead of 2 twins. We experienced flooding in our first-floor room after a night of very heavy rain, and without having to ask, we were upgraded to a studio on a higher floor for the remainder of our stay.

Had a great time at the Fron! The location was a highlight. The hotel is situated on the main street, and is within a 10 minute walk from restaurants and tour pickups. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here!

Overall my experience was good. The room was a little dingy with cracks in the walls and mold in some corners, but otherwise it wasn't bad. I stayed one night and was comfortable. The hotel staff were excellent. Very helpful and knowledgeable. They were generous with their assistance and made me feel welcome there.

Great location on the main shopping street. Close to many good restaurants. Overall a very good experience. Breakfast provided was verry good. Staff was very helpful.

Excellent location near shops, restaurants, and attractions. Rooms are clean and very functional, if not fancy or luxurious. Those on the side facing the main street - Lauavegur - can be noisy at night.

Overall this hotel was wonderful because of it's amazing location right in the center of Reykjavik. Easy walking distance to all spots in town. Nice, clean accommodations. Quiet at night despite late night partying nearby at bars and clubs. Overall very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again next time.

Staff were very helpful and room was cleaned well daily. Free Wifi worked well. The only enhancement that would have made a significant difference would have been to have a double bed instead of two singles pushed together. There was also a very good breakfast with lots of healthy choices.

Very nice hotel and staff. Having a double bed instead of two singles pushed together would have been much more comfortable. Breakfast was good with healthy choices.
