I never really "got" all-inclusive resorts until now but I'd come back here every year. Every meal was fantastic, the staff was friendly, the location was great, and the view from the beach club was amazing. Just to clarify one thing: the hotel is not on the beach, but they own land on the beach a block away. It has its own restaurant and pool and there is a free shuttle van between it and the hotel (though it's only a ten-minute walk).

The hotel offered a nice opportunity to relax and recharge. The restaurant was amazing (though better when guest chefs visited from the sister-resort), but the evening entertainment should have been varied (the same violinist played the same songs each evening). The beachclub was convenient, though not so close that we would want to walk to it in the hot, mid-day sun. The service provided by the staff was fantastic. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

This is a fantastic boutique resort where all inclusive is really all inclusive. They have fun tasting menus, wine tastings, they never let your glass become empty. It really is an all-inclusive resort with a grown-up spin. I loved having access to their private beach club, it was so serene. Although there was only 2 restaurants and the property is small, you are allowed access to their 2 other hotels in the area (one is further so we did not venture there), however people staying at those hotels did not have access to Casa Velas. It was perfect, hoping to return soon.

We stayed at Casa Vela last week and enjoyed EVERY minute....Luis and Mitchell are the Concierge in town and Jorge mans the front like no other. The best part of the place is the private Ocean Club, where Daniel and Jorge make you feel like Rockefeller! All in all, its small, personal, friendly and the food was amazing!

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Velas. If you are visiting Puerto Vallarta, this IS the place to stay! A luxury hotel & very friendly staff. You truly feel in Paradise. Highly recommended!

What a treat this place was. After a long, delayed trip (thanks United Airlines!) - we arrived in the early afternoon. We were greeted immediately with a hibiscus tea and the tremendous staff took care of us from that moment until we left. The concierge was great. The pool staff was tremendous. Pluses: * the food was great * the grounds were beautiful * the hotel is small, never felt crowded * beach club was beautiful Minuses: * there was always work being done (pool tiles being replaced, drainage trench being dug, etc.). I expected more from a 4 diamond resort * I wish you could get appetizers or some food when sitting enjoying a drink outside of the lobby. All we were offered were peanuts. For an all inclusive it seemed odd All in all - I cannot say enough great things about Casa Velas. We will certainly be back.

We stayed here for a week a Feb. and had a great time. If you are a golfer, this is the resort for you--you are a short walk away from the Marina Vallarta clubhouse and driving range. The setting was beautiful, the food was mostly good, and the service was also mostly good, and, at times, it was great!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It is advertised as a 4 star hotel. It is 3 stars at best. The quality of the rooms is extremely disappointing. Rooms are old and outdated. They smell of mildew. The amenities in the bathroom are subpar. The jacuzzi in the room is scratched up and looks old and worn. Rooms are dark and uninviting. WiFi does not work in the room despite multiple complaints to the management. The minibar in the room has a very limited selection (few sodas and a couple cans of beer). Despite it being an all inclusive resort, the waiters constantly chase you around to sign the check after any meal or even a simple drink by the pool. This is super annoying. On several occasions, they included some extra charges on the check that we did not even consume. Overall, we were very disappointed with this hotel and we would not go back or recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I celebrated a 10 year anniversary. I ate and ate and ate. Thank goodness we were only there for three days. The Ocean Club at the beach was also amazing! Would definitely do it all over again.

Fantastic hotel and staff. Close to the beach and marina.

We loved Casa Velas! My wife and I flew down to PV for a short 5 night stay and had a wonderful time, spent a lot if time relaxing at the beach club or in our suite getting room service, the staff there is amazing, they make you feel right at home and very comfortable, Rangel, Joel, Oscar, Susy, and Rafael were some of our favorites. We plan on going back in the near future

I have never recived such good service in any hotel I've stayed. The quality of the food and bevarage also has the highest standards.

Casa Velas is a beautiful boutique hotel located on the Gold course. If you like peace and quiet- this is the place for you.The pool area is quiet no kids or activities directors trying get you to play water games etc. The private beach club was lovely and had great food !! I liked everything I tried. My only complaint --many days it took forever to get a drink, The food at Emilios got a little old, since it was our only place to eat. The service at breakfast was really SLOW, but the food was so good. I loved alll the smoothie choices. So we went the sister hotel for a few meals for variety. We had good food at the steak house and the Italian restaurant. Overall the food was very good but not amazing. We certainly didn't starve and still gained weight. The rooms--we stayed in 307 it was nice and had a huge shower!!! The bed and the linens were wonderful. We golfed several times with our golf package and enjoyed seeing all the crocodiles on the course. The course was in decent shape and played well even though it was quite busy. My only complaints were lack of food choice on staff. The fact that even though we had spa credit they wanted us to pay to use the jacuzzi--our room didn;t have one and y husband hurt his back and wanted torelax in the spa's jacuzzi. We also had problems with dinner reservations a few time. Once the girl at the desk never made one for us, nor we were informed about the choices, where and when the chefs table was etc. So that was a little annoying. I felt that should have all been explained to us upon arrival. Other than that everything was great--including the weather.

This was our third time to Casa Velas and we're reluctant to stay anywhere else. The staff, food, location and amenities are excellent. But one of the reasons we chose Casa Velas the first time around was because it was for adults only. This year the new management decided to allow children. There weren't many, and they are still not allowed at the Beach Club, but when you're trying to escape the chaos of home and all the other typical resorts, it's a bit annoying to see a high chair, water wings, tiny voices and temper tantrums. We barely noticed the new cost-cutting measures the new management put in place, but the few things we were disappointed in is the fact that they cut the staff at Emiliano and the Beach Club; and reduced the menu offerings. On our last night, it felt like the staff forgot about us. They were so busy that they didn't have a chance to come back to check on our drinks, and it took them about 20 minutes to get our desserts out. We still have very little to complain about at Casa Velas, and unless the conditions deteriorate drastically (or they start full-blown kids' programs, menus, etc.), we'll still recommend it and still keep going back. Guests new to Casa Velas will feel the same way, and won't notice the changes. It truly is an exceptional resort.

This is not on the beach, but because of that it is so nice and quiet. It is on a golf course. They shuttle you whenever you want ,to their own private beach club about one minute away. The beach club has a pool and a beach that is only for the 80 rooms at Casa Velas.Perfect! No kids.Great food served there too.We did not do the all inclusive as we like to go into town five minutes away and 6 dollars by taxi, for a variety of dining experiences, which worked out great. We ate at the hotel too, ala cart a couple of times.

Best service, especially housekeeping. Ideal place for couples, very safe and clean hotel with friendly staff. Pablo, Rene, and Fredy were the best. Will definitely revisit.

The place is a solid 4 stars with little to pick on. It's small quiet but beware that it is NOT on the beach and there is a shuttle that takes you there to a tiny beach club.

We are very experienced travelers and admitted "food snobs", but could not have been happier with our stay. We were very reluctant to do an all-inclusive after a horrible experience in Cancun, but much to our surprise, we had an amazing time. The food and drinks were amazing. EVERYTHING on the menu at both restaurants was first class, and Benny made us great drinks all week! The service was impressive and the facilities were great. The fitness center and spa were both great. Only draw back is no direct beach access. The short drive to the Beach House is not a big deal, but the beach itself is a little rocky and the water currents are strong so watch out. We decided to spend most of our time their hanging out at the pool and eating sushi! The highlight of the trip was our "Romantic Dinner" package. Chef Francisco and Ecker put together a special menu for us, and the food and service were exquisite. All in all one of the best weeks of relaxation we've ever had!

If you wannna just relax and be taking care of. This is the right place. Not much things to do except the usual, the place is really luxuous and most of it the staff is just great, smiling and very serious. I really enjoy it!

Service: Excellent; the entire staff really wants to make sure that you are comfortable. Food: We had the "all-inclusive" package. The food at the restaurant here (Emiliano's which is the only restaurant on the property) is just OK. So is the case with other restaurants of their sister properties which are part of "all-inclusive" except for Grand Velas. Food at Grand Velas was really good (BTW, we just loved Grand Velas as a hotel and would surely plan to stay at Grand Velas the next time we visit PV; it's a new hotel and so probably so not well known). And you need reservation for dinner at all these restaurants which was not so cool as you need to plan your afternoons / evenings accordingly which is something I hate to do when on vacation. They also ask you to dress up for dinner which is something I did not like...again..it's vacation, time to relax and let go... Rooms: Very clean; no issues with the room; the mattress was a bit hard but that was not too much of an issue for both of us. Room service was prompt and accurate. TV was an old CRT (not even flat screen). Location: It is not on the beach although they have their own beach club to which they have free shuttle service. The beach club is not too far away from the hotel and is pretty good; beach club has a restaurant as well but I being me would prefer to stay on a beachfront property. This was one of the personal lessons learned from this trip. The hotel is near the marina, around 2 miles from the airport but is about 15 mins drive from Malecon and downtown where all the action (shopping/nightlife) is. If you want to be closer to the action, pick one of the hotels near downtown area (also known as Malecon). This is an adults only hotel so it was pretty quiet and peaceful.
