The place was quite pleasant. Nice and clean. There isn’t a front desk or daily housekeeping, but that was fine for us. They send you a code to get into the building and your room. Very easy. Location is close to a couple grocery stores and there’s a fridge in the room. My only complaint is the parking. It’s not totally clear which spots are free. Even with the video provided. There are some P2 paid parking spots near the Bonus if you don’t want to gamble. P2 is the cheaper option.

Clean, simple, comfortable rooms - perfect if you are on the go traveler and just want a clean quiet place to sleep. About 10 minutes walk to the main activity area of town - straight down the street. Right by a grocery store and a healthy restaurant called Loving Hut. I was hesitant about not having a live front desk but they respond to emails super fast and the codes worked great. I didn't try the attached restaurant. Note: if you have trouble finding on google maps it was called 22 Hill before.

Checkin was done without staff, all instructions were in the reservation email, and no issues with that. The luggage storage room in the lobby was very useful. Parking was a bit troublesome, as it is shared with many other businesses nearby. There was a building under construction just across the alley that was loud and had lots of workers in view of our room from early in the morning until late in the afternoon. Not alot can be done about that, but worth mentioning, as we felt we couldn't have the windows open at all. Room is clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable.

This was a very nice hotel with contactless check in. Very comfortable with free parking. Also a great restaurant downstairs that we would highly recommend. We arrived late — about 9 pm due to delayed flight. The chef was just leaving when we got there and closing the kitchen. However, he stayed for us and made us a delicious dinner!

Nice looking hotel

The room is recently renovated, clean and comfortable. We did have a problem with our code working when we first arrived but we called the phone number (as there is no front desk) and it was resolved. We saw other people having this same issue so it was not a one time issue. Also the TV is very large but it doesn’t get any stations and isn’t a smart tv so it cannot be used at all. Parking was a little bit of an issue as well but we were able to find some free parking across the street from the hotel.

No staff is involved with checkin. Everything is done by an access code. It makes it quick and convenient, however, impossible to ask questions directly and verify things. I was under the impression that breakfast was included (as all signs just gave the hours) to only realize, when I showed up at the restaurant in the morning, that for me it was not.

Easy self check in, good communication, prompt replies, very clean, lovely room. There is construction right across the street so it was noisy when window was open, but the construction stops at 5 pm and all is well. Alva hotel is close to everything so a good location. The location and accommodations are fair. There is ample free street parking in the vicinity. The hotel has no reception staff - it's mostly automated using codes for building entry, room access, and breakfast (to show if you've already paid). The breakfast staff person during our stay was abrasive, and made breakfast uncomfortable. Each morning, you were interrogated as to if you had breakfast included in your reservation, even though there is an entry protocol (first, you type in your code and if you have breakfast included, the turnstile shows a green approval light; and second, you provide your room number at the entrance of the restaurant, written on a piece of paper). On our last day, the staff person harassed us, claiming that we didn't have breakfast included even though we did. We had already typed in the code as was protocol and it showed a green approval light, and despite this, she made a speakerphone call with a hotel representative in the restaurant. I offered to show her my reservation information several times and she refused to look at it. I had to join the phone call, and the representative confirmed that we did in fact have breakfast included. It was unnecessarily contentious and a poor experience for our last day. Added to this, breakfast was missing many items, so we got little for what we had paid. Overall, we had a fine stay, but I wouldn't stay here again.
