We loved everything about this hotel amazing location friendly and helpful staff in te heart of the romantic zone

Staff was very nice and accomidating. No pool in site but hey you got the beach. Love the layback feel at the Hotel. Rooms could use should upgrading. Bathroom old and small

I was on level 2 facing the street (not the ocean view) and it was noisy due to car traffic, foot traffic, garbage nights with the garbage truck and of course people shouting as they are partying and getting from point A to B. No safe to protect belongings in room (but something was available within the hotel I'm told) and no refrigerator in room. When first arriving the room did smell musty so I ran the Air Conditioning most of the time which helped. Whirlpool on top level was not usable. Great water pressure for showers.

Great location close to everything and right on the beach.

I loved this hotel. They let me leave my Med size suitcase, while I went to Yelapa for two days. I checked in for only one night in my return. Claudia was really nice. She speaks English, and totally helped this older lady out. Great room, nice bed, shower etc. not too noisy. I loved my salmon ravioli half portion dinner at the fancy beach front La Palapa right outside. Great place, even my non beach ftont-discount room was very good!!

We had a Jr. Suite. The street noise is really loud. Great location. OK rooms. Great staff.

They keep their prices reasonable despite being right on the beach and the staff is genuinely friend. The building is a bit older but they keep it very clean in light of the fact that a little age on a place adds both charm and some pots here and there that just are not going to move. I adore the outdoor kitchens, the only of which I'm aware in Puerto Vallarta. It cools down here at night, making it a perfect place to keep, The beds and cooling are very comfortable. Best of all, the staff is always and immediately available from wi-fi to towels and soap. I could spend more on a more luxurious place, but this place is unique and has a special place in my heart and think it might earn one in yours, too.

The staff was great & it's super convenient for the beach, shopping and restaurants.

This was our second year at Emperador and we will be back. The friendly, professional staff made us feel at home and were helpful with suggestions and arranging cabs even during very busy times. The view from our room on the 4th floor was absolutely stunning! Keep in mind that this hotel is in the heart of the action in Zona Romantica. The area is lively and loud, pretty much all the time. This is not the fault of the hotel and there's nothing they could do to change it! So if you're looking for quiet nights, this area of town is probably not for you.

Restaurant & bar at beach level and walking distance to dozens of other dining & drinking spots. All types of services minutes away. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. The hotel and rooms are clean and the rooms on the beach side have a great view. The hotel is neither modern nor 5 stars by some standards, but for the location - it is my choice to stay for several years. If you want an all inclusive, floor tiles that match, or the occasional leaky faucet... Keep looking. If you drop the attitude and want a great easy stay, book a room now!

This was a true Mexican type hotel, and experience. The staff was outstanding. I will go back.

This place is nothing like it is pictured. The rooms are so old and dingy. The stove and refrigerator were completely rusted through. We had a street entrance that had to have a locked/barred door. Not safe or habitable. Ian was nice at check in but became rude and then flat out lied to the orbitz customer service when pressed for a refund. He said we just left when we were on the phone for two hours trying to resolve the issues through orbitz while my family sat in this squalid room. No one at the hotel would answer the phone when orbitz customer service would try to call. Constant back and forth for a week to get a refund and they still charged us a penalty of one days price :( rust everywhere and dead cockroaches too.

The front staff were great. We had leaking problems with our shower and had several days which clean towels were not left in the room after cleaning. The bed wasn't the most comfortable in this room and the kitchenette while cute had rusted out cookware.

close to downtown restaurants right on the beach great weather friendly people very safe great staff at this hotel clean rooms

The ocean view suite on the 4th floor is amazing! Goregous views of the ocean and the pier. The hotel is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The wifi is a little sketchy the farther away from the lobby you are. The bathrooms are extremely small and so is the room however the balcony with a full kitchen was great! You are able to walk downstairs from the lobby through Si Senor's restaurant to the beach which is very convenient.

Very good location right on the beach and in the Romantic Zone. AC was excellent and bathroom good. Only complaint was the number of dead roaches I found each morning - a total of five in five days!!!

Nice location. No cups or bottle water for drinking. No coffee in the lobby.Ocean view rooms are great. Would not stay on the street side because of the noise of cars and people all hours of the night.. street room was a full size bed with only a sheet for a coverWe only stayed one night.

After a nightmare accommodation disaster, I needed a room for 2 nights at the start of my trip and choose the Emperador. Overall, it's a great value for what you get-a very clean and spacious room with an ocean view in the heart of old town. I'm attaching a few photos of room and view. For a little more I chose an ocean view with balcony and it was great. Lots of space, clean, not fussy, amazing view, and the location cannot be beat. Building does have an elevator, which is nice if you're on the 4th floor as I was. Few cons as well, but nothing that would stop me from staying again. Internet-let's just say it's non-existent. Supposedly have routers on each floor, but even though it showed a signal, you could ONLY get internet in the lobby. Asked about it, they said it should work, but it doesn't. Real bummer, and it affected others as well, as there were always 3-4 people in lobby using iPads or laptops to get internet. Bathroom is small, almost cramped, but clean. Shower was HOT & lots of pressure. There is a rooftop deck with loungers (could use new cushions) and what was once a functioning hot tub, but it's no longer useable. However the deck is clean, nice and lots of chairs if you don't want to do the beach. As I said, there are way more pros than cons for me. I'd absolutely stay here again. It was a great spot, especially for the price, super clean, and such a perfect location. The wifi needs improved, it's not ok to advertise it & not be able to use it.

This is my favorite hotel in PV and continue to stay there time after time!

Staff is very helpful. Room was very noisy and they are very low key with all showers and even mold in some areas of the bathroom. for a short stay probably ok. If you get a ocean view room probably is much better.
