The hotel location was extremely convenient and close to my family. The only complaint would be that a snow storm on our second day of the stay and nothing was done to the parking lot to clear the snow and ice.

Bed bug infested notified the gm they went in room and seen them we left now I have found some in our home and they wont do nothing about it

Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from the room next to you. When the outside door shut it shook the entire room. Floor was dirty, bed sheets were dirty, towels had dark stains on them. A Non Smoking Room was filled full of Smoke Smell. Completely Disgusting.

It's pretty average for a hotel. Not the worst, not the best which is fine especially if in a pinch. The area is a little sketchy and the fact that it's out in the middle of nowhere doesn't help with the uneasy, lock your doors, feeling that will keep you up at night. Staff was very nice and the room was passing clean. Unfortunately I found issues with a few other things. The deadbolt on my door didn't work, there was a constant high pitched whine coming from the bathroom vent all night. There were a couple of stink bugs that stuck to the wall all night, ominously watching me. The walls are paper thin so you will hear everyone's deepest darkest secrets in the rooms next to you and across the hall as well. Despite the deadbolt not working I wasn't that worried because the doors literally scream at the hinges when they're opened so if anyone even thinks about coming into your room it could wake you out of a coma. That also means you'll hear everybody on your floor enter and leave their rooms as well, though.

There was a loud noise often in the night. It may have been a train.

It was a great value! The place was clean overall and it could use a good power washing outside to make the sidewalks and immediate areas of the parking lot match the same level of tidyness.

Staff was great but whoever remodeled this place doesn’t know what they was doing. Tile job was horrible my grand kids could of done a better job. And we got locked in our room. They upgraded us to a suite but the slope in the floor was horrible. And we saw a cockroach in the room. This hotel has improved since our last stay a few years ago but still need more work.

Desk clerk working alone couldn't make a key that worked. After 3 tries, I asked for another room. That was fine. Room was clean. Beds & bedding were fine. Shower worked & was not confusing, but tub surface was slick. Breakfast was fine, but not much variety. When ready to check out, elevator didn't work. I wasn't too happy about lugging my luggage down all of those steps from the 3rd floor. Train was very close to hotel. That doesn't bother me (or my friend) at all, but it might some people.

It was an average place to stay when I travel again I will be staying there again

The new employee lady at front desk lied when ask to get management on phone. She attempted to call but no one answered. This turns out to be a lie and in turn told the owner of hotel that I tried to cause a disturbance and got banned from renting rooms at this hotel. I'm a lon time platinum holding card member with this hotel chain. Over 250000 points accumulated. Never have I been treated so rude and will be seeking a refund for this stay via the owner. This same hotel once had to refund me in excess of 350.00 due to double charging credit card back in 2012. Not sure they will ever get my business nor should they get yours BE AWARE!

The beds were comfortable, and I was only looking for a place to sleep, but then I had to kill two cockroaches. Nasty! Guess it's better than bedbugs. Still, this hotel is probably better and definitely not worse than most of the other affordable hotels in Portsmouth, OH. That's the only reason I'd recommend this hotel to a friend, haha, along with a note to bring along bug killer.

Do not stay at this hotel. We were first given a room that they called a suite. The arms of the sofa were so dirty and grungy and it was nasty. There were giant holes in the box spring covering. A heavy smell of mold filled the entire room. We had reserved a room with a king size bed and the woman that checked us in told us we did not reserve a king size room. They gave us another room, king sized bed with a sauna. That room had the same mold smell and there was pieces of old food under the microwave and a chair at the table was broken. The carpets were badly stained and it didn't feel like a safe place to be. We told them we were not staying there and went to a very nice hotel nearby and had a very nice stay. Of course we were not issued a refund.

It's the Super 8 in Portsmouth OH, so my expectations weren't super high, but the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. There were a number of people there for the same event that started early in the morning, and the staff put the breakfast out early for us, so that was great. For the price, it really can't be beat.

Motel was very noisy. It seemed like there were at least 8 children staying in each room. They ran through the halls and were a nuisance in the pool area. There was nothing left to eat for the continental breakfast. We reserved two rooms. I would think common sense would say put the two rooms in close proximity. They put one party on the second floor and the other party on the third floor. They said it was because we reserved it on the internet that it could not be changed. However, the third floor room A/C did not work, so they put us on the second floor. The price was right and the room was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

a non smoking room that they just made into a non smoking room with in the last month. that been said the room smelled of ol cig . bed was very warn. pillows were very thin even with 2 it was not enuff . last day there we had issues with hot water for showers.

Thank you for choosing Super 8 by Wyndham Portsmouth. I do apologize. The gentleman who takes care of cleaning our lot was out of town for the holiday. We have a plan in place to prevent this happening in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. In future stays, if the train is an issue, you may consider asking for a room on the backside.
