This was our 7th time vacationing in DR. My family and I fell in love with the ppl of DR on our very 1st time. This was our 2nd worst experience in DR. 1st worst time was also a Be Live but located in Puerta Plata. This hotel chain is not even worth 1 single star. All the employees are so miserable and so disrespectful. The hotel is so disorganized. We stayed a wk and we went into only 1 employee that had a smile for us and actually happy to see us. We don't usually expect too much with the food at resorts but this hotel served the same boring food day after day after day after day. I did have the best laugh with the manager of the VIP section. He was trying to get us to join the VIP membership and we told him that it was our 2nd time staying at a Be Live and both times we are not happy with the service of the hotel. The manager told me that we get what we paid for. So does this mean that during staff meetings, the employees are told not to smile and be nice to the guests because we didn't pay enough for our trip? He gave me the best laugh.

RESORT was three stars. Rooms need a some updating I E. paint new lamp shade covers

Facilities are nice and staff is polite and service oriented. But there are a couple of things I didn't like: - I paid for a premium room, I received the same standard one, located in a 3rd floor with no elevator - In the premium package I had access to a "premium-drinks" bar... but no premium drinks there... the best rum available costs like $20 a bottle in the local supermarket - Bathroom only had 2 large and 2 small towels, given that this is a beach hotel, it is expected to have more than 1 shower a day which not confortable with that limited amount of towels - Every adult guest is entitled to receive a beach towel (the blue one), but it is required to return them to the towel kiosk by 6pm... but the sun sets at 6:50pm, and it is not nice to have to rush to return the towel before the deadline while you are still enjoying the beach or the pool - Beach and pool bars only open at 10am... if you want a drink (including sodas and water) before that you need to walk half mille to the central bar to get one, makes no sense - Theater opens at 9pm aprox, there is a funny show happening there, but... the theater bar was closed... I had to exit the theater area, go to the main bar to get drinks - Last but not least... Women's accessories SELLERS are located all across the hotel, these guys are annoying. I just wanted to relax and have a good time with family, but my peace was interrupted by them over and over to be asked where I was born and if I wanted to buy somethin

The hotel was okay, kinda old and the layout was very confusing . Food was basic , drinks were basic. I would probably never go back to this hotel or this part of the island.

We do not like very much our room. It was not clean when we arrive, and there was a bad odor in the bathroom and in the bed. The towers were not White.

Overall good holiday, superb beach, nice garden, good pool, good food and beverages, great location. Mostly friendly staff, especially at the restaurants, while some conflict and fight to get every day the right number of towels. Sheets were not replaced for some 4 days and took a challenge to let them changed. I just do not understand why these basics could not work automatically. Otherwise I could give higher overall experience grade and could recommend the place, as 'value for money'.

This resort is nothing special. Some staff members work hard to please, others not so much. Food was plentiful but mediocre, pool never seemed clean, room (building 15) was very spartan. On the other hand, the beach was beautiful with an artificial reef right off shore that was teeming with life! Rocky beach did not bother us but it may be a good idea to bring water shoes. AC always worked, drinks were OK, and entertainment was typical for D. R. We enjoyed ourselves but probably won't be going back to BeLive Canoa

Even if only for a couple of days I enjoyed one of the best room, just built but with some problem: the tub was leaking water all over the floor and the smell of humidity and mold was very strong, plus i don't understand how I can recharge my phone and camera if when I take the key with me all electricity goes off stopping fridge and ac. the rest of the place is perfect and clean. the real problem is that the place was almost empty, probably for the low season, but the operating hour of the bars and restaurants all over the structure are very short. even at the pool open only 7 am to 7 pm a security guard remember us not really gently that the pool was closing in few minutes and we have to leave. buffets looks empty, food was boring and very low quality. restaurants has a wine selection super short and of a terrible quality. also at the restaurant food is terrible and without fantasy. Special mention goes to the ham and cheese sushi maki. all the bar, at the pool, at entrance, at the theatre, on the beach have only one local beer, few imported liquors and only extra low price bottles, the bar looks empty, there'is nothing on the shelves and you really have to wait long time for your drinks, not for the long line but because they don't seems very organized: even the faster bartender can't serve people waiting on the two sides of a mirror bar half in the water side at a lower level and half at the upper level on the pool side. with the same waiter serving us from the first dinner to the last breakfast trough the snack bar and lunch buffet (he probably worked 14 hours a day) the global impression is that the place is just open and completely disorganized, and the crew is not able to front the requests of the guests. The structure itself is great, can be compared with the best jamaican resort that I visited in Negril, but the service is very low level.

VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT FOOD, KIND EMPLOYES, GOOD SERVICE. WE LIKED EVERY THING, EXCEPT THE DISCO, IT WAS OPEN AND ALMOST UNCOVERED, IT WAS A VERY NICE STAYED.

It's a nice hotel, great pool area and great resturants. Resturants require reservations so make sure to get up early (7am) to make them. The staff is friendly, and the drinks are not watered down. The room I stayed in was average/ok. Beach has a lot of rocks and would recommend water shoes. Nothing exceptional about this place but it wasn't bad either.

This hotel was ok and quality for the money spent. However, many acitivies were geared only towards certain cultures, didn't have times posted on them, not translated to different languages, or started very late. That was very disappointing and frustrating.

It was ok for the price we paid. Nothing spectacular except the beach and the water. The food was just ok. The rooms definately need updating. Our bed sagged in the middle, the dresser drawers were all broken. Our room did not smell but the other family we were traveling with room smelled very musty. There was only one bar that made frozeb pina colada's all the others it was unfrozen. Not very many people spoke english.

It was amazing but make sure you walk with your money every where you go do not leave it in your room.

This hotel was amazing! Overall very nice people! I highly recommend this hotel in Bayahibe. The grounds and the pool were always clean. The beach is perfect. The food in all the restaurants was delicious, varied and without fault. From Brazilian Steakhouse night to Japanese, I enjoyed it all!

mi estadia en el hotel fue super buena. Las actividades que ofrece el hotel son muy buenas.

Me and my fiancé spent a week at Be Live Canoa. She loved it so much, she wants our wedding to be there. I think that says a lot about the hotel, the staff, and amenities. I definitely recommend staying here. I love the way the property is arranged. Although there were hundreds of guests, we always felt we had privacy.

Been going to this hotel 12 years in a row, sometimes 2 to 3 times in a year!!! THE BEACH is super , the water is usually calm and crystal clear!! The STAFF at this hotel is the BEST, CAREY in animation does an excellent JOB!!! All the staff are SUPER NICE!! This time we had after effects of hurricane SANDY, about a 2 days of rain, But the other 16 days were perfect, no rain and very little humidity!!! V.I.P. shuttle was excellent, on time called the room before checkout, new van, excellent drivers, on time, and HECTOR is a great REP. will be going back soon, to BE LIVE CANOA probably in april, THIS PLACE is so FRIENDLY Robert & Maria

Overall, not the best food. But the resort itself is gorgeous- great pools and beach. Oh and the air conditioner in the room BARELY worked...

My trip was awesome . Loved the hotel, staff and food was superbe... The only complaint was the AC in my room wasn't cool enough. Beach was magnific, entertainment on top! I would definitely go back!!

We were looking for a cheap, sunny beach vacation that didn't require much planning and I think we got what we paid for. The beach was beautiful, as were the grounds, and the room was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly (although they don't speak much English) and the drinks were plentiful. The downsides for us were the quality of food (edible but not very good) and the fact that there was loud music playing at the pool/beach throughout the day, in addition to obnoxiously loud activity leaders trying to get people to play games and do activities on the beach, when we just wanted to sit in peace and relax.
