Your typical hotel located in a nice and quiet area but very average. Our hotel room was clean and the management is great! We got an early check-in and the hotel is just a 10-15 minute walk away to the bar and restaurant area. There is a supermarket in walking distance where we stocked up on our snacks and juice boxes for our week drive on the south coast.
Based on the lower rate compared to other hotels, I can't complain. The check-in and check-out processes were fast. The room and bathroom were clean. It is a little cramp, which I didn't mind but I wished there was a small table and chair to do some work. Alternatively, you could use the dining area, I suppose, if you really need to sit down to do stuff on your laptop. While my sleep quality was fine, I could hear noises from my neighbor's bathroom and snoring from another neighbor when I had the window opened. At first I thought that the sink and shower drain needed a thorough clean because of a smell, but I learned that it's due to the water. So nothing to worry about there. The breakfast was ok - 2 types of yogurt, cereals, fruits and nuts, coffee, tea, cheeses, bread, pastries, jams and cold cuts. Rather basic but it's plentiful to get your day going. I also liked their complimentary coffee/tea at all times. It is located away from downtown so it's relatively quiet. There are a couple of grocery stores nearby and the walk to downtown took me 15-20 minutes. If you rent a car, there's parking outside.
I rate hotels based on what I paid for them and what I thought the value would be. for example in this review if I had paid $300 it would not receive a excellent review. We stayed here one night for $105 which included a private bathroom. The staff was very friendly and accomidating. There was a kitchen that you could cook and use dishes. The room itself was very basic. No tv, alarm clock etc. The room itslef is small but that seems to be the way they do it in Iceland. Small bathroom and small shower. the room was very clean. I need to mention curtains as in Iceland in the summer it's light out 24 hours a day. The curtains were decent but did let some light in on the side. Overall I recommend this hotel as it's a mile away from all the night life.
Nice location, good parking, friendly staff. The room was small but perfectly adequate. The elevator was being repaired so we received a room on the ground floor. There is a coffee maker available at all times. The kitchen is large and serviceable. An added bonus, the halls are a veritable art gallery, including pieces by the muralist represented at the Reykjavik Airport. $150/night pretty reasonable by Iceland standards.
We stayed for two nights here. The room and bathroom was very tight for space but we were still comfortable. The staff were very comfortable and willing to help. There is a lounge area (where we brought our takeaway dinner) and a kitchen. There are also free tea and coffee facilities around. Street parking is free along the hotel line on the road. Note the hotel isn’t in the heart of the city, but great if you have a car so can get around.
We loved out stay at Brim Hotel. The location was only a short drive to the main downtown areas and there is parking in front of the property. We called a few hours before check in and we were able to check in a few hours early which was great as we landed in Iceland early that morning. We even got a free room upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. The room was clean and modern with very comfortable beds. It is also very quiet. They have a free espresso machine which we really enjoyed. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brim Hotel and recommend staying here.
We have not been able to stay at this hotel due to unfortunately family matters. The hotel (Kinga helped us) was very understanding and friendly. They did not hesitated to compensate us. Proves to me that the staff and hotel gives an outstanding service and that you are dealing with people and not a corporate. So I have not stayed here but service wise I would definitely recommend them!
We stayed in double room with private bathroom, which was great. Room was nice and clean, staff very friendly and there is a kitchen you can use which is very handy. Really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you
Came on solo trip, room was clean, bed is comfortable, also had a private bathroom. Located just minutes walking distance to stores and restaurants, would definitely stay again! The front desk is extremely helpful and friendly.
Four nights spent here in a decent location 20 minutes walk to edge of downtown area. Staff very friedly and helpful. Nice and quiet as well. Rooms are a bit small, but so what as you would pay double elsewhere. Breakfast a bit basic, but come out of the front door turn left and just over the road is a fantastic bakery. Overall it`s a clean tidy hotel and if I went back I would stay there again.
